LS, aka "Literally Sett" is a half-Noxian half-Vastayan pit fighter that is often ridiculed for his mixed heritage and weird anime hair cut. He is specifically known for his corny quotes and considers letting your enemies live "bad macro".

I feel as if everyone is overlooking the fact that this kit has only two skills that offer any mobility, the only reliable one in the form of a 30% movespeed boost for 1.5 seconds, and his only way to deal with cc is in his ult, which has a low cast range. This means he gap closes on par with garen, if not worse than garen, but cc shuts off his damage (relies almost exclusively on auto-attacks), unlike garen's E or morde's passive. The hitbox on his e only has 495 range, and it grabs in the hitbox post cast time, so it's harder to land than darius's E by a mile. His numbers are high yes, because they need to be. This is the first champion in a very long time that has clear and abusable weaknesses. His movespeed boost on his q is not even reliable with cdr because like garen Q it only goes on cooldown once both of the punches have been consumed, meaning even at max cdr it will still have around a 7 second "cooldown" unless you're already in range to auto attack with q (at which point you probably don't need it since that mean's you're in range to land E).
Don't get me wrong, I love this kit, and I love it precisely because it is under-saturated. It has a defined role that the numbers are heavily tuned towards (perhaps even overtuned), but provides outplay potential for even the champions that it is designed to defeat (tanks and fighters). Tanks can still cc him without much trouble (obviously he can use his R to outplay some cc, but in most skirmishes he won't be able to consistently auto attack because he will be vulnerable to cc), and most fighters have enough tools to deal with champions that need to consistently auto attack to deal damage (usually a form of mobility). I honestly still think he needs a bit more of a buff (his W shield duration has already been increased to 3 seconds to help with this) because his matchup against ranged champions is almost unplayable. If his passive didn't give him more health regen combined with the fact that he has high base hp/5, he would be bullied out of lane by most champions that can consistently harass him. Perhaps that regen is enough to offset those bad matchups (and from what I'm seeing, most Sett players take ghost to help with his low mobility as well), but I think high level players will take too much advantage of those weaknesses.
While I somewhat agree that his mobility isn't as much as some may think there are some corrections. His 'w' also helps him deal with cc because it's uninterrupted in the animation so as long as you start it before the stun you can be dealing dmg and shielding throughout the cc.
His 'e' is pretty much as easy to hit as darius 'e' because you can combine it with the movespeed and it's close to instant, it has slightly lower range and radius but that's because it comes with a 1 second stun.

very rarely enemies deal a lot of damage and then cc, and he needs to take damage before using his W, so also not very fair to say it helps when 9/10 times it wont due to the nature of the skill needing you to take damage
He is as mobile as garen since his ulti only gives him a dash forwards and pull the enemy with you and it has to be melee range meaning it wont be able to gapclose or escape
his numbers are high but not even close to darius levels and he probably will be a very weak champ outside of low elo
he has ms and literally that's all he has, he will get crushed if he gets behind or if he is against a ranged champ since he has no form of getting to them, even less then illaoi or garen for example
noone of the "corrections" are correct basically and that's all i wanted to prove, the initial comment was pretty much perfect
his kit is so mediocre that these numbers LS saw got buffed since the diamonds/masters that play pbe were struggling vs gold/plat players on customs from how weak he was

Aaah it will be lovely to get kited when flash Down, even till 6 with a pain in the ass lanning. Definitely not a straight forward Champ, he will have to get creative with Flanks and Maybe the help of Righteous Glory on later stages of the game. It is Easy to see a Black Cleaver/Steraks/Glory Essential Items choise. Although looks like a jungler. Can he R+Flash? Can he R+Flash Behind Ult Backwards?

SelectorOfSouls It’s not the appearance, it’s his animations and the fact that his q is an auto reset like vi’s e, he has a shield on his w and deals damage behind a target another punch ability, and the ult taking a target and slamming them on the ground is pretty similar even though they work slightly different. If you’re going to make multiple characters that are focused on punching you could make them much more different from each other.

But more to your points: their punch patterns are different, even if slightly. The AoE punch is a straight AoE, not a target splash effect. Vi's aa reset is also her AoE ability. Sett's reset has a ms steroid.
Sure they both slam someone to the ground, but vi gets to target from far away, Sett has to be in melee range to grab them. Vi knocks other people out of the way as she travels, Sett deals damage in an area at impact.
The feel and playstyles are very different. I really cant compare them in any MEANINGFUL way.

Like if you were a developer and had all of the information in front of you, you have 1 other champion that is based around being a "boxer" or however you want to view it. You have the option to make them very different. Like I could easily see this being a Vi rework that they release later and people would say "yeah that makes sense" still feels like Vi. Obviously they are different just, i expected them to be very different from the perspective of the people who created them.

vi's q is pretty trash with selfslow and chargeup its not THAT much faster than running to your target and its a completely straight movement
sett gets to gapclose by clicking instead of casting a straight spell which means he can chase you down while dodging and having counterplay
you cant counter vi ult tho, and that sets her up for an easy Q

If yall have noticed, riot's been cutting down hard on the mobility of the newer champs (Senna, Aphelios, Sett) in what I think is an effort to move away from the every champ has a million dashes powercreep route
I guess they finally realized that mobility isn't what makes a champion fun or unique. Senna is a great example of that.

Tiamat -> triforce (way better than black cleaver since he has true damage already and attack speed works too well on this guy) -> steraks/warmogs/sunfire/spirit visage/wits end (all situational).
Sun fire is either a 1st item or never. That is never a 4th or 5th item for a reason.

This feels like the Garen of Season 10. Simpler champion, beginner friendly, good for learning the game, easy to farm on, lower learning curve...I mean tbh it's nice of Riot to release some champions like this after Qiyana , Senna, Aphelios and other skill intensive champions with a lot of room for mastery. However I feel like the hitbox on the W is a bit to OP and doesn't really allow any room for outplay so it might not be the most fun to play against. Most champions that could outplay his W, champions with blinks/dashes, are most likely not strong enough to actually kill him once they get in that position soooo in a way playing against this champion is like resident sleeper lane...basically you can't really win against him on lane and all you can do is scale better then him and win later on in the game...that's just my opinion though...ofc there are soooome champions that could maybe deal with him in lane like Renekton, Yorick , maybe even Riven or Fiora if they get buffed a bit but yeah other then that idk.
No champion is hard in the sens that you need 3 hands to play it(maybe only lee sin). But one thing that all those champs that I mentioned have in comon is that they have a lot of potential, and while they are maybe not the hardest to get into they are hard in the sens that there is a lot of room for mastering them and they still get poped off really easy(more senna then aphelios who is yet to see his first set of nerfs). Most likely both senna and aphelios will still see nerfs along the line and while they might be easy to pick up now I bet they wont be anymore in a few months when their base stats will go down.

Sett is going to be meta defining or completely useless.
The ult is such a powerful counter engage and will make most tanks useless, and the scalings are so varied that he'll be incredibly hard to balance.
Really interesting champ, I look forward to the ADC tears and their Cho'Gath gets dropped on them.
Over all there's too much to really go over in a comment anyone will bother reading but I think he could be one of the strongest champs ever on release.
Also, he's a super obvious Trinity Sterak's champ because he has like 130 base AD and a Q which is an auto attack enhancer which also has a cooldown period of roughly the cooldown of Trinity force. Additionally, the Sterak's shield combined with the W Shield will let him get 3-4K of shielding late game and possibly allow a second W cast before he dies and just make him insanely tanky and burst proof, without trading off much in the way of HP which he wants because t converts into damage.

You should've taken a closer look at how his abilities actually play out.
His base AS is really low. That holds him back early.
His R has far less range than Vi R and does not hard CC for nearly as long.
His W has a veeery long casting time. Not so long that it is easy to dodge, but long enough to make its high dmg worth it. That said, his W is not exactly "active" when you do not take a lot of dmg.
And while 30% MS is nice(and he backs it up with his very reliable E), it is still not very strong. 1.5s is not that long, 30% is not that much.
He works like a less-bursty, less-CC version of Vi, trading this for far higher dps and tankiness. So actually a rather different beast.
Also... CertainlyT would be a better designer for a single player game ^^"

Q is an aa reset and get titanic for the aa reset, left/right q left/right titanic left/right trade is insane. Titanic/Cleaver/tank depending on enemy team seems best to me.

Sett is so simple, comparatively speaking, that they can release him 2 weeks after Aphelios. Nice change of pace tho, to give the game a new champ instead of reworking an old one and to not make them overly complex/flexible/innovative or introducing new mechanics

even still, vi im pretty sure was intended as a jungler his intended as a laner even though his jungle is alright.
vi has way more mobility, if setts e was his ult and had some mobillity on his r maybe a dash with a shield like rivens e then he will have a higher impact.

Actually watch Vi champion spotlight or anything like that and you will learn she was designed with toplane as a main role xD Just like morgana was designed to be a midlaner.

sett cannot exactly be a split pusher cause dualist best him, e.g the jax fiora, jax is a dualist/brusier.
brusers are generally 4 tank items 1 dmg item and boots. dualist are 3-4 dmg items boots and a defencive item.
i didnt know she was intended as a top laner i always assumed it was jungle sinse release.
but even after watching game play ive only watched early laning phase cause the rest is easy to know she is strong but i just believe their are so many more benefical picks.

now her kits out dated to match a lot of the current champion pools.
vi as a top laner though yeah no idea what they were thinking though ive done it and it felt reasonably ok and good options for team mates to gank how ever im not sure.
but its her mobility that allows her to be a successful jungler, while set has less mobility and a little more damage.
