Now my head canon is that So Mi and Lucy met in the moon became friends and talked about how they were saved by Night City's Legends. Coincidentally both of them are netrunners too.
So the bar in the show/game Afterlife has a drink named after the people turned legends in Night City after they die/killed. One of Johnny Silverhand and there's also one named after David too. The world building is crazy. It's nice to see that the show isn't some show, but also a part of the world of cyberpunk too. You can even visit their apartment too.
i think we all had the same rebecca reaction but since she was my fav I could not handle it bruh I was just... distraught for days. Couldnt touch another anime ;-; needless to say I picked up the game and did what needed to be done..

I believe Because Lucy was able to bring David back to his senses after jumping head first into cyberpsychosis, she saved his life by making David a Must have to Arasaka. Adam Smasher was sent to Stop the Cyber Skeleton and David if needed, I think that is why he responded that He 'has business with the kid' when faridey told him to kill him and not just as a 'you don't tell me what to do' thing. and why he told David 'he could prove an interesting Construct.' IMO David did not say No to the offer. We never saw the final Shot, just a scene transition, odd considering how gory the series is to show essentially clip art blood splatter for David. And because we kept seeing him shot in the intro we just assume he was shot in the head and not Adam finishing off what was left of the Cyber Skeleton.

I really wished for david to get like a nomad ending where lucy tries to save him along with falco from arasakas experiments. But still. Probably one of most fucked up endings even by trigger studio standarts.Tho considering how fucking insanely sucessfull it was doing s2 would be a no brainer tho only with lucy/david coz whats the point of new cast? trigger would probably also kille all of them. Tho if they really wanted to they could find millions of reasons to revive/make david come back. Coz this ending was just pure fucking tragedy not bittersweet just bitter Lucy got her dream to see the moon but realized that she only wanted to be with david and david wasnt able to realize that she didnt care about moon when she started to be with him. It's an on going IP, even if there is no second season to the anime, the cyberpunk story continues in the game. You know the one where the MC, V, was brought back to life after a shot to the head by an Arasaka's Biochip with the engram of Silverhand. So who's wrong? either way I'm still hoping the edgerunner's storyline isn't over
No clue why you're just bypassing the fact that David's grave is in the game. Suppose you could go on to say that it could be fake but then there's the fact that the reason he was valuable in the 1st place only works if he's actually alive still. Turning him into a construct defeats what they wanted/needed him for. So no that wouldn't have been Arasaka's end goal in the end. Take a couple to think about it for a moment. It was his body that was much stronger than his mind. A point that was noted basically every episode. So what good would it be to them to rid him of that and instead take his mind. If that was all they needed in the 1st place then they wouldn't have needed to bother with a lot of the stuff that happened. Not to mention the episode before their main plan was to have his body test out the skeleton, get the data, and have him wiped out by Max Tech. They literally said well shit since they didn't off him like planed it's up to you Adam. There's even more things I can mention but I've already typed enough. If you already blantely disregarded this many plot points then it's likely pointless then, I'm just saving others from having to waste time getting into the obvious on here. I'm still reeling at the fact that you tried you used V's situation as a reasoning. V. A character who came back cause she was literally givin the ONLY prototype biochip with the ability to do that. Don't even get me started that the chip didn't technically bring her back but was bringing Silverhand back (cause duh that's how it works and it's purpose) by using V's body and replacing their mind with whoever's in the chip. So "what's wrong" is since David's storyline was before such a thing existed and when such a thing did exist it was stated that it was a one of a kind thing that's able to "bring back the dead". So there was nothing like it before. It why the chip was a big thing in the first place at the time. Not even in production yet. Don't confuse what a regular construct is to an one of a kind construct on a one of a kind bio-chip.
