    My father died of Bileduct cancer, my mother had (and is now clearof) breast ccancer but has also had many endocrine issues, my niece has an autoimmune issue and my sister just passed from pancreatic cancer. This is all unnatural.
    When I went to my sisters to support her I asked if she was willing to have me completely clean everything up and change her food etc.
    She said yes. I cannot tell you how much I threw out. I am not a waster but everything she had was chemical heavy, from cleaning supplies for body and home, makeups and creams, then the food, processed filled with so many toxic additives despite being labeled helathy or organic. I hate throwing stuff out that is usable but refused to pass that kind of stuff on to others. I added clean and fresh foods. Grains and more, Clean deodorants (antiperspirants be damned) My niece was watching and listening - the very same one with autoimmune and digestive issues (at 18) and she started throwing stuff out.
    Unfortunately my sister was too far along to change the direction of things but at least we were able to stabilize her so she had time with her daughter.
    I see a lot of comments about how expensive eating healthy is or having healthy cleansers is, but I will suggest otherwise. When you eat healthy items your body gets what it needs and you require far less food to satiate the body so the cost balances out. You can make most cleansers, body or home with fairly low cost items and there are so many recipes online.
    Basically it comes down to this....what will cost you more poor health or wellbeing? If you are too sick to work what will happen. This is the idea, vote with your dollars. Say no to the companies and they will need to change their ways.
    I am tired of watching people be sick for no better reason that we have been told we are not good enough without all the marketed items. You are worthy of a good life. The companies for the most part don't give a shit. If you see an add telling you how much better you will be with a product assume it is actually the opposite.

    I've got a warning about Aspartame (Nutrasweet). In 1991, 3 people I knew were diagnosed with Graves Disease: my neighbor's 70-yr-old mom, my aerobics teacher/boss at the YMCA, and my ecology professor at UNT. I thought it very weird that Barbara & George Bush were both diagnosed with Graves Disease at the exact same time. One day, my professor announced, "You may have a sub next week. They're going to remove my thyroid because I have GRAVES." I made a connection between my professor and my boss - they both drank A LOT of DIET SODA. My professor always drank 1, sometimes 2 cans during a 1-hour class. I stayed after class that day and said to her, "Before you let them remove your thyroid, you should take ASPARTAME out of your diet," and I pointed to the Diet Soda on her desk. I gave her the number of a nutritionist who owned a small, local health food store, and she did call & talk with her. My neighbor's mother went ahead & let doctors remove her thyroid. She ended up permanently blind in one eye as her PRESCRIBED DOSE of thyroid replacement hormones was originally too high. My professor took Aspartame out of her diet and, within days, all symptoms of Graves disease disappeared!. My professor organized an international gathering of scientists to present their research on how Aspartame disrupts hormones, affects the brain, etc. Last minute, our university canceled the whole thing for no good reason. The professor scrambled to move the conference to a nearby hotel. A HUGE anonymous donation was given to University of North Texas to finish out the fundraising for the new football stadium. I've had suspicion that the donation was linked to pulling the plug on the international conference on ASPARTAME. My professor, Janet Starr-Hull, eventually wrote a book, "Sweet Poison." She's tried for 30+ years to get it banned from food & drink. Instead of being banned, ASPARTAME's use has exploded. It is now in 100's if not 1000's of products. Read labels. Avoid it at all costs. NOTE: Splenda (Sucralose) has its own issues.

      @@christinewaldvogel174 Hey Christine, I'm not the author of original comment but I make my own natural skin care products. Regarding deodorant, I mix shea butter, coconut oil, baking soda, arrowroot powder, and tea tree oil. If you are sensitive to baking soda you can replace it with a small amount of bentonite clay. The ratio depends on the consistency you desire and that's pretty much determined by where you live. I live in hot, humid south Florida so my receipe is going to be different from someone who lives up north. Hope that helps! 😊 As for hair - I just use shampoo bars (without baking soda) so I cannot answer to that.

      @@bluebutterflywellness2273 i live up north and i realized(after 30 years) i don't usually have any odors(i used to never sweat but now after reading dr batmanghelidj i drink enough water and do sweat) but i buy all my clothes from thrift stores(because i'm allergic to formaldehyde and most many? clothes/products are sprayed with it in dept stores, but i can't seem to smell it/i've never been able to smell very well but in recent years have been regaining some smells but since i can't smell the formaldehyde i don't know when it's off the new clothes) but still find i have to "soak" the clothes from thrift stores in baking soda to try to eliminate the laundry soap/last person's deodorant perfume smells AND then wash them sometime up to 7 or 8 times before the "perfume" smell is gone but sometimes i end up realizing i haven't washed the shirt enough and while i'm wearing them can still faintly smell the perfume/soaps/deodorant the last person had AND when that happens sometimes for a few days i might get a b.o. smell on myself and so i think that the bo smell is from whoever had that shirt before me and then something? maybe bacteria/viruses/other microbes are transferred from the shirt to me but then i must have something that eliminates them after a few days(i hardly shower anymore because of my problems with eczema) but even if i don't use baking soda to try to deal with the bo it still ends up going away after a few days it's never been strong enough of an odor that anyone else has pointed it out tho and if i use baking soda it immediately goes away...i garden and i had thought maybe it was because i ended up getting dirt("clean" garden soil) in my armpits because i have small hands and like tight fitting gloves and sometime it's difficult to take the gloves off so i'd use my armpit area my arms against my side to take the gloves off and i had kinda wondered if that soil somehow helped the bo? or maybe it's just because i've started to eat such a healthy diet?? idk but if for some reason/like i wear a shirt that someone else had on and i get smelly just smearing dry baking soda on them or if i'm not sweaty at all using a damp washcloth and then applying the dry baking soda works to get rid of ANY/ALL odor like immediately and seems to last indefinitely for me, seeing how i hardly shower(i probably shower 5 times a year now! about 10 years ago i lessened from average of daily showering to only once a week then my skin improved so much that it quickly(within a year) became just once a month showering then after about a year my skin was almost flawless and so since then for probably about 8 years it's been about 5 showers a year)...which i would NOT recommend only showering 5 times a year for anyone else/most people tho!, dr zack bush had talked about how we're all probably pretty low in magnesium and that while we do absorb some magnesium from our food we absorb it best thru our skin and soaking in a bath with epsom salts is the best way to bring up our magnesium levels and alas the last blood work i got mine was on the low end...i've been trying to soak my feet but if i do it more than once every other week the water gives me eczema on my toes...

    • @Meloniraelewis
      @Meloniraelewis 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      well technically baking soda is a chemical even water is a chemical....AND also natural is usually awesome but not if it's something like lead or cyanide these things occur naturally but can be harmful if overdosed!...
      someone asked about the "shampoo'' and i just put baking soda in my hair dry if the hair is "greasy" or kinda flat it makes it look like you just washed it/more puffy or frizzy idk what to call it but like bouncier or fluffier!, i saw some other "craft" video that was saying if you have dark hair you can just use cinnamon instead of baking soda, which i never tried but always wondered!? i have dark brown hair but i use the baking soda anyway(i had before i'd seen that video) but i can definitely see the baking soda sometimes which i just try to comb/shake out and it still works well to degrease or take any odor away tho...maybe if you're worried about being able to see it or if you have to wear a dark shirt(altho any time i get baking soda on a dark shirt it just easily wipes away/1 shirt i had was made of some strange material and i would have to use a dry paper towel to wipe it away) the cinnamon would be worth a try?
      i have found tho that the less i wash my hair the less "greasy" it gets too or yes it does eventually get greasy but it takes longer for the hair to look dirty/greasy, i do try to comb/brush my hair less too because when you brush/comb your scalp produces natural oils that you then spread down thru the hair...i personally have to worry about my hair tho because i can't shower as often because the water is bad for my eczema so i do end up washing my hair more often than showering because i'm very allergic to pollens and pollen/dander/other allergens can stick in/on your hair then you can be "re" exposed or continually exposed to the allergens(idk for sure but i'd assume pollution too) so i tend to use a hat(winter hat/bandana/etc) to cover my hair as much as possible, so i might be exposing my hair to less pollution/dirt/pollens also so that might be partly why too not just that washing it less is leading to the hair staying cleaner for a longer time but i also "protect" or shield my hair because of my allergies. i just personally find it easier to wash my hat/hair covering everyday that way i don't have to wash my hair so often...but i think the hair staying cleaner looking for longer is partly due to the washing it less and partly due to the trying to keep it cleaner/shielded from the environment when i can...but when one starts to wash their hair daily instead of weekly the scalp adapts to this and creates higher levels of natural oils(because your always washing them away) but when you go from daily washing to weekly, it will take a little time but your scalp will also adapt and make less natural oil because your not washing it away so much! so overtime with the scalp having to make less natural oils the hair will not be as greasy as fast...i hope that makes sense...
      one last thing if we are eating a super healthy diet it's going to have way less oils/fat and so one would assume that since this helps improve or get rid of oily skin/acne it would also help with ANY/all oily/greasy "problems" like overly greasy/oily hair. so maybe my diet is also helping my hair to be less "greasy"? or to stay "cleaner" for longer when i do wash it?

We can just be aware and do the best we can but if I had to worry about this all day long I couldn't function. Haven’t fully watched it yet but here’s my experience going fully natural with my cosmetic products: I had really bad acne and I would buy the most expensive face washes and creams but nothing seemed to work. Then I met my girlfriend and she told me that a part of the reason for my acne was that I used these products. Conventional face wash gets the oil out of the skin because oily skin = acne. However these products made my skin so dry that it therefore would be way more susceptible for acne, this is something they don’t want to tell you. Right now I use Loveli face wash and I couldn’t recommend it more.
    The cosmetic industry is based on the idea that you NEED their hair, face and body products. I have not washed my hair with shampoo in 2 years now and I don’t use hair products at all. My hair has never been healthier.

    Rich Roll - What he is talking about as far as food products go (which he obviously doesn't know much about) are "excitotoxin" additives or anything produced in a laboratory - including so called "natural vitamins and minerals"- which are constituents that were in the plant which grew in Nature and then isolated in the laboratory. HOWEVER in the laboratory constituents that were bound together are chemically separated and put in food and supplements as additives or "natural flavors" or "natural vitamins" but they are no longer recognizable by the body as food as they were when they were part of the plant bound to buffers and other constituents - which can be differentiated from something truly natural -that would be a plant or animal produced in Nature. Words to look for ON LABELS are : enriched, fortified, conditioners, proteins, hydrolized, gums, flavors, seasonings and spices (when the seasonings and spices aren't listed), Citric Acid, Ascorbic Acid, "natural flavors" and there are many more. Dr Katherine Reid has a list on her website unblindmymind.org or Dr. Russel Blaylock's book EXCITOTOXINS: THE TASTE THAT KILLS. Both of these people could answer your question about what to look for on the label better and would be great guests on your show!

    I'm a highly sensitive person. I've known it all my 54 years but didn't have a formal name for it until just a few years ago. For more than 40 of those years I called myself the Princess and the Pea and felt an affinity for the Fall of the House of Usher eponymous family members. Circa 1990, the term "Environmental Illness" came in vogue, yet that pathologized the sufferer rather than the source of the problem. We're not hypersensitive victims but canaries in the coalmine; rather, we react more evidently to the bazillion toxins we put in our environment and in and on our bodies that ARE harming everybody, just more subtly and perniciously. It was nice to have an umbrella term to throw out there, but I'm much happier that the real problems are at least being nominally addressed.
    When I first started working in offices, smoking was still permitted in break rooms, bars, and restaurants, in California. I had two or three migraines regularly-which was also due to the fluorescent lighting and chemical cleaners. A few years later I had my first encounter with an electric air freshener in a motel: I couldn't breathe so hung outside nearly in tears while my doddering grandfather found the first one and eventually the second. It smelled horrible, but by nightfall at least I was able to breathe and sleep inside. Nowadays I only use scent-free products, avoid highly processed foods for the most part, preferring organic (despite the deception therein) to at least avoid most unnecessary toxins. Turns out I'm allergic to dust mites (really their poop, honestly) and the entire Alternaria genus, among a few other perfectly natural things, like rabbits, cats, allium, and lanolin; so I really don't need any artificial irritants in my life. I can't touch the carpet in my bedroom room lest it cause contact dermatitis. I still unknowingly consume glyphosate on fresh produce certified organic that duplicitous growers then contaminate just before shipping to stores, most notably hydroponically grown, like tomatoes; likewise when it's used to dry grain AFTER organic certification. There are no enforceable right-to-know laws in the USA. Corporations' "liberties" trump individuals'. Supposedly we have a choice what to consume, but we really don't, even when we grow most of it ourselves.

    First, let me say I love Darin’s energy and efforts to help others become healthier. He seems like a really nice guy and I’m sure his heart is in the right place. But it seems that most of the claims he is making (not all of them) about chemicals in the body just don’t stack up to real world risks. And every major independent research institution/University has determined that deodorants, shampoos, diapers, makeup, detergents, etc. just don’t have as big of effect of some of the wellness gurus lead us to believe. I think it’s good to know these chemicals are there, and try to avoid them as best we can, but focus more on the things we can all do that have a quantitative life and health span improving effect; exercise, eat well, have social connections and support, mental well-being, and good sleep.

    • @spiral-m
      @spiral-m ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I would question "independent". It seems like your word against his. Why are his studies so wrong and yours are right? Plus, precautionary principle should apply. Way too many unknowns to establish long-term safety with such complex and new cocktails by any major research institutions, even if no conflicts of interest.

    • @drewbuckner8331
      @drewbuckner8331 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@spiral-m Good point. And I do think the precautionary principle should apply. But even Rich said that the information in the book is so overwhelming, the average person just simply doesn't know where to start. A lot of people have a hard enough time trying to get decent sleep, exercise, eat well. And most do not have the financial resources to implement many of the suggestions. I'm not saying this topic isn't important, just not really proven either way. So yes, we should be mindful, aware, and use precaution for sure.

    • @spiral-m

      @@drewbuckner8331 It is certainly another ball-game dealing with it. I tend not to trust the regulatory bodies - too many documented corruption and industry-biased study selection. The system is toxic. therefore I remain unconvinced by their "scientific" statements if that comprises proof for you. Examples in Germany where I live (the country isn't even the most corrupt) - the BfA (new chemicals, new medicaments) used Monsanto readers' letters as proof that glyphosate isn't harmful, the DGE (nutrition and supplements) states that vitamin d's positive affect on Covid outcomes is unproven and that the supplement is not used to treat illnesses an outrageous lie in both instances, the regulatory body for nuclear power stations has its own representatives on the board of the State nuclear power safety approvals, etc etc.

My next set of blogs will be on chemicals. I've done some blogs on chemicals like scented laundry detergent but I want to dive in deeper and your book will be my "bible" for posting. We do differ in our approach to "diet." I'm not pro vegan. I'm pro properly sourced animal protein whereby the animals are raised and fed sustainably and their lives are ended as humanly as possible. I'm curious, what would you say if I asked you if a bear should put down it's fresh caught stream salmon and eat berries instead? It's hard for me to understand the thinking of vegans as I believe the dense nutrition from animal products (again I'm very specific in the animals I choose and raise them as well) is needed for optimal health.
