    Thanks for a great review. I've just bought a 2019 Street Triple R and you have reinforced my feelings. It's a very well rounded bike. I've just come from a run of owning MV Agusta's and the fueling is night and day; the Triumph is perfectly set up.

      @@runeluqman unfortunately that bike fell through and I never found another one I liked. I ended up with a 2017 Kawasaki Z1000SX. Good bike, did about 6k miles on it but could never get comfortable. Now got a '24 BMW F900R and it's brilliant! Agile as the 675 but not as hyper, engine not as good as the triple, which is the best engine around in my opinion, but it's really comfortable, good looking, lots of tech and great fun. Take a look at one of these, you'll be surprised.

    I’ve gotten an indicated 141mph out of mine (on a track here in the NW, 112 top on the street), with throttle to spare. At 120 it’s still pulls like a truck! Best bike I’ve ever had and really enjoyed your review. This bike goes like stink above 8k!! Such a spirited, look where you want to go surgical machine. So well put together and thought out! I just love this bike!!

    • @rontrose
      @rontrose 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guy On a Bike I suspect if it had a taller 6th (which I would like anyway), it would keep going. As you know it’s best between 40-110. The frame geometry and weight is spectacular. It’s far more capable than I’ll ever be, that’s for sure. Tons of horsepower, but so refined and nimble. I have the same paint scheme. Remus Hypercone slip on and couple other goodies (Rizoma bar end mirrors, techspec tank grips). Such a versatile, stealth little bike. I just love it. Cheers!!!

    • @rontrose
      @rontrose 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Guy On a Bike I also have the Powerbronze windscreen fitted on my bike. It’s a game changer. If you make any other mod I highly recommend. You can tuck and get tons of clean air right above your helmet. Makes it a more versatile machine. It looks proper (comes in 20 colors and is really think and high quality) and gives you another comfortable 25+ mph on the top end of wind protection. It really is stealth and works. It is a sports bike really and the windscreen really lets you open it up

    • @rontrose
      @rontrose 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      In the interest of full disclosure, I will say that I think the TFT, while brilliant runs about 8-10mph faster once you get past 110. I was probably doing 125-130mph not 141. It’s fast enough for me and I had throttle to spare. If i decide to keep it (which is very likely) I might put a y’all 6th not for more speed, but keep it down on revs at highway speeds. 1-5 are all the sporty I need!

    I've also the 2018 street triple R but the only changes I've made are a quickshifter, tail tidy and levers, just a small correction on the bikes specs, you gave the top speed as 120mph but it's actually 150 were the restrictor kicks in.

      @@jellybean8495 None of the above. The dealers by me would not allow a test ride on the KTM or Triumph because of Covid. The ergos of the R NineT were not to my liking. So I went in a completely different direction and kept my R1200 GS for the road and bought a Husqvarna 701 Enduro for off road because it is so much lighter.

    Hello, I just picked up my own 18' Street Triple R a few days ago and it came with a quick shifter, heated grips, windscreen, and arrow exhaust =). My question is, when I press the button under the little white heated grips indicator, nothing seems to happen. I was wondering what the proper way to turn them on is?

    • @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog
      @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Tito - yes, that's the proper and only way to turn them on... nothing else is needed. You should then see the following on the display as you press the button to cycle through the settings: Off, Low, High.
      If you don't see that, or they don't get warm, then they're not working as they should and need some attention.

    I've test ridden one and it made a bit of a rattle up front which was noticeable at idle and low revs, dealer tells me they're a noisy bike and that noise is normal, no one seems to comment about that, maybe it's because I'm used to Japanese bikes but it made me doubt the refinement of the engine.

    • @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog
      @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not something I noticed or have heard anyone else suggest - in fact I found it a little quiet if anything, hence the Yoshi. As for the engine. the fact that it's been adopted for this season's Moto2 GP series says it all, I'd say.

    • @EskiLdn
      @EskiLdn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've noticed this on my 2015 Street triple, dealer said its just the normal sound of the bike. But it sounds like a ball-bearing rattling around, once you hear it its hard to un-hear it. It also seems to happen mainly when the bike is cold but i dunno, maybe i just stop noticing it after awhile.
      Anyway, im still so happy with the bike that i might actually upgrade to the 2019/20 bike when i can or go for a speed.

      Guy On a Bike I have the 18 RS in gray and I also hear the noise up front. It’s almost the sound of some piece of plastic catching the wheel. Imagine you getting your first bicycle when you’re a kid and you intentionally put plastic or a can in your wheels to make it sound like a motorcycle. That’s the sound I hear.

  • @mark222b
    @mark222b 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Are those the RS bar end mirrors, and not the chunkier ones available through the triumph accessories catalog? Also, being the lrh model, have you ever scraped the belly pan, like on speed bumps or deep potholes? Do you enjoy the triple better than the street twin?

    • @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog
      @GuyOnaBikeMotovlog  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, they're the OEM bar ends. I've never been aware whist riding that it's the LRH - the difference in seat height is less than 2 inches but aside from lowered suspension the bike is identical to the standard to my knowledge. I'd have thought that any difference in the engine's ground clearance would be minimal.

    5 years on and still a worthwhile review. Thanks for it! Question if you would be so kind: Does the flyscreen impact much more than appearance? Like does it actually help with wind blast or repel flies? Sustained speeds >90MPH the windblast gets tiring so I'm considering one if it would help.
