One thing that always sticks out to me in plow day videos is how people show up with their monster tractors with an on-land hitch plow that’s way too big for the tractor and go out barely scratching the ground and make an absolute mess of the plot and screw the day up for the other participants and the field for the land owner. When we plowed at home, here in central Virginia, we always plowed at 8-10”. Maybe it’s different in other parts of the country. The Detroit re-powered 5020, however, was doing a fairly respectable job of plowing.
Thanks for sharing all of your finds with us. My favorite green tractor is a 6030 John Deere. Favorite orange one is a D-21 Allis Chalmers. Favorite red one is a 1466 international harvester. Favorite blue one is a 9600 Ford.
I don’t see a lot of Case 1030 Comfort King on you tube. Ok he neighbor my dad worked part time for bought one brand new around 1967 or 68. Had some overheating issues that turned out to be a cylinder head that was a porous casting, but the nice that was solved, it was a work horse. I was 4 or 5 years old and spent many hours riding with dad when fall plowing. Had some pretty steep hills and remember the front wheels being about a foot off the ground all the way to the top. The farmer’s nephew had a new 4020 Deere and couldn’t keep up with that Case. I really miss those days!😌

My favorite was the ford Tw 30. We farmed with ford's and massey fergusons here in Eastern North Carolina. We had a ford 4600, 5610, 7000 and a massey ferguson 135 and 399.
International Dealer had a 1456 International delivered to demo with 7 bottom plow ...got to the end of the field raised the plow front of tractor went up and came down broke the front are completely off..they didn't realize it needed weights...Dad bought a 4630JD instead back in 73 or 74 it cost around 25 thousand..but we leased the 1456 it had more torque but JD cab had the future in comfort

I remember having to scour the farm to find all the front end weights we had to keep the front tires on the ground when doing heavy tillage with that tractor...ha
We had a JD 40, which was traded for a Ford 3000. Later we got a JD 2840, and a MF 1155. The neighbors had Ford 5000 and 6600, IH 856, 806, 1066, and 1466. Others had 4020, 4630, and 5020 Deeres. Great tractors.
Our big tractor was the JD 2840 for a long time because we were only a 100 acre operation. It was no fun disking with the Ford 3000 on clay soil because the plow was connected to the 3 pt hitch and it would jerk the tractor around.
I like them all. My favorite is the JD 5020 with the Detroit in it. You definitely need to invest in high quality ear protection. Excellent video as always Jason 👌🏻.

Diamond turf tires were available from the factory from Case, Allis-Chalmers, Massey Ferguson and Ford on 160 to 180 hp tractors. They have a tough look.
Yeah, there’s probably no muffler on that behemoth because the original muffler the tractor was equipped with from the factory is probably way too small to accommodate the exhaust gas flow of an 8V-71.

@@bigtractorpower 1150's are getting rare. My dad owned one when I was really young, I mostly remember the day we loaded it on the truck and got our first 1155. That was a great tractor for us
Well I have had the pleasure of driving most all these jdeer's but ha the really real comfortable an great tracker I don't see the old 8400. My opinion the best I ever crawled on. Far comfort an power.
I like the White 2-180 followed closely by the JD 4230. Also the JD 6030 rates up there however knowing they only came in synchrorange drops it down a bit.
@@henrycarlson7514 My father was a sales rep for a JD dealer 60s, 70s, 80s. He sold some 6030s and I remember he said they were only synchro range because JD didn’t think their powershift at the time would hold up to the 6030 hp. I can’t find any listing on line for anything but synchro range. That being said, possibly at the last of the production run some had it.
@@morganottlii2390 yeah, they probably have to literally scream at whoever they're conversing with due to the engine being so loud because the muffler the tractor originally came with had to be removed during the re-powering process because it was too small to accomodate the increased volume of exhaust gases coming out of that 8V-71

Nice to see a massey ferguson in there. Very underrated tractors in my opinion.
Massey does not get represented enough. I keep hoping to find a 2775 or 2805.

Very nice line up. I am a 7000 fan. Two neighbors had 7000’s when I was growing up.

Ford tw 30 thanks
My dad worked for Kinze manufacturing back in the 70’s a built several of the John Deere’s with the Detroit Diesel engines.
I’m a JD guy but the Ford with the wide front tires is sweet looking.

The 666 was my favorite classic find this year. When do you get to see one plowing with an IH 3 bottom plow? Not very often.

Being NC tobacco farmers we used JD 2640 and MF 285 with the wheels spread to 8’ for tobacco rows.

In the segment with the John Deere 4430 and John Deere 300 Husker the tractor was labeled a John Deere 4230 specs.
