  • @Losttouchjs

    This is what happens when the product being reviewed is also the sponsor! So this is a review? People watching this commercial, I mean “Review” needs to know the pros and cons! Well, we got the pros part of it, now we need to know the cons of the product? Anything? Like what’s the negativities of the “Nest Security System”? If everything is all hunky-dory about this product then it’s not a review but a sponsored commercial! And what cracks me about the whole thing is all your followers gets fooled in the process thinking that this is the greatest security system ever!
    Bottom line is if you’re going to review a product regardless if you’re getting it for free or not please give us the negativities, it would be greatly appreciated :)

      Anything can be a pro or a con in one’s opinion.
      A review talks about the product’s features.
      A review can also provide instructions on how to use the products.

    How long until this becomes typical Nest abandonware is my concern. Or better yet, how long until they decide to start charging some extravagant monthly fee for you to be able to receive alerts on your phone after enough people have bought into it?
    500 bucks seems like a huge gamble, especially when there are far cheaper DIY systems already out there (Skylinknet, iSmarthomealarm, ect......), And the new Ring Protect system is coming which is priced at only 200 and is far more configurable.
    This is not going to be a huge hit for Google. Too expensive......

    This video sucks as a "review" because it is sponsored, so it's not a review but rather an ad. What I did like about the video was the detailed walkthrough of the software on the app, many times you don't get to see the software working until you actually purchase the product.

    $500 for the Kit with 2 sensors. Each additional sensor is $60!!!!! From the nest web sit. So for a medium size house your looking at approximately $1,000-$1,800 for all doors and windows. I was sold on this till I looked up the price of additional sensors!

    great review!
    one question
    does the motion sensors detects just heat or does it also detect "objects" that moves around?
    thinking of placing one on a wall facing against the front door and see if it detects movement on the door handle if someone is touching the door.
    or if someone tries to open the letterbox.

    What if your home has more than one commonly used entrance and not everyone in the family carries a smartphone?
    Seems to me they could remedy this by selling Nest Guard Slave stations rather than just having the base station.
    I’ve contacted Nest about this and they’re reply was that they designed this system for homes with just one entry point and that they’ll consider my recommendation in the future.
    But for now, Nest seems to think we all live in apartments.

  • @andyblack4321
    @andyblack4321 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Apart from the phone notifications I'm nervous that a burglar could just smash the unit with a hammer and stop the alarm. At least a traditional alarm has the sounder out of reach. Would be good if it could link to an existing system to gain that benefit.

    Great video review. Nest products are great. I already have the Nest Thermostat and just purchased the Nest Hello Video Door Bell. If you have a bigger home with more exit and entry points, you would need more sensors. But this system is do it yourself monitoring. Is there also a way to alert the Police through the system?

  • @gueeds23
    @gueeds23 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    I might be interested, but the way to put the motion/door sensors wouldn’t work on my doors. Either the door part wouldn’t work or the motion detection would be useless in my home.
    Also, still waiting for their 24/7 monitoring to save on home insurance.
