The second reason is to get you to rewatch and interact with the video, to look at what is happening in the background. It also applies to the shock factor, basically people rewinding to replay asking "what just happened/did that just happen?"
Robin Atkin Downes is a very accomplished voice actor. He does a lot of stuff. My favorite role he played was Travis Touchdown in the original No More Heroes games.

I mean it's been 16 years since the release and I'm sure they recorded the voices at least a year before the release too. Most were probably 40-50 years old at the time and now they are in their 60's and 70's.
I couldn't hear any difference, still cool. The mixing in the original is great and the performances in the recreation by aging VAs is also great. It's crazy that they all still have it after all of this time. Sure, they were already pretty old when the lines were recorded, but really old age can destroy vocal cords. I mean, I'm sure there's a reason why old people have old people voices.

I love how Medic still sounds exactly on point, 16+ years later Everyone did amazing, but it's incredible how Robin Atkin Downes just picked the voice/accent right back up like it hasn't been more than a decade.

There was a reason given to his absence. Nathan (scout’s va) didn’t want to just be known as just the scout guy, and wanted to branch out. He took an indefinite break from this type of stuff, from what we know, though he might come back to do more community based stuff later on.

Btw the video ended up being amazing feels so smooth with the actual voices, back in the day animators had to work with the voice lines that were in the game and It think that's great part of why this humour was born, now with the real VAs feels like polishing to perfection this animations. You know, as a YTP fan from 2008, I really do struggle with the fact that random humor and shitposting is a wide-spread thing now. Part of the appeal of YTP was, to child me anyway, that it was DEFINITELY something you didn't really share with anyone else. As I've gotten way older and seeing it be everywhere now, I STILL wouldn't dare bring it up with anyone else in the real world. 😂 TF2 has always worked well with the shitposting chaos, however. Probably because the actual game is complete chaos, and most players would be drawn to the kind of humor.

There was a reason given to his absence. Nathan (scout’s va) didn’t want to just be known as just the scout guy, and wanted to branch out. He took an indefinite break from this type of stuff, from what we know, though he might come back to do more community based stuff later on.

This made me realize again how tf2's community humour would put each one of us in a psychiatric hospital some centuries ago, nowadays it's pretty hard for me not to feel a bit embarrassed while they watch this 😂 I'm glad they understood it's just random shit go!
Btw the video ended up being amazing feels so smooth with the actual voices, back in the day animators had to work with the voice lines that were in the game and It think that's great part of why this humour was born, now with the real VAs feels like polishing to perfection this animations. You know, as a YTP fan from 2008, I really do struggle with the fact that random humor and shitposting is a wide-spread thing now. Part of the appeal of YTP was, to child me anyway, that it was DEFINITELY something you didn't really share with anyone else. As I've gotten way older and seeing it be everywhere now, I STILL wouldn't dare bring it up with anyone else in the real world. 😂 TF2 has always worked well with the shitposting chaos, however. Probably because the actual game is complete chaos, and most players would be drawn to the kind of humor.

It's very fascinating seeing the differences between the original and the "kid-friendly" version. One change in particular, Demo throwing the gun, is honestly kind of even funnier.
I honestly prefer him shooting and being thrown like a ragdoll from the pushback, but the kid friendly version has better hanged spy scene imo
its a little sad we couldnt get the entire crew, but at the same time seeing the gang together is super wholesome
Engineer’s VA only did it for the money, unfortunately..and Scout’s VA is focusing on life
