I thought that was a very bad conference. Arkane Studio was awesome, but man, everything else was just so bland, boring, and consisted of things we already knew about. We knew about the Fallout 4 DLC, Skyrim Remaster, we already know Doom was awesome, and only two people in the world (the two in the audience) like the Elder Scrolls Online. The one new thing was Quake Champions and that's PC exclusive and multiplayer focused so yeah... Pretty disappointing overall. And Colin, the people making Dishonered once belonged to Looking Glass Studios, the team that Ken Levine once belonged to and created the System Shock and Thief series, so they most certainly weren't influenced by Ken Levine as they come from the same background.
I though Dishonored 2 was really boring to watch and was the worst part

+ItalianoMobzter7 Nothing of the gameplay seemed much different at all from the first game, I couldn't get into the first Dishonored so I didn't care at all when they were showing it
The EA press conference was so bad that the Prey reveal and Dishonored 2 gameplay showing satisfied me with the Bethesda conference.
You can't really blame the conference for leaks that happened before hand.... You weren't supposed to know about Skyrim Remaster.... And I'm pretty sure nobody knew about half of that Fallout 4 shit. It's just nobody gives a shit about building more bs.
I like how Collin gives the sour, Greg the sweet, and Nick the in between. Good contrast and equilibrium, not 3 clones talking the same. Keep it up!
Skyrim Special Edition comes out the same day as Titanfall 2, by the way. Between Battlefield 1 and Skyrim, I don't think many people are going to be playing Titanfall this October.
I don't think that many people are gonna be playing Skyrim Remastered apart from people who never got to play it.
+Patrick Chaanin personally, I'd go back. I bet a lot of console plays who loved the game but never really got to experience it on the PC are willing to go back.

Are you guys going to talk about Mafia III? That 20 minute gameplay demo they put out is going under the radar cause they released it in between conferences, but it looks like the best game shown so far at E3
I agree! Game looks incredible. I wish they would have dropped it during a conference, but then it wouldn't have been as long or detailed.

This has me even more excited for Dis2 and I'm so hyped Skyrim remastered

Felt more like an actual conference for sure.
When they announced Fallout 4 a year ago, they said development began by porting Skyrim to Xbox One. Then they built Fallout 4 from the ported Skyrim engine.
I absolutely cannot wait for Skyrim on PS4. I've been desperate to play the game again, and it make me so happy that I can do that on next gen systems, with mods. Can't wait!

Wolfenstein 2 and The Evil Within 2 will probably be their E3 2017 games with one or both of them coming out that holiday season (early 2018 for the other if one does slip through the cracks). We didn't imagine that Arkane and Id would be working on two games at once, so maybe MachineGames and Tango are too. Then you'd imagine that at least one of Bethesda's games that they said were "as big as Fallout 4/Skyrim" would be shown next year too. Maybe the other big game at E3 2018 or 2019 and this would probably be about the time we'd be seeing Doom 5 as well (and maybe something like Dishonored 3 or The Evil Within 3 too). Finally Elder Scrolls 6 in 2020 or 2021 to cap off this console generation for Betheasda. Maybe another Fallout game similar to New Vegas from some second-party studio could be somewhere in the mix too.

I swear to god when the conferences are absolutely mind blowing Colin thinks their absolute shit but when their borderline atrocious he thinks their good. Like wtf man?
Great post show. I really liked this conference, and I was really into Dishonored 2, personally. Was weird how they skirted the Skyrim Special Edition under the rug, but eh.
It's amazing how peoples preferences on different types of games can vary opinions on how good the conference was. I enjoyed the conference for the first two thirds and being a stealth fan was enthralled by Dishonored 2, while Tim was openly bored. Obviosuly I'm not trying to say he is wrong for having a different opinion, I'm just interested by the contrasting reactions

Normally i agree more with Tim than Colin on most subjects but this time i am doing a complete 180. I think Tim is fucking nuts in this case Dishonered looks freaking amazing!

I feel like the Dishonored 2 stuff was very much targeted at Dishonored fans. Having loved the first one, the gameplay from 2 got me very excited. But I can definitely see how the demo wouldn't hook new players.
I don't think there's any way that rendering a really big open world that's buggy as hell (Fallout4) in VR would be at all easier than rendering a linear first person shooter (Doom)....

Colin is right about One Tamriel. There's a reason WOW in its 12 years never did it. it doesnt make sense to go and kill the lich kings army as a new player. Thats like a reward for progressing, seeing more powerful stuff. doesnt make sense to me

Did he say it was better than EAs? I don't know about that. All Bethesda announced was a remaster a PC game some DLC and 1 game. where as EA had FIFA Madden battlefield 1 battlefront DLC mass effect and teased other star wars games
FIFA and Madden are yearly releases, nothing new apart from a FIFA "story mode". Battlefield 1 was already announced. Mass Effect only showed art. Star Wars told us what we already knew. As for Battlefield DLC, meh.

Seems weird to make a big deal about a Doom demo. And on top of that to make it only for a week. Not like there aren't other games that have free demos.

Ugh! I don't have time to spend another thousand hours in Skyrim but, using the phrase of Colin, I'm definitely up that game's ass.
what I dont get is.. is this a reboot for prey or how does this fit in to the universe?
I thought it was an ok conference. I have no stake in the vive or quake. I was disappointed that they aren't sticking with the original concept of prey 2.

i literally fell asleep during the dishonored 2 part...
well it was probably a combination of a lack of sleep on my end and just a pretty convoluted gameplay reveal on their end. Put me to sleep like little baby XD
+Drmusic13 I watched live until the dishonored "gameplay" it was less gameplay and mostly what seemed to be random AI walking around a pretty environment. Visually it was damn good. It just didn't show any proof that there was actually a game there imo

quake is clearly going to use the champion like design overwatch uses with multiple characters instead of classes. the game i couldnt care less about. expect it on console to compete with overwatch because why would they allow overwatch to take over the console

am I the only one that didnt really like Bethesda's conference? I've never played quake or prey so theres nothing exciting for me there. Dont care about the skyrim card game and I already own 2 copies of skyrim so i dont care about a remastered(nor do I care about skyrim online). I guess dishonored 2 gameplay was kinda cool. Imo overall weak conference but better than ea's tho

I thought if a game is running at a stable 60fps the ps4 can reproject it to 120fps for psvr, doom should be fine, fallout has no chance if they can't lock 60fps, can barely hold 30, not the ps4s fault though it's fallouts awful dated engine, because as I say doom runs fine and it's a more performance intensive game.
makes psvr look bad if there are no plans to try and get doom or fallout or even skyrim remastered on psvr, I'd be so gutted if I had already bought an oculus and you can only get Bethesda vr on vive
could've just saved some time and said Bethesda=glitches and overrated games. except dishonored by thats not made by them anyways
