I have a 23 I6 LTD AWD in the same color. I love Ultimate Red and I chose it over Transmission Blue because that shade of slate blue gray is all over the road on Subarus, Toyota, and other brands. This dark, metallic red is refined and elegant to my eye. Thanks for the continued vids - I hope this car does well for you in the snow and I will be looking forward to hearing about your experience this Winter. For me, my AWD I6 performed every bit as well in the snow as my Audi A4 which was my DD for 13 years.

I do like your red color, but it’s available only with the black interior, and I prefer the light gray inside. And for the record, I have the Limited AWD, lowest fuel efficiency of the lineup, but after one year of ownership in Virginia, through all four seasons, no huge snowfall but some icy conditions, mixture of in-town and highway driving, I averaged 3.7 mi/kWh over that year. The slippery shape makes it efficient and super quiet! I love my car!

I have the Ionic 6 limited RWD and love it. For the AA/CP, I bought a cheap wireless dongle to have a wireless feature. Get good range on 20" wheels, around 310-320 miles on a full charge, in ECO mode. I have the digital green, and with the tinted windows, looks stealthy.

The looks of the car are definitely polarizing, but I think it grows on you, and that's a nice red color. I think a liftback would be much more practical than a trunk as you could likely load 2 bikes inside with the rear seat folded.

Pretty color. When shopping for my 2024 ionic five I also considered the six. I prefer the crossover platform so I ended up going with the five limited. To get additional range I got the RWD version. I find that after driving a BMW EV that the RWD Hyundai doesn’t have power until put into sports mode. I find the sports mode helpful when it’s extremely windy. Otherwise, I drive in normal mode. I love my ionic five!

The color suits the car, and you have the best efficiency/range you can get, if that is your goal.
Here in Germany, the AWS Limited range is more than enough for me, and we have a very dense net of HPCs all along the main roads, so I enjoy all the features (First Edition in Gravity Gold).
Too bad they don't give you the bigger frunk, but European/Korean RDW inserts should just fit, maybe you can find something from the aftermarket.

Congrats on getting the Ioniq 6. I have to admit that the hard plastics would be a deal breaker for me. I frequently drive with my left elbow resting on the driver’s door trim. When I had the Ioniq 5 Limited, it has a nice soft trim there. I traded the Ioniq 5 in for a 2nd hand Audi e-tron, which I got at a bargain price, and was the most luxurious car I’ve ever driven. Unfortunately that car was deemed a total loss after a relatively minor accident recently, and I ended up leasing the cheapest EV I could get with decent quality interior plastics and ventilated seats. This is the new Tesla Model 3 RWD. I would encourage folks considering the Ioniq 6 to also look at the new Model 3. It’s a different vehicle without question and doesn’t have close to the range of the Ioniq 6. But it’s insanely fun to drive, still gets around 4.5m/kWh, and come standard with many features that you’d only be able to get on the Limited trim of the Ioniq 6 like adaptive cruise control with lane assist, ventilated seats, an awesome sound system, and more, and the suspension on the new Model 3 is the perfect balance of sport and comfort. The steering is ideally weighted. I honestly hate Elon, and didn’t like the previous gen Teslas because I found them very harsh to drive suspension wise. But for the price, you can’t get better, and this drives like a dream. Also, there is a massive 3rd party market for it, so for example, I’m getting a center mounted screen that includes Apple CarPlay, and the primary items that are typically only on the right hand side screen, like speed, range, etc, right on the screen for $260.

I had a 2020 model 3 which I did enjoy while I had it. I was cross shopping the Ioniq 6 and the refreshed model 3. I choose the i6 mainly for fit and finish, looks as I think it looks magnificent, and I don't want to own a Tesla. The ride is quiet, and the performance level is comparable to the model 3. The de-content of the model 3 was also a drawback. it is not about getting used to it; it is about why should I. The model 3 does have the nicer interior and better tech, but for me it is not enough to make up for its other short comings.

I was wondering what those slots in the trim next to the rear seats were for on our Ioniq 6! However I'm not so sure it's for keeping the seat belts from rattling. Instead it's for stowing them when the seats are folded down because if you don't they get trapped behind the seats when you put them back up. I've had to fish them out multiple times now when i put my road bike in the trunk, which BTW does fit of you remove the front wheel and put the rear in first.

She's a beauty. I have the SE AWD in Curated Silver and love it. I was happy with the deal I got at the time as my state had just added an EV tax credit as well, and with the benefit of hindsight it would have been better to wait, but I had always planned on keeping it for a long time and have no regrets.
I have been lucky with regards to the ICCU and 12 volt battery issues and my EVSE can only output 5.76 kWh and is in a garage which is likely why I never had the overheating issue when charging. After hearing about the 12 v battery issue on Facebook, I removed all apps from the EV and only used the square button on the outside of the car door to both unlock and lock it since there were theories that apps were the cause of the battery drain.
Long story short, I personally love the car, but it's definitely not for everyone and do thorough research on any car purchase, but especially if it will be your first EV as everyone goes through growing pains especially when it comes to charging it at a fast charger that you just have to experience for yourself and hope the next time will be better and be thrilled if you can do most of your charging over night while sleeping.

If I were to replace the 18" wheels, I would go with 18x8 Fast Wheels (Fasco of Canada) EV01(+). These wheels are flow-formed and weigh much less than oem. They are not any more aerodynamic than the oem wheels, so highway range is likely to be about the same. Range and acceleration response in urban driving should be slightly better because of the low weight. Style is subjective. I would not, however, buy aftermarket wheels for a leased car unless I intended to buy out the lease.

Great color! Will be good if you can make a real world range test until lets say 5%, don't think is wise to go down to 0%, since on the long play is bad for the battery. Also, I think you told me that all trims on I6 are capable of v2L. One question; you need to have the car parked in order to use it? Or you can plug lets say a personal little fridge and have couple of soda cans or water bottles cold when driving?

Are you referring to the V2L outlet in the back seat? Not all trims have that. All trims can use the adapter you plug into the charge port

Red color is the best color :) In Europe (NL) we do get folding mirrors, auto up windows all around and wireless charging in the base model. Shame that it doesn't in the US. One extra diff between the top trim is the window pillars on the outside are gloss black vs matt black. I do hate that the lower trim doesn't have heated seats, do you have any solution for that?

A couple of things to add with my far greater experience (I have 490 miles on mine): First, there are two hatch closing buttons. One just closes. The other closes and locks all doors. I like that. Second, I don't like that the seat belt latch is kind of deep and sometimes hard to get at. We're taking ours on our first road trip soon--about 2400 miles round tip. Yay!
