    I love the machine! I think I would use a hand embroidery ring in order to give my fingers a rest and have a way to control the material. Thanks for the video!

    Hi Lauren, You should add a backing material to the back side of the garment. This way you might be able to stop the bunching up of the jean jacket. My mother ran the Singer for over 40 years in our business. I retired her with new computer embroidery machines. Funny how I have a few people that want me to resurrect the old Gal in the basement. My mom is 92 she says I'm on my own.

    “...really high, thread, stitch... hmmm, words...” 💯 relate.
    Thanx for the video. I just got the same machine, but not pink. This was a nice tutorial. Cheers!

    That is so cool it's like the "couching foot" with a sewing machine that uses yarn and specialty threads then you can do all sorts of things. It seems quite difficult having to use only one hand and be bent with your other hand under the machine. I'd love to see it done, and I'm sure your friend will absolutely love and cherish it!!! TYFS

    thank you for posting your videos on your process! Learned so much from watching. Just got a machine myself and its so much fun and also such a learning curve. Fill is also not my favorite--- Also I'm not sure if its kosher to do but for me to rethread I just cut the old thread by the spool and then tie the new one on and pull it through? So much faster. Love your videos thanks!

    Lauren you could try a tearaway stabilizer to help with the stretching.

    • @LaurenMormino
      @LaurenMormino  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mention that 3 minutes in. It makes it a little too thick to stitch through. I may try a spray starch in the future or try a thinner tear away!

    Looks like this could be really hard to do with only one hand guiding the needle and the other hand doing something different. I don’t have that much coordination. Quilting is complicated enough for me. Pretty texture though on the jacket.

    Try some embroidery stabilizer behind it. Tear away would be perfect! It's very satisfying to watch. I'm sad I don't have room for another machine. Time to move. 🤣

    • @kirabranscum

      @@LaurenMormino ah ok. There's some that tears easier than others for sure. I figured you thought of that but mentioned just in case. I'm still watching. Very tedious. I want one just for display purposes. 🤣

    Can you use your knee to work the handle underneath and then you can use two hands to guide the fabric?

    • @SuperHeroSewing
      @SuperHeroSewing 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a great question - yet she does a great job maneuvering - plus the circular motion when I thought she might've filled in linear...hmm.

    • @LaurenMormino
      @LaurenMormino  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No because you have to pull on it. The circle foot helps move the fabric. You honestly don’t have to guide it too much but helps

      @landas2268 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@LaurenMormino hey love I got a chain stitch. And just learned how to maneuver it. But my needle wont pick up the thread most times. Where did you get it painted.
