I agreed. This Conference was a disaster. Had a bunch of "don'ts." The fact that most of their games had no real gameplay, especially Mass Effect, was a kick to the knees. Colin is right that companies SHOULD NOT show games WAY before they ready...

Colin, I think u might be too critical of Titanfall2. The first title delivered some of the best PVP FPS mechanics I have ever seen. Give it a chance. Battlefield 1 will be exactly what you expect so if you want something unique TF2 might deliver.

To those who are slamming FIFA- just because you're apathetic to the game doesn't mean lots of others aren't. There is a massive contingent of FIFA fans and it's a massive money spinner for them.
No doubt FIFA drives tons of sales, but all the money they must make during team of the year or team of the season in ultimate team is scary.

Totally agree with you guys. ME A is not at all ready. And EA has forgot to show some actual gameplay footage. I want to see a gameplay demo played by someone else don't host these conferences.
Just listen to Colin's opening monologue instead of watching the EA conference. It will save you a lot of time.

It felt like EA was spending a lot of time teasing how much better next years conference could be compared to this mediocrity.
1) Mention the sports, show trailers for them. Go into depth on those in separate videos for each sport, and post a 5-10 minute video for each game on the EA youtube account. Broadcast those to the audience you have, you are easily the #1 sports publisher in the business.
2) Use EA Originals to pull more people into EA, FE definitely caught my eye because it was new & different. Like Greg said, add a couple more in there.
3) Close with big franchise games. This year i would've shown Mass Effect, then Star Wars (trailers & footage from upcoming content/games, not so much blabbing about what you already have), then Battlefield 1 because that shit was crazy.
That would have been a phenomenal conference. Just keep it simple and about the games.
Honestly I used to fucking hate Colin when he was at IGN, after seeing him on this channel this guy knows his shit and seems like he basically expresses everything I do in terms of the industry. I don't know if IGN hindered his ability to really express his opinion but I'm glad to finally find a real gaming channel. You got a sub for sure, appreciate the hard work guys

its funny because this conference pretty much proves that all that talk about e3 fading away is pretty much out the window. ea did not attend e3 not because its a waste of resources and money they did it because they couldn't fill out a real, traditional conference even if they wanted to. bravo ea you outdid yourself this year
People writing comments hating on Fifa and madden need to respect the games and the people that play them just because you don't understand the sports/games doesn't give you the right to belittle them. You can't say the conference is bad due to ea spending time talking about sports games you can say it's bad due to the quality of the information.
That was so upsetting with the star wars thing because I actually thought with how long they've been working on it that Visceral's star wars game would be out this fall

Has there ever been a worse E3 conference? Wanted to throw out there something nobody mentioned: There was not a single demo: live, staged, or recorded, aside from the 1 hour stream for Battlefield 1 afterwards.

Do you think EA's mindset in releasing both Battlefield and Titanfall is just to beat CoD this year, and perhaps a long term effort to ween people off it? It is the only reason that makes sense to me.
This is a really, really good point. Battlefield is gonna bring in a lot of cod players this year, and Titanfall might drag over that extra handful that'll hurt cod badly enough to drop the sales significantly.
Whats crazy to me is how they had literally nothing significant to shoe for most games.

EA is a multiplayer centric publisher. I'm not surprised the crew didn't like the press conference. Also, EA moved all of its mainline games to Frostbite a few years back.

Mass Effect Trilogy and Dead Space Trilogy HD Remaster announcement could've saved the conference. Missed that chance.
I agree with Colin that EA should drop the Press Conference for next E3 and maybe do a few little streams like a Nintendo Direct or what Ubisoft did with Watch Dogs 2 last week and maybe have a couple big games at Microsoft or Sony conferences. Just please no more sports games at any event.

honestly i think what ea did is worse because it bored the crap out of all of us and we didn't get anything out of it. at least with nintendo were getting a beefy livestream of actual gameplay from a massive game lots of people are anxiously waiting for

I think they're releasing titanfall 2 so close so players have a futuristic shooter option in fear some people wont dig the old school WW1 battlefield
Yeah but those people are gonna be buying Infinite Warfare a couple of weeks later.... Titanfall 2 has no chance against both Battlefield and Call of Duty.... It is literally sandwiched in between them...
There will be more Titanfall or Battlefield gameplay at Xbox conference because they don't have enough exclusives to show off

They really should have done a sizzle-reel of all the games that are not ready, But damn Colin has a bit of a disconnect with what EA is doing. The "Esports" is a new big EA thing, no it's not for you Colin, but it is a massive thing for so many other people, which is why they need to talk about it and get people information about it. It's concept is cool, so many people want to be more competitive in their games, it really is a funner experience if when you are wanting to play hard to win, that everyone else online around you is too, and if they are all at the same level it is even better, and that is general aim of EA competitive stuff. It is not at all weird, it makes perfect sense that they would talk about it.
Also Tim, have you ever seen another battlefield trailer before. Rihanna was on the BF4 trailer, it entirely is a BF thing.
i think the titanfall single player looks great, like more grounded then COD tbh, even tho this next COD will be grounded, but the visuals arent as good ,... itll have good moments in it. and dialogue imo
Was disappointed with the Star Wars hype as they didn't have anything out this year...... they didn't even show off anything of the battlefront DLC thats coming this year. (bar 3 second of Lando)

yeah i agree with what they said about titan-fall the release date in October is a terrible idea. October through November is like triple a city. they're are so many great games coming in October and November .titan fall looks great but they're release date is just a gunshot to its foot.

This makes me look forward to Bethesda's conference even more. EA, as always, talked way too much about sports games (and i'm a sports gamer myself).
Man you guys seem jaded as hell. I'm super excited for Titanfall 2 and the updates and bts video were about what you can expect these days from EA. Couldn't care less about the sports segments but then again that's not for me.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one to see this conference as awful. I'm 23 and I've grown with videogames, and every year I feel like most of the companies are no longer interested in what I like! It's an awful feeling. Gladly, we live in a era where are TON of games and developers. That's why I love The Witcher 3: Makes me feel like an adult while playing videogames. Also there's no rap in WW1, so that's a major.
Titanfall 2 looks really really good.... It's a shame it's not gonna sell...

could've just summed it up by saying EA= microtransactions
EA really needs a big rebrand to get away from the scummy reputation it has now.
1) Refer to the themselves always as Electronic Arts rather than EA
2) Separate EA sports and EA
3) Skip as many E3s as are needed until they have games ready to show
4) Get a new classier logo eg. Insomnaic, Rockstar etc
5) Bring back Skate, Burnout
6) Give Bioware complete autonomy
7) Sack all the CEOs and big wigs, replace with real game people
8) No more EA access, online passes etc
9) Purchase smaller indie developers and give them funding and assistance (BUT STILL GIVE THEM CREATIVE INDEPENDENCE) to ensure more games are being made, meaning they don't have to advertise games they aren't ready.
Done.
Oh and an addition to 5) Bring back a rebooted Dead Space, back to gritty survival horror, classy style
Bethesda is so much more clever about marketing and I'm guessing employ people to read social media comments, that even if they have nothing immanent to release or anounce they will walk away heroes. Tod Howard is very likeable and seems to be one of us, so it seems, he know's how to speak our language. Just that alone is worth billions. Hope they have some good stuff that works day 1, LOL! Please Bethesda, get your shit together! If this remaster has 1 fucking bug I will scream!
