potato camp? whats the story behind that name? I came across a sign made from a scrap piece of cardboard, tacked up on a tree branch some 2 to 4 years ago it said "potato, boil em mash em stick it in my stew" you didnt leave that sign by chance? i have a picture on facebook somewhere...
I love nature. It brings me peace to my soul. That's how I recharge my battery. I work a high stress job. My boss is a bully. She's a micromanager. I dread going to work every day. It's like walking on eggshells.
Hey, Nick!! So glad you found us and thank you again for the amazing spot! We tried looking up your Jeep group but couldn't find much. Hopefully we'll see you out there again soon!
My fiancé and I just found your channel. We love it! We live in Myrtle Beach, SC and camp on East Coast. Looking at teardrops as we tent camp and would love to camp easier and travel more. We plan to camp in the PNW in our future! Thank you for sharing! Gorgeous campsite!!
Nice campsite and great view, but we would have not done well with the bees. Visited Rainier in May 2018 on a 52 day journey around the country pulling from Maine -- still lots of snow on the ground but we had fun and the wife snowshoed for the 3rd time on the trip. Travel safe.
Old school boy scouts 101 bees in camp remedy: Hang a string from a branch in camp. Tie a small stick or toothpick at bottom and wad on a meatball sized wad of raw hamburger. Place a bowl of water directly below the suspended raw meatball. Bees will land on the meat and eat and as they chew pieces off they drop into the water and drown. I'm old school boy scouts though. Bees are basically endangered now so...
I know this video is a year old but next time you go up there Green Water W.A check out fire road 74 changes to fire road 75 up to lonesome lake near the lake there's a off trail puts you in a wide open spot puts you 5 miles away from the base of mount rainier
Considering the time of year, those were probably yellow jackets, which are in the wasp family. They are carnivorous, so watch your protein when you’re cooking or eating.
Hi Justin! We do on occasion. It really depends on weather and mostly happens in the winter. To combat this we leave one or two windows cracked and run the fan on 10% if it's not too cold. The small heater we have also helps in the morning. If we do have a damp weekend we make sure to air out under our mattress as well. As long as you're paying attention to your trailer and surroundings it's not really an issue 😉
Not at all. Even when we rented one upwards of 2,000 lbs, no issues. However, with the 2 door, highly recommend staying closer to 1,000-1500 lbs. Pulls much better 👌🏻
@@WheresWiseman actually still here in Japan and getting ready to return to the mainland. thinking of getting a camper trailer like yourselves. Looks like fun.
Laughing I've so Done that Last time was when we got stuck in snow. I Had to wrap my feet in towels i had in my Jeep, we Stayed the night after 18 hours we got unstuck Now I keep two pairs in my Jeeps Just for that reason
@@WheresWiseman We were taking the Back way home so we could go to the hot springs after we left my mom's near Mt. Shasta. After we got unstuck and looked at the gas gage, we decided to turn around we were a few miles away still and allot can happen in a few miles. We had lots of trips since then. We've been working on Our Alaska Expedition for this coming spring. Still hoping the Mandates are dropped so that we can drive thru Canada. in the meantime, living next to 4 national forests, we have lots of Adventure's in Our back yard. Then I'll be making Videos for my Channel too.
A lot of maps/satellite imagery research and boots on the ground 👍🏻 Google maps/Earth and Gaia GPS are our go-to's. Usually don't need a pass on a lot of these public forest roads, but do get the annual pass when we renew tabs 😉
Spectacular view.. Would you mind to share the exact location of the camp site?
That site is unbelievable, I’ll take the bees, what a view from your window. Thanks guys!
Thanks, buddy! Gotta go back this fall when the fires subside 👌🏻 Congrats again on your recent milestone!!
There's something about yall that makes me feel so comfortable and at peace
😊 We're so glad you're enjoying our channel!
We call that spot Potato Camp. It's just around the corner from Lonesome Lake and what a spectacular spot it is!

I can look at Mt Rainier all day long! She is quite beautiful and stunning!!

You guys must really like Timber Leaf. For good reason. We’re headed to Grand Junction in 2 weeks to see them in person. Love your channel.🤙
We do!!! Love the trailers, love the company, so much we bought 2! We did the same thing, visited first and immediately put in our order 😉
Another great video. Thanks for sharing. You guys crack me up! Implosion medication? 🤣🤣🤣
Haha! Thanks, Brenda!
Stunning views! You two are fun together. Implosion medicine...🤣🤣🤣🤣! You're killing me here! Lol
Thank you, we appreciate the support!
We are in Tacoma and getting our TAG next week and looking forward to new adventures. We have been tent campers for many years.
Nice, congrats! It's definitely going to be a game changer for your adventures! 😉

Thanks, Ali! That's pretty much how we got into our teardrop. So much better than a tent! Good luck in your search and thanks for watching!
Would you mind sharing which forest road you went on for this spot? Would love to take some friends here- we all follow Leave No Trace principles!

52 days!? So jealous! Thanks for sharing!
What an awesome spot.. though the bees would drive me away.

Awesome, Shane! Thanks for the heads up, definitely going to check that out 🤘🏻
haha... really love the bees around "subscribe". Nice job! curious if my 25 feet class c would be able to drive through the tight road..
Thanks!! Unfortunately no. It is very tight and a bit rough

Indeed they were! Aggressively tried to steal our gyro meat!!
Nice video guys, and what an amazing site
Thanks, Jeff! Need to meet you all up there soon!
Bee’s r actually very good for us, not so fun if u get stung but very necessary for pollination and honey!!!
Yes indeed 👍🏻 unfortunately these were the carnivorous kind 😬
Awesome view so happy for I two!!
About the bees, I remember watching a bee fly onto a hamburger patty and he took a big chunk and flew away….it was raw meat!! Freaked me out!
Ha! Yep! Not bees, yellow jackets. Very aggressive and attracted to meats n sweets 😬
Just wondering, do you guys have a problem with condensation buildup in the morning?

You won't regret it. Safe travels!
Bees are attracted to protein! I'd love to get the lat. long. of that place. Nice video!
Thanks, Matt! Guess we'll stick with spaghetti next time lol. Message us on Instagram for more info 😉
wow it is unreal there good video
Thank you!!
Love it. How to get to this campsite? Do we need to make any reservations?
Thank you! No reservations, it is very much off grid. Depending on time of year may need 4 wheel drive

🤣 a necessity!
Maaaan great views but I dont think my 2014 Forester Suby will be able to get there lol!
It actually wasn't too bad until the very end!
New to your channel. What teardrop trailer is that?
Hi Sam, it's the Pika model from Timberleaf Trailers

Full of nice
What road was this ?

What a nice spot. I was just making fun of my wife the other day for her deep Birkenstock tan lines, ha!
Ha! Could've been worse, could've been wearing socks with those sandals 🤣
