    Older guy here. I prefer this format over the 4-tabling format because I have difficulties to follow the speed of 4 fast fold tables. When I'm playing I can do only 3 normal tables simultaneously. More than this and my brain capacity is overloaded.

    20:01 "Clear fold"? Since we unblock missed flush draws, and we had top pair until the river, isn't it a clear CALL? Yes, villian can have JT but seems to me like his value range (Ax who decided to call both flop and turn so probably aces up + JT + sets) is smaller compared to his bluff range (missed flush draws) and so he will have more than 1 bluff for every 2 value combo (hero needs just to be good below 33% as bet was below pot). Seems like an overbluffed node as well. I'm confused.

    • @CarrotCornerPoker
      @CarrotCornerPoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I disagree. We have a reg cold calling and filtering on flop then a run out that is really hard to miss. Very few natural bluffs here so I don’t think blockers come into it. Blockers swing things by 1-4% on average and I think this is more underbluffed than that due to an abundance of value hands and not much air remaining by river.

    Hi Pete. I had a couple hands I wanted to run by you if you have time. These were literally back to back against the same player within 1 orbit. Just looking for your thoughts on how I played them and what I could have done better.
    Hand 1-TT on the btn. CO raises to 3bb, hero raises to 7bb, BB and CO call. Flop is Td 4h 8d, BB bets 10bb CO folds, hero raises to 35bb and I get called. Turn is the 6h, and BB moves all in for 32bb and I snap call. River is Jh and BB shows the king high flush and wins 148bb.
    Hand 2- KK in the CO. folds to hero who opens to 2.4bb, btn folds, Sb and BB calls. We see a flop of 2h 7d 3s. SB leads out 7bb, hero raises to 45bb SB calls. Turn comes the 6h SB checks and hero fires 60bb, SB calls the river comes the 9h and SB leads out 41bb all in, I snap call and SB shows Ah3h for another backdoor flush and takes down 284bb.
    The first hand I don't think I played wrong, just wrong side of variance. The second hand, I thought about jamming the turn, but went for the 3/4th sizing as the pot was already huge. I went for the huge flop reraise as i thought he was weak and i was making him think it was a tilt reraise. ( worked perfect till the river lol)Can you give me some tips to improve my game?

    Love this format much more than the smaller table play/explain. Nice to look at, even if we miss a little action.
    Regarding your 1BB bet on Acxcxc flop, it was explained to me that we have giant nut advantage on mono tone boards UNLESS they contain an A or K, then the nut advantage swaps to villain, but we still have massive range advantage. To hear you mention "polarization" sort of threw me off. Or by "polarization" do you simply mean "dont polarize here" aka 'bet small?'

    When Pete jams the flush (Kh3h) and gets called by the straight, are there hands that would be better bluff catchers than the straight, is that part of why its a bad call? Or is it a bad call simply because it is an underbluffed spot?

    • @CarrotCornerPoker
      @CarrotCornerPoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s bad because it’s highly losing vs the average range that makes this jam. Try not to overcomplicate!

    Ok the hand where you called down with 77 on the 822 K board, wouldn't it not be overbluffed by UTG because they have a much tighter range compared to button

    • @calebleeb5775
      @calebleeb5775 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know for certain - but I think what he's saying is that UTG is relying more heavily on a range advantage than they should - even if their range connects with the board better, most people in the player pool will generally be incentivized to bluff with Any 2 because "erm doesn't this guy know I'm UTG? I'm uncapped and have you CRUSHED in theory buddy..." I guess they'll only ever barrel on a genuine made hand or complete air and they don't balance that polarization properly (i.e. they'll take 90% of their garbage and bluff instead of the necessary 50% to be a balanced player)

    • @CarrotCornerPoker
      @CarrotCornerPoker  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This one is a bit marginal but it’s a more overbluffed texture than most in MDA. You’re correct that the position makes it less bluffed. As always there is a push-pull affect from multiple factors.

    Most interested in hands with showdown, anything else is speculative sand we can't really learn anything concrete

    • @CarrotCornerPoker
      @CarrotCornerPoker  ปีที่แล้ว

      This might not be what you want to hear but I think that you have the wrong view here. In fact quite the opposite to a healthy relationship with variance/showdowns/learning poker. Showdowns only show you what the opponent had on one occasion - one piece of their range. Due to the amount of uncertain and unknown information in poker we should be playing vs what we think the opponent’s entire range of hands is on average and this isn’t verifiable from a showdown. We can’t tell from a showdown how well we played.

In some other video where I give up river a few times it will look like I’m passive. I urge you to watch more and try to be objective about every spot. Once you’ve done that how about you come back and call me a station again and I’ll challenge you to heads up for bankrolls. And I will call down all of your bluffs. ALL of THEM.
