- The R Marvel R is sold as the MG Marvel R in Europe, but is there more difference between them than just the name?

Just wanted to issue a correction on the price listed for the PRO AWD version of the Marvel R during the video. The top of the line car does not cost 141,000 USD (that would be ridiculous), it costs 41,000 USD. We apologize for the error!

Gorgeous vehicle.
That centre screen ergonomics need a bit of work, looks like it would 1) be hard to use the bottom half of the screen unless you've got short arms and 2) blind you with reflections depending where the sun is
The Marvel R sold in Belgium does only have MG badges. Even the steering wheel badge is the MG one. Only 4 colors are available (Prism Blue (standard) , Grey , Black & Kirin Grey wich is a Special Edt. color , 1.000 Euro xtra for the last 3).
Hey bro you got some dust stuck in the lens. I can tell by the little dark but still not opaque black dot near the middle but up and left a little. Kept catching my eye
What I have seen is that the CN Version has a Info display in the middle behinde the steering wheel that can display things link Navi, camera etc... The EU Version can only show Navigation in the middle of this screen.
Also the steering wheel looks way better in the CN Version ... Also there is just stage 2 in EU and stage 3 in CN by the assisted Driving
Seen a few of these in person here in Shanghai. They look good on the outside, but I'm not a fan of that giant screen in the interior - the slope in particular looks like it wouldn't be very easy to see when driving. I much prefer a more upright design.

Great Quick Review, there is so much more to this vehicle so looking forward to a Full Review. As a Marvel R driver ( ownership is another story) I concur with all your points, especially with the weak regen. I have put almost 3K on this one and love driving it daily, very satisfied with it overall. There are few features I dislike however the wireless phone charging dock is not a good design, it is inside the console, and it's too narrow to slip an iPhone in with a cover. The screen has quite a lag time but I can live with that. There are so many innovative features.............but respectfully I will leave that for your next review :)

I'm really excited with SAIC bringing MG to my country a couple years ago, but i hope they can invest a lot more like they did with Wuling. Kinda worrying to buy a car from a manufacturer that only have single digits amount of service center
SAIC has already invested MG in Thailand, can't really see the point for them to invest in Indonesia so soon since Wuling still has a lot of room to grow.
They could bring a Wuling badged version of it, in Indonesia. Don't forget they bring to Europe the Wuling Almaz under the MG brand.
Suspension still looks “bouncy”, like every other MG EV. Watch it going down the road at the end and how long it takes to recover from those bumps.

Does the European MG have voice command? Like " open sunroof" - sunroof opens. Have seen the R version in China has it.
My Marvel R will sometimes open the sunroof when we are having an English conversation,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, not a great feature when its raining!
This trim is the base trim in Europe they have different interior option for colour grey and brown to beige.

Yes please! The ZS "facelift" will probably be a super hit in Northern Europe, although it seems that we won't get a heatpump (does come with the pricier Marvel R though...)

@@basilho79 no buddy. I’m in the UK they have the MG5 all electric and the MG3 compact hatchback and the MGZS in ICE and PHEV option but they don’t look like this. Hence my curiosity. Thanks 🙏
@@smarte.r.1450 MG europe introduced Marvel R, MG5ev facelift and MG ZSev facelift earlier this year but they haven't releasead it yet, probably Q1 next year

I can’t get my head around that giant screen. I’m certain I would constantly smash my fingertips into it when I reach for my coffee or whatever. Other than that it’s lovely. I don’t think it’s coming to Australia though.
It would be better if it was called a Roewe Marvel R in the foreign market

You should’ve mentioned the most annoying thing. Does not have English menu! I own this car for 9 months now in Shanghai. Super happy with the car in general but not being able to use it without asking my wife for translation it’s pretty annoying. And the SAIC’s support is also not great.

It's sold as MG in europe, like other Roewe.
While the Marvel R ( sold in so far in China) and MG Marvel R are both built by SAIC they are not under the ROEWE brand.
It always bugged me how the Chinese SUV are always 1 size smaller than the American SUV.
And the European are taking their sides on the sizes.

Be frank, not sure how many units would Marvel R sell in Europe for €39,990. Similarly sized Skoda Enyaq and VW id4 are cheaper.
False. An ID.4/Enyaq with similar specs costs well north 60-55,000€.
@@fabianhutter1658 Starting price of a car plays a big role in pulling customers into their showroom too. If spec is really that important, MG should sell a lot more ZS EV than it is doing today since it is better equipped than Korean and European. This is simply because of the weaker brand recognition from MG.
@@wong924 I think the issue is lack of dealers, in the UK where there are lots of dealers, MG outsells the Koreans and most of the Europeans. I hear it's done the same in some of the Scandinavian markets as well.
@@wong924, actual car buyers compare car prices by specs and nobody trusts the entry price tag on a VWAG product. Their ZS EV sells like hotcakes in Europe so not sure what the argument is here. They’re clearly not going after the VWAG segment, but they don’t need to hide.
