- Ellen DeGeneres has taken quite a hit to her reputation in the last few months. The talk show host presents a kind image to America, but plenty of former and current staffers have said that things are not as they seem. Now, DeGeneres’ former bodyguard has spoken out, and he has a similar story. Tom Majercak was the bodyguard for DeGeneres and her wife Portia De Rossi at the 2014 Oscars, and while Majercak insists that De Rossi was perfectly nice, he says DeGeneres was quite rude. Of course, this is only one story, but it might suggest a pattern of behavior when looked at alongside other stories. Here’s why Ellen DeGeneres’ former bodyguard says she’s nothing like she seems.

Steve Shirripa who used to book her when he ran a comedy club (he's an actor now) said she's a total sociopath on his podcast last week too.
I was a waitress in 1989 at the Punchline in Walnut Creek, CA. Ellen did stand up at this club several times during my employment at the club. She made fun of my appearance on a couple of occasions as part of her act, which...ok, she is is comedian, maybe we can allow her this :-), however it wasn't pleasant mocking and completely unprovoked. Off stage often the comedians that performed at the club would chat with the staff, but not Ellen, only to ask for a drink, never made eye contact, she clearly thought she was above the "staff" at the club. She wasn't the prime time celeb she is today, back in he 80s and she was not friendly back then either.

I haven’t watched Ellen in years. I thought her games she played were so demeaning and humiliating to see contest used for her amusement. She isn’t the first and won’t be the last, when the truth comes out. People say she can’t be a comedian all the time. When I first saw a picture of her, I thought , “What the hell is it?” Thankfully she is not popular or well known in England.
This makes me sad. I truly used to love Ellen as a comedian. She seems like such a kind person on TV and I really admired her for coming out way back in the 90’s. But now, there are so many instances of her being rude, disrespectful and unkind that this whole scandal saddens me. Never look to celebrities on how to measure success and happiness. It’s all an illusion. Trust in God to lead you down the right path in life. He will never fail you.
Haven’t watched a full episode of Ellen or her show in years, all the clips I’ve seen of her she comes off as unlikeable. I don’t know if this is the truth but it certainly seems like it. Hello all! I think the OP makes a great point. You can't assume everyone is going to fit into the mould of your expectations. It's short-sighted to do so. There are loads of reasons people do not exchange "pleasantries". What if someone was living with Asperger's Syndrome and you didn't know it right away (because WHY would you until you get to know the person)? Would you post a whole video about how awful that person was because they didn't look you directly in the eyes one time? We cannot blindly name call people we don't know! That would make US awful people, wouldn't it? And remember to say hello to people when your ranting about a celebrity who didn't say hello to someone. :D
@@gnatals it's fair enough if there's a genuine reason for it. I work in psychiatry and know there's any number of reasons to avoid eye contact or to avoid speaking- they could be having delusions that a person is a threat to them for example.
I'm only talking about people who avoid pleasantries out of sheer rudeness or thinking they are above someone socially etc - which I believe was most likely the case in Ellen's situation. If there was some psychological reason, then Portia Rossi wouldn't have introduced the security guy to begin with

My fam is crazy and narcissistic. In general, I try to be very kind and too positive. There are only 2 times I haven't felt 'close, through TV) The first time her and Portia were showing bad gifts that have been sent over the years, such as portraits, etc. The other time was about a gift I sent to Ellen that was a quilted throw with gorillas in it.
