It’s amazing to me that the Food Network hired her in the first place. I suspect that it was because people knew the name and not because of her cooking expertise. The first shows demonstrated her lack of knowledge in this area; but , she learned along the way. She is likeable and comfortable in front of the camera.
I've always thought that the reasons behind her show being canceled and being let go from Kids Baking had a lot to do with the aftermath of Eddie's death. She went on and on about him being her true love and soulmate. Then changed her story. Also her ugly divorce from Tom Vitale. I don't think FN wanted all of the negative publicity
Since it's common knowledge that Bertinelli struggles with her weight issues she isn't too bright in choosing writing cookbooks & hosting cooking shows. Maybe she ought to pursue something that isn't food related. Like exercise or history.
@@lindakoch8406 Nope. Very serious. I had the same struggles. Had to make some major changes in my life 12 years ago. I started & operated a successful catering service for many years. For me, since I also struggled with my weight, it was time to make a drastic change. I made a tidy profit, started using my linguistics skills to translate documents. Nothing to do with food or food prep. For me this worked well. I reduced my weight to a healthy amount. Maintained it since then. Some people can work around food & maintain a healthy weight, not me. Obviously, not Val, either. I wish her well.
