Smart TV OS support period is an important factor. A Smart TV can last for 10 years or more, but smart tv software will last (with support) for at most 5 to 8 years only for LG brand. I bought a LG - 3D - 55" smart around 2013. However, it cannot watch TH-cam and Netflix after 2017 due LG Web OS 2.0 end of support in 2017. I need to add TV box for watching TH-cam and Netflix for such 2013 TV. You prepare to expect the LG Web OS 3.0 will only last for at most 5 to 8 years for current LG TV model. Once the support period expired, your invested 4K 65 LG TV becomes useless or need to add post market TV box because it cannot watch TH-cam and Netflix any more. Buying Samsung smart TV may also face similar future support problem too. You can still use obsolete window XP for watching TH-cam, but don't expect you can use LG Smart TV watching TH-cam after expiry of supporting period!
there's no point of buying a TV for all that stuff. I bought an LG C9 strictly for picture quality and price. The software and remote was a huge bonus. Even if I didn't have those, I'd just use an Apple TV 4K or a 4k fire stick (they cost $25).

Does the Android TV require to have a Google account to be able to have full experience? In that case it really sucks for the ones that don't want Google to google everything about you and selling your private information.
Nobody buys a tv for software. most people have a streaming box...BUT because of how good WebOS is, I ditched my Apple TV 4. I was about to buy the Apple TV 4K when I bought my LG C9, but wow, that remote and OS are amazing.
I have an LG TV with webos which is okay but not enough apps. However the android smart TV I got last year was slow and kept disconnecting from the WiFi. So I sent it back. I will not consider getting an android TV until they have got rid of the bugs
Samsung's Tizen OS is crap compared to Android TV & WebOs. Tizen is plagued with security & privacy issues, gets limited support, and rarely gets updated. A lot of customers have complained about Tizen. Android gets heaps of updates, WebOs UI looks pretty minus the ads.
Don't ever buy LG WEBOS trust me, won't link to Alexa or Google Assistant due to lack of region support. Second, Lack of supported apps, can't even install local tv provider like CW or anything. And third prone to LED Burning. I just bought one and It leaves some burn when playing videos in highest brightness for a long time. Fourth can't use voice recognition without magic remote which is sold separately
is there such a thing as a tv with out an OS but I can still plug my PC into that has coax and headphone plugins I have yet to find one, I dont want or need a tv with all of the extra " Stuff"
The BEST OS is the one that does not stand in your way!!! I have never owned a samsung, so I can't say anything about tizen (couple of my friends own one, still not impressed), but webos gets out of your way. It's fast and easy. We had a sony android tv the last couple of years and me and the misses never stopped complaining. Besides missing time shift and other features it was laggy and more in your way than helping you. The tv kept crashing and was all in all really slow. Before anyone complains; It was a 55" Bravia that was top of the line when we bought it. Yes, good tv, os annoying as f****. We ended up buying another lg. We miss the second "regular" remote that they used to include but in no means do we miss entering text with a cross navigation, instead having the magic pointer. Aside from the remote, no complains about the os yet. Intuitive, fast, does what its supposed to. The LG feels like a tv with easy access to everything else you might need. The Sony felt like an android tv that was kinda sorry when shit was not working...
Why do that when you can just have it Built into your TV! I think it's cool to have android built in it's cool!! I am a big huge fan of android install 1000 of android games put movies tv shows and millions of music on it from a hard disk!

Can you mention how well the three integrate with Google Cast? For example, I have a webos tv and I can wake up the tv by casting to youtube. Additionally, webos can stream via DLNA and the remote app can turn the tv on from my smartphone. Is Tizen just as versatile? Can vanilla Android TV handle dlna sufficiently?
Good insight but what bother me Android base tv need to exit movie apps like youtube to change video picture color or sound setting. Is there any Android TV could make picture change realtime like normal TV ?
I have the tizen system on my expensive at the time Samsung, they stopped support for it after only 3 years. Was a bit bummed out by this so gone for a LGwebOS TV this time. Will see how long LG give support on this one.
Hi, I have both but I notice a significant difference in sound, when I watch a movie or TV via a tizen application the sound is clear and powerful with a volume of 9 or 10 and what I don't understand it's when I watch the same movie or tv via google chromecast tv with the same application the sound becomes less good and weak, forced to increase the volume. Is it normal that tizen is better because the hp are the same and is there a solution to resolve this difference between the two systems? Thank you for your help
So which brands use Android TV, and what about Google TV (looking at TLC too)? If I want to install tv apps from Google Play Store that are made in my particular country, can I do so on all these TVs, including LG and Samsung, or not?

Can you let me know your thoughts on recent news that google tv will replace android tv ? Does this then mean if we buy a tv based on its OS then once android is obsolete we will need to deal with google os on the tv we bought (originally android) or is this a mute point
Wait you can not activate VPN on TIzen or Web OS? Which companies support Android TV? You can plug in chromecast or amazon fire stick in your tv and do search via VPN also???
Just got a new hisense 4k ultra 55inch android tv. What should i start on? Im use to the firestick amazon platform and am familiar with all the sideloading etc but is android tv the same basically? Any idea how to increase the little storage it has? Would just a usb drive work or will i need to get a otg cable and download a file mgr app?
Hmm. Many complains about android being laggy. I currently bought 900h and nano90. I like LG magic remote alot, but stil i prefer Android TV. And it's faster than LG webOS to me. No lag at all on 900h so far. Bought Q70R early this year, it doesnt want to load youTube content. And this happens consistently. Well, i dont use Samsung anymore as the panel breaks when I just tried to put in new optical cable. I hang it on the wall but still. Bye bye Samsung And if Sony can just put the pointer in the remote!....
@Deanna Oddly enough, I got both the LG and the Samsung. LG for the price as I got a great deal on it, and the Samsung cuz it works with my other Samsung stuff and works similarly to Android. I would have bought an Android TV as it would interface nicely with my mobile and google home, but there weren't any quality branded Androids. I trust Samsung and LG. I have a much harder time trusting hardware with odd randomly spelled foreign names. I will throw out there that Vizio would be a great android option. Walmart backs its brand nicely thru extended warranties. I handed down my Vizio to my Mom when I upgraded... 20 years ago... it's still crankin along flawlessly!
Dont buy android TV's, they will hang or lags after some months and compare to web OS and Tizen OS android OS booting time is more, your TV will take 30+ seconds to start. while in booting web OS is killer, web OS takes max 5 sec to start TV even after 2 years the time for start TV is same. Android OS will hang your after few month and don't side load more apps in android TV. So for great TV experience go with LG web OS or Samsung Tizen OS still you want android experience in web OS you can attach android stream box (mi, Nokia etc) which is worth 2000(INR) only (30 USD approx).
Hi Smart DNS Proxy, what's in your opinion the most responsive and fastest OS for TVs? I find it amazing how my LG C1 is lagging in the menus. It's 2021 and my 3k EUR tv is lagging... :( I returned it a week after buying.
2.49 That’s not quite the case in my area as I have a mi stick so I can’t side load Aptoide TV but we can’t download apps that usual TVs here have like BBC iPlayer
I would never use the app store or google playstore on my tv. Everytime you download stuf you flood the onboard system with all data and it will become overheated, even lower the lifespan of your tv hardware. There is so much crap left behind, and make its unstable. See as as your phone. I even want to uninstall apps that i dont need, to let things run smooth, its better to buy a apple tv, or good android tv box. It also has some other benefits, not all onboard Os suport hdr or other features, great tv boxes do. I realy like webOS btw, it has a minimalistic overlay
Why not? You don't even get Chrome with Android TV, at least not on the Shield TV Pro 2019. Sites like PureAPK are just mirrors for the play store. Some apps will need keyboard and a mouse. These seem like settings that app makers could easily optimize but they simply don't. With a keyboard and mouse I get Real VNC (free) and MS Remote Desktop Manager so with a keyboard and mouse I have access to my PC. I've also found that apps like OpenVPN Connect work better then the ones in the actual TV store. It wouldn't connect to Kodi over my VPN to my house but OpenVPN Connect could with no issues. The only issue with the Shield is no TH-cam HDR. While Nvidia should of added support for the VP9 Profile 2 codec I still blame Google for forcing their codec on users when HVEC is pretty much the standard for all streaming HDR apps.
Can the android tv be casted through a splitter to dual TVs on back to back walls? Also with my Samsung phone to Samsung tv I can play and hear what's on tv onto the phone's screen, can this be done on the android tv box?
Does anyone know whether LG is going to support new WebOS versions on their latest TVs like the CX or BX?? Thinking about getting one but I've heard about how bad LG are with their software support in the past. Don't know if that's changed with these new TVs?
Dont expect updates. Lg are assholes They move from.model to model, they dont care about customer suport, check tbeir suportforum, noone answers except customers
I've spent hours on rtings of late, and you can see rating for how fast and smooth the ui for apps go. It'd be great to review how, in hypothetical example only, a LG C8 went from very fast and smooth upon release to just average over two years and draw your own conclusions, but that takes some effort, pouring through user reviews from release to present. Use smart TV os/apps or don't, you're paying for the inclusion. But the next best thing may be an external smart content device that's not too expensive to be upgradable from time to time to assure you're getting everything you want in app, and they're running optimally.
Thanks, wish I watched this before buying a couple a smart LG TVs ( I had planned on sideloading a few streaming apps) guess I'm stuck with TH-cam, Netflix, and Amazon)

Thank you, i'm just dissapointed that nobody seems to show the TV channels guide interface?
For those of us who have the tv playing in the background all day, it's very important to see how the interface looks and whether shows can be programmable to come on from different channels.
I have a question pls can does the androids Tv works with IPhone as well or it has to be an android phone
Thanks for showing us the features. You have said the magic words "You cannot sideload any apps on WebOS or TizenOS". What about playing PlayStation or XBOX game son the LG and Samsung TV's.
Came here to decide whether to buy an android TV or lg with webOS. But you have got a new fan
my last android was 2018 sony 930c. awful experience really. responded slow. constantly had issues with google apps. had to constantly log in and out for apps to work correctly. got so sick up dumping cache....love my new b9 web os. but i have simply needs these days. netflix, vudu, amazon prime, etc...
@@jergernice1 android OS sucks. Looks good at first but gets cluttered in the long run. Web os just works like iOS but in TV
@@Patrick10271995 Works fine on my 2019 Philips TV.
Thank you for the excellent comparison of the different OS for LED TVs
Does the Android TV require to have a Google account to be able to have full experience? In that case it really sucks for the ones that don't want Google to google everything about you and selling your private information.
Yes, because Android uses the Google play store to download apps and games, and you have to login.

Great video, thanks
If if I have a fire stick? I can still use, correct?
yes
Nobody buys a tv for software. most people have a streaming box...BUT because of how good WebOS is, I ditched my Apple TV 4. I was about to buy the Apple TV 4K when I bought my LG C9, but wow, that remote and OS are amazing.
Hey i have a question, can you play videos directly from websites(free movies websites)
I have an LG TV with webos which is okay but not enough apps. However the android smart TV I got last year was slow and kept disconnecting from the WiFi. So I sent it back. I will not consider getting an android TV until they have got rid of the bugs
Android has the most mainstream apps. My LG has a lot of apps that I would like such as HBO Max and DC universe.
You provided the exact information I wanted! great video!
LG LED is very poor quality shit.
Exactly
And lack of software updates in LG tv.
Brah LG WebOS Dont lag at all unlikr Google TV
is there such a thing as a tv with out an OS but I can still plug my PC into that has coax and headphone plugins I have yet to find one, I dont want or need a tv with all of the extra " Stuff"
To have android TV in any smartv you can simply get a smart box cheaply, so it's kind of irrelevant to have it built-in.
How to do it?
Why do that when you can just have it Built into your TV! I think it's cool to have android built in it's cool!! I am a big huge fan of android install 1000 of android games put movies tv shows and millions of music on it from a
hard disk!
Because Android tv built in sucks @@ShauntelGill-ti9no
@@ShauntelGill-ti9no cause it will start lagging couple of years and at that time you can't take out that inbuilt Android from TV so will you throw your TV?😂
Por fin un analisis de los sistemas operativos. Excelente video
I like samsung in everything Because they have a high quality always, but the best web system is probably web OS because it's so elegant and interesting to me.
You can do everything with Android tv
Exactly the same on Tizen. Getting a android TV next.
I bought Android TV os box to replace LG webos and it way superior than Webos by alot .
Ability to install vlc media player is one hell of a reason to choose android over any othet
You truly deserve a like, an excellent-well explained video
Can you download apks on the samsung tizan TV like Cinema HD and IPTV services?
No
Playing my old psp games on my android TV. Via emulator priceless!!
How do you do this?
That's the only reason I prefer Android TV over other software

Can we use chrome cast device to cast mx player on samsung smart tv series 6
I have the tizen system on my expensive at the time Samsung, they stopped support for it after only 3 years. Was a bit bummed out by this so gone for a LGwebOS TV this time. Will see how long LG give support on this one.

Woow... Android TV sounds quite amazing!! Thanks for the enlightenment
Good but not clear to me how my Apple computer & iphone with affect my TV operating system use. Is it an issue?
Hi, I have both but I notice a significant difference in sound, when I watch a movie or TV via a tizen application the sound is clear and powerful with a volume of 9 or 10 and what I don't understand it's when I watch the same movie or tv via google chromecast tv with the same application the sound becomes less good and weak, forced to increase the volume. Is it normal that tizen is better because the hp are the same and is there a solution to resolve this difference between the two systems? Thank you for your help
Can’t you get a soundbar?
What about Hisense android TV 65inch & can my Huawei phone be adapted to my android TV
So which brands use Android TV, and what about Google TV (looking at TLC too)? If I want to install tv apps from Google Play Store that are made in my particular country, can I do so on all these TVs, including LG and Samsung, or not?
Man, u look Indian but with zero Indian accent😊.
Your review is world-class. You did your research like, diligently. From Nigeria, lots of love for you.
Can you let me know your thoughts on recent news that google tv will replace android tv ? Does this then mean if we buy a tv based on its OS then once android is obsolete we will need to deal with google os on the tv we bought (originally android) or is this a mute point
Great question ----- needs an answer
Wait you can not activate VPN on TIzen or Web OS? Which companies support Android TV? You can plug in chromecast or amazon fire stick in your tv and do search via VPN also???
why no applications for TIZEN Os
Whatsapp MX Player and Some Basic Application Nothing Usefully App in that . Any Other Way To Install
Loved the video. Thank you for the detailed info. very well done. subbed
The only benefit about android TVs, for me personally is being able to listen to Spotify in the background like on the phone when on the home screen
Bye bye Samsung
And if Sony can just put the pointer in the remote!....
Now I believe u feel lag in Android TV
The pmpo 1000 watt and 200 watt speaker are still accompany with us after a decade some how I am trying to
Excellent video my man... Thank you! This video was instrumental in helping guide my purchase decision. 🙌
What did you end up buying and how do you like it?
I can’t download nowtv app it’s not supported yet when wil it be available to Android Sony Bravia tv
I got to say... after watching this video n looking thru the comments ive decided to get my next tv LG bcus of WebOs.
Did u buy the tv? How is webos?
Hi Smart DNS Proxy, what's in your opinion the most responsive and fastest OS for TVs? I find it amazing how my LG C1 is lagging in the menus. It's 2021 and my 3k EUR tv is lagging... :( I returned it a week after buying.
Thank you for this video. How about making LG TV to work as android TV, so you can enjoy the h/w of LG and the s/w of android? any comments
Not yet.
I am low tech as heck
But your video...was so through it allowed me to decide exactly what was right for me...
Can you download .apk files on android OS TV because on Samsung TV you can't
Yes
So you can pirate content?
Sir we are using android mobiles.
So why we prefer android os.
I am going to use web os .
A different view to use different os
google assistant is available in webos just make sure you buy a model that comes with magic remote.
Android TV is a no-brainer.
Thank you 😊 so much 4 lovely & great video.
Good luck 2 u

Thinking about getting one but I've heard about how bad LG are with their software support in the past. Don't know if that's changed with these new TVs?
The problem of lg is their wifi connection. I have a 55inch nanocell lgtv for a year. There is a wide known issue with lg wifi connection.
Dont expect updates. Lg are assholes
They move from.model to model, they dont care about customer suport, check tbeir suportforum, noone answers except customers
Am not an apple fan am an Android fan but I think you should have included apple TV OS it's quite popular... Any way great video💯👍
It isn't an OS that comes with the TVs
How can I reach you for some mobile hotspot TV tech support? Thank you
Thanks, wish I watched this before buying a couple a smart LG TVs ( I had planned on sideloading a few streaming apps) guess I'm stuck with TH-cam, Netflix, and Amazon)

so does Android TV OS allow you to install apps from other sources... ie Cinema HD apk
I don't think it does. For me its not worth buying any smart tv because u cant install 3rd party apps. So i went for a basic TV, and bought a good android box.

All 3 sound like they will get the job done. I would then focus on the quality of the hardware, warranty, and how many years you expect to get out of a tv. My current LG 47” is still hanging on going on 10 years now.
Nice vid, sorry it took me nearly a year to find it. Android Tv seems to offer the most to the user. That will be my next purchase for sure.
