This review was filmed before we learned that Zeekr would be buying out Volvo's shares of the Lynk & Co brand, giving them a 51% stake in L&C, with the remaining 49% going to Geely Auto (the mother company for all three brands). It's important to point out that I haven't heard any news saying that L&C will disappear or that they will merge with Zeekr to become a new brand, at least for now. I do think that this will ultimately happen, because even Geely admits that the two brands have too much overlap (as I discuss in this video!), and are competing with each other unnecessarily. The whole thing just seems like a way to shuffle money around Geely Group, including getting some emergency funding to Volvo and Polestar, both of which could really use it right now. It also indicates a much needed consolidation, because as I've stated multiple times, Geely has TOO MANY BRANDS.
I think the Chinese auto market would benefit greatly from more of this. There are too many brands, period! Which is deeply confusing for the average consumer. Hell, even those of us who subscribe to channels like yours struggle to keep up! Another great review btw.....always enjoyable.

I have seen this car for real at Geely Design/Zeekr Design here in Gothenburg, Sweden, where it was designed (I worked there myself earlier this year). It was standing next to Lynk & Co "The Next Day Concept", from where it borrowed suprisingly much of its design. Never thought Lynk & Co would dare to do such a radical car.
And they truly did an amazing job with that. Haven’t seen such a nice design so far, the ratios are exceptionally beautiful almost perfect design. I hope they don’t touch the design anymore and invest more to improve drive and other features. This car is almost perfect … looking sedan.

With the all-glass roof, would this car pass vehicle safety testing in the US? I thought cars needed a protection bar across the frame of the roof for rollover crashes.

Hi @wheelsboy and team! Sorry to see you've cancelled the FPC... Unfortunately you posted this as a members-only post and video, then cancelled the FPC subscription an hour or so later, so we can no longer see the post! Any chance you could unlock the short video or something? Thanks.
What's going on with the FPC? I can't open the post from earlier today it just says "I wanted to talk to you" then click for more and it doesn't load...
Sorry about that! I foolishly thought that current members would still be able to see the post after I ended memberships. I’ve copied the content of the post below! Hello, Fanny Pack Cub! Apologies for going so long without a post, but that's actually why I wanted to speak with all of you today. Myself and the rest of the Wheelsboy Team consider it a real honor that so many of you have been willing to pay us each month to support the content we make, but we've decided to end the Wheelsboy Memberships, at least for now. There are multiple reasons for this decision, starting with the fact that we simply don't have time to provide the extra content needed to justify taking your money each month. For those who don't know, we also make content in Chinese for domestic Chinese platforms, so we've got double the workload of your average content creator. The current member benefits also include early access to content, but providing early access means that we often have to choose between posting content at the same time as other creators and taking advantage of the algorithm, or posting it to members first and ultimately receiving far fewer views. Views means revenue, but it also means more subscribers, more influence, and ultimately more access to new vehicles in the future. The other reason is that we've finally seen an uptick in companies willing to sponsor videos, so that helps to lessen the financial strain that comes with managing a channel and creating content at our level of quality. Since that was the entire point of memberships, we now have one less reason to continue asking you for your money each month. The upside is that we will continue to bring you the same content that you love, and we won't ask for anything in return except your viewership. Thank you again from the bottom of our hearts for your support! We look forward to bringing you more insights into the world of Chinese EVs for years to come!
