- Welcome back to my youtube channel, in this week's video I made a ball that is split into two unique bowls, making this bowl is quite complicated because I have to make a ball with a pattern that I made first, making this ball takes a long time because it has to be precise with the pattern that I made, more or less 1 hour to make the shape of half the ball, I want to say thank you very much to one of my customers who told me how to remove hot glue, namely by applying 99% alcohol, and the results really helped me easily remove the hot glue marks, made of maple, kruing and rosewood, for the inserts I use maple veneer, for the finishing I use natural oil, hopefully entertained by watching my video and hopefully this video can be useful for many people

Gorgeous bowls! You’re a master of both traditional and modern forms. Such a pleasure to watch your process. As always, thanks for sharing brother 🙏
@@wn2044 Thank you very much for your attention to Mayuko🙏🙏🙏
I've watched a lot of his videos, and not only does he have a mathematical, engineering mind, I also see the mind of an artist. We as artists see the world through different eyes. What you may see as a simple piece of wood, we see the vast possibility within that piece of wood
You, my friend, are a genius! That is a work of art! I am always trying to turn something new but probably wouldn’t have come up with this! Nicely done!
Very nice.🙂🙂

Yet another awesome creation. Over forty years of joinery and the alcohol on hot glue is a new one on me, I can’t wait to try it. How long did you leave it soaking before you pealed off the hot glue ?. Can I also ask you what thickness of veneer you used ? Did you buy it in sheets or cut it yourself ? It would seem that the common thickness of veneer online is 0.6mm. That seems too thin to me, surely it would be barely visible. Any help you can be would be appreciated, all the very best, keep on creating. Yours Ricky
Thank you very much for your attention to my work, just 1 minute you apply alcohol to the hot glue then peel off the hot glue and if it is a bit difficult to peel off then apply the alcohol again, yes that's right I bought it in an online store in the form of sheets with a thickness of 0.6 mm and it is quite visible
@@mayukowoodturning7644 Many thanks, you certainly turn out some awesome creations. Do all of these designs come from inside ? It's very difficult to design something entirely original, most of my creations are influenced by turnings seen online with a few changes. I'm retired now so time is no longer an issue. Out of interest, how long have you been a woodturner ? Do you practice other joinery skills ? What do you do with all of your work. Have you an internet site to sell them ?. My shelves are now overloaded with creations I have produced over the years. I have looked at the Etsy shop but maybe there are better specialist selling sites that I haven't found yet. It always amazes me just how cheap some craftsman and woman are willing to sell there products for. It doesn't make demanding decent fair prices for creations any easier does it. I have always been something of a perfectionist. It has to be of high quality or it's not good enough. I think I will stop now before I write a book , Once again., All the very best, Yours .Ricky
Hi again, I have watched the video again and it has me hooked, I am just going to have to make one. The sizes you have used looks very balanced. Would you be good enough to provide me with rough sizes of the blanks you used. I think I will try to source some African Blackwood, it might make it a bit expensive in hardwood but I think the Blackwood would look really good. All the very best, Yours ,Ricky
The size of the blank for rosewood is 19x19x3cm and the size of the small bowl blank is 12x12x6cm and that's for 2 pieces.
@@mayukowoodturning7644 Many thanks for your reply, can I ask what thickness of veneer you used ? It looks like about 2mm plus?
@@RICKYDENNIS49 the thickness of the veneer I used is 0.6 mm
