Can I ask if you have had an artistically trained background ?. . I have worked with spalted hardwoods many times, I always find it quite a gamble ordering spalted timbers online, Some are naturally spalted, others have been chemically spalted . I have found that achieving a good finish on spalted hardwoods can be difficult at times. Is that a drum sander you're using to flatten the wood? What brand are you using? What do you think about the use of the drum sander if that's what it is? They have mixed reviews.

That's right, drum sanders are useful for leveling wood and they are very useful in my work, I use a drum sander from the Krisbow brand
