- There's a lot we wish we would have known when buying our first suppressors. in this video, Rob gives his suggestion for the first 3 categories of suppressors you should consider purchasing: Hunting/Bolt Action rifle suppressor, AR15 suppressor and 22LR suppressor. Based on his testing and experience with many suppressors in each of these 3 categories, Rob suggests 9 suppressors that are currently his top pics for new suppressor owners, including brands such as SilencerCo, Huxwrx, Dead Air, B&T, Rex Silentium.

Got my first suppressor earlier this year. I knew what I wanted in a suppressor and went with Polonium k. No regrets whatsoever best firearms purchase I’ve ever made lol
Suppressors are definitely the coolest NFA item you can get. Glad you’re enjoying your suppressor so far far. Thank you for your positive feedback and support.
Polo K is awesome
Would love to see 300 blackout added. Especially because of the shorter barrels generally being used.
we just built one just for that =) testing will begin soon! thank you for the feed back.
IMHO, the Griffin gate lock is the absolute best for a universal AR suppressor. They have a flow through .223 and i assume they're coming out with the same for their .30 Cal. If i could do it over, i would go with their .30 cal.
Just got my flow 556k back after a 5 day approval. First can and I’m very happy.
nice!! thats a great can!
Great advice Rob thanks
This was very helpful thank you.
happy to help! thanks for your positive feed back and support
Thanks for your perspective, I find it helpful.
Thank you for your support
Based on what you seem to value in suppressors, you should really start featuring CAT. According to Pewscience, WB and ODB are the cutting edge right now in terms of low backpressure while still matching RC2 signature reduction.
Totally agree, we’ve reached out to them several times and have gotten no response. Please help us by sending them an email and request their suppressor be reviewed on our channel. We’re going to need a group to make this one move. It looks like.
@@Ertactical I'll send em one. Thanks for working hard on the videos!
@@jaredgorski7961 🔥🙌🏻❤️
@@Ertactical Don’t you own a large number of these yourself? Why do you need them to send you stuff when you can just buy one for testing?
@@TellyTubby-ht5xs you have to understand. This channel has cost us a lot of time and a whole lot of money. We have not made a penny doing this. Because we’re getting good momentum certain manufacturers want their Suppressors to be tested head head with other Suppressors. So we’re excepting Silencers but we have to pay the $200 tax on each one. we are currently negative thousands of dollars just on tax stamps to receive more Suppressors for testing.
Thanks for the details
thanks for the positive feed back =)
Would love to see a double duty for Categories 4 & 5. It was touched on only slightly but I would like to see it expanded. 1st Suppressor for someone that has both an A-15 in 5.56 and an AK in 7.62x39. Likewise for anyone that has both .22lr and 5.7x28 pistols.
🔥
Great info as usual Rob! Nice to see the Sparrow mentioned - it was my 1st suppressor and I waited almost a year for it. Earlier this year I was looking for a 9mm PCC supressor and picked up an Energetic Arms Sonus (this one was approved in 48 hrs!) It is relatively not mentioned much in reviews though. I got it on sale and I like that it's made fairly local to me in MA. I find it pretty quiet with 9mm subs, and it's amazing with 300 BLK subsonic!
Thank you for the positive feedback and support. We’re going to do a deep dive in the 9 mm Silencers soon.
To add to your 22 suppressors the Otter Creek Titanium 22 is a great can. It weighs 4 ozs (I think) sounds great easy to maintain and will handle 5.7
Killer! Thank you for sharing your notes. We will reach out to them and see if we can get our hands on one. As we’re about to start our 22 suppressor testing.
The ventum 556 is already out, theres one at my local gun shop
yup, they came out in Jan 2024 but have only come to the market in the last few weeks. we filmed this before that.
I have a SiCo Switchback and I wish I had 2 TBAC Takedown 22s instead. I have found the switchback to be much louder on pistols so i don't even put mine on it, i just leave the pistol stuff to the Thunderbeast.
Low back pressure seems like your biggest consideration for suppressors.
I prefer my affordable, quiet and low flash suppressors like the Polonium
Low back pressure is important to me, but quiet is also important. And sometimes you have to pay for the good stuff. The polonium is not a bad all around silencer. It’s not terribly quiet and it does have high back pressure.
No back pressure equals louder
@@BB-ss3mw in the instance of the Huxwrx QD and flow K I would agree with that statement if you look at the BNT reduced back pressure Suppressors as well as the Silencerco VELOS Suppressors I would say that they are quiet and have low back pressure
My first 3, 22 Sparrow, obsidian 9, ventum 762.
🔥🔥🔥 you did well!
No mention for THE gold standard, Omega 300?
I think for a bolt action hunting rifle I‘d want a suppressor that sleeves over the barrel so as to minimize the added length that can be very cumbersome
Nice!
Great info as always. Just curious, why not the deadair mask for 22s?
we hear great things on it and the PWS 22 can.. we have both on order for 22 testing.. we have not done a ton of 22 testing yet but will begin soon. Thanks for your positive support! =)
Currently waiting for approval on an AB suppressor A-10 warthog 5.56 can for my first can. Already been eying other cans to get next 😂 great video
I know that feeling hahah thank you for your support and positive feedback
My recommendations for 1st 3: 22lr can, 9mm can, and 7.62 can. 22 because it is by far the most fun and the most quiet to shoot suppressed. I would recommend the Rugged Oculus. 9mm because you can shoot hearing safe PCCs and pistols all day long. I recommend the new SilencerCo Spectre 9. Just got it two weeks ago, and it is amazing- crazy light, cant even tell it is there, and does double duty in being on my 9mm pistols/Pccs but also can go on my primary HD gun- 300BLK subs and supers. Lastly 7.62- get a flow through can, and then it can be used on 30 cal rifles as well as 556. I recommend the SiCo Velos 7.62. If you want to only go 556, then the Velos 556. But honestly, who are we kidding- I started out with 3, and now in the span of less than 2 months have NINE . . . 😊
Solid notes. Thank you for sharing. 9 mm suppressors are definitely a lot of fun. The way I see it though pistol silos are more for fun than they are for use. Everything else has a bit of practical use in my opinion. But I appreciate your view and thank you for sharing with everyone else.
One thing I didn't think much about at first, but now several years into owning a collection of 12-suppressors now, which I run dedicated on weapons is overall diameter if you wish to recess the suppressor, at first I didn't really care but now I am into recessing suppressors into the hand guards of my SBR's and PDW's and unfortunately some of my suppressors are too large to do that, if I could go back in time I might have selected different suppressors but at the time I did not think about it.
its def a sick set up with the can is under the haggard but man it gets hot!
I went with the silencerco hybrid 46 DTM and the Huxwrx flow 22ti for my firsts. Pretty happy with them so far . Probably going to look for a 9mm/ AR can next.. Good vid.
I want that HUX 22 can bad! looks sick
@@Ertactical so far its been amazing using it tomorrow with the psa rock 5.7. Its a recommend from me
@@ScottyBennitone nice!
I went with a hybrid 46m and velos LBP during the bogo last summer. At about 300 days waiting on the 46 and velos. At about 80 days on the free warlock 22 and they still havent shipped the free omega 300. Maybe someday eventually I'll be able to have pretty much all my bases covered.
Sounds like you’re off to a great start, thank you for your positive feedback and supporting the channel
I got the Silencerco Hybrid 46m and the Silencerco Switchback for my 22s. So far I’ve been very happy with them. 👍🏼
Good the hear! Thanks for watching 🍻
solid cans!
This was my exact route. Except I got the sparrow in ti.
My third can is an obsidian 9.
@@Tangus999 nice!! good call!
@@Tangus999I’m waiting for more testing and reviews from this channel before I make another purchase.
My first two have been a HUXWRX HXQD556 and CASH9k. Next can will either be a Rugged Mustang or a Polonium-30.
🔥🙌🏻🔥
How is the cash 9?
@@bigc7710I actually haven’t shot it yet 😅
Do you think the Osprey micro still has a place in the .22lr game?
Rc2, Velos 5.56 and R9 were my first 3. Waiting for approval on a chimera for 30 cal. I also want the velos k.
The Velos has been doing great in all our tests! Thanks for watching!
solid! we are loving the Velos line up.. we are testing currently
I’m getting ready to buy the Ventum 762, but I can’t decide what mount to go with. I’m trying to decide between the plan b, SilencerCo ASR, and the Griffin Gate Lok. Any thoughts?
We did a video on this topic. Mounting solutions. Personally I love the ASR. But feel free to check out the video for yourself.
What are suggestions for PCCs? specifically CZ Scorpion. Thx
I have a SiCO Omega 9K on mine with a 3 lug.
I'm waiting for my Ventum to get out of jail, what can you tell me about the volume from the shooters ear? Maybe a comparison vs the SilencerCo Omega 300, which is one I have experienced. Thanks!
They sound similar but you’ll love the reduced BP
I have a DD enticer L. I want a lighter weight 30 cal can and love the aesthetics of the scythe. Can you tell the scythe is noticeably louder than the Nomad L even with ear pro on? Can you comment on the tonal differences between the two?
The nomad L in titanium is only a little bit lighter than the Silencerco titanium 30 Cal suppressor. But yes, I can noticeably hear the difference between the two. It is substantial. The Silencerco Kan does not have any barrel like restrictions unlike the nomad L titanium.
10.5 300blk trying to decide between the Lahar 30L and the Dead Air Nomad L. Being super quiet is the one thing I am looking for with the price range.
Polonium 30
Enticer S would be even quieter
if you want quiet, the nomad L is the one.. we have found NOTHING as quiet as it!
@@Ertactical correct- the Polonium 30 is quieter than the Standard Nomad- the Enticer S and L are quieter than the Polonium 30 but the Nomad L is quieter than them all.
Between it and the Lahar 30L is going to come down to what mounting system you prefer- but the Nomad L is quieter
@@basrutten641 interesting, you have all these and have tested them head to head?
Did this dude really just say silencerco skinkth
Yeah, it’s really a weird word. And I seem to effed up most of the time. And the new suppressors that are on the way have a lot more weird names.
@@Ertactical”Sigh-th.” Silent C (like in scent), no N. Like what the grim reaper carries. Not exactly an obscure word 😂
@@ToastbackWhale thank you
@@ToastbackWhale I understand how a lot of people can fuck it up if they’ve only ever read it, or if they’ve heard it and read it but haven’t connected that it’s the same word
Can you even still get the QD556? The Ventum 556 has been out for quite a while now.
I think the QD is still available. And it is a good suppressor of their lineup. I hope they don’t discontinue it.
Just bought my first suppressor. B&T SRBS 5.56 full size 718.. pretty pumped..hope am lucky in this waiting time 🤞🏻. I might be having regrets, I didn’t buy the Titanium because I didn’t want to worry about rate of fire and over heating…is that not a problem with the B&T ti?
I got the titanium one because I like how light it is. It only weighs 7 ounces without the amount. I’ve put mine through a pretty high schedule of fire and had no issues. And I did talk with them before doing it. I think if you’re going to train all day in a 500 round training coursetitanium is not the way to go. I have an order with them compact version as I think that will be an all day training tool. We should have it in the next few weeks and will begin our review. You’re going to love that suppressor!
@@Ertactical thanks for the response. It’s all good. This is just the beginning of my new suppressor journey now that wait times are quick. I was going to go with the WB CAT then buy the surefire adapter. But financially I figured I’d get a lot more first just buying the suppressor with the adapter being the adapter alone is 450$. I have 5 rifles with the surefire warcomp pinned so it made sense for me. Also my go to war rifle is the LWRC SPR with a NATO A2 birdcage and B@t make that adapter as well.. thanks for all the knowledge man. Great channel! I’ll share to spread the word.
@@timgleason2910 thank you so much for sharing our contact. It really does help a ton. Yes I’m so glad that we can now have other than surefire Suppressors on our Sure fire mount. BNT really is an awesome company.
honest question - how often do you actually make the modular rimfire suppressors smaller? the difference between a standard and k can seem enough to separate, the difference in size of the modular rimfires seem ....less relevant.
Good question, I like having them in the full-size configuration because I like them to be as quiet as possible. However, if you’re only going to have one on pistols, you might find it full-size and on Rifles you might shorten it a little bit because with the 16 inch barrel you really don’t need the full suppressor. But to answer your question specifically I usually just leave them in the full-size configuration.
They are fun to play with.
what about the VENT 3? for the ar
The didn’t have it at the time of filming
How about a budget series for a first time.buyer. there are so many options and restrictions/requirements. I need a good relatively cheap 300 blk 7.5 inch barrel suppressor without spending 1000 total with stamp.
Check out the velos 762… great do all
Rex Silentium MG7 or a Diligent Defence Enticer S
@@thomaspike1475 we have a few DD Suppressors on the way for testing. Haven’t had any hands on Time yet other than Cannon.
Get a stock nomad instead of the L for your first. Easier to handle.
They are solid cans
completely unrelated but is ericthecarguy your dad? haha you look just like him, and how would you rate the b&t ti suppressor compared to the huxwrx suppressors?
I love the B&T Suppressors particularly their TI. They are incredibly light. They’re not the best at back pressure but they are definitely low back pressure Suppressors. I do see the resemblance lol but I’m way better looking. 😂
The mask is the best 22 can
I appreciate your notes. I’ve heard this from a few people. There’s a few other top contenders that we have yet to test. We have reached out to manufacturers and they are already on the way. More test come soon. Thank you for your positive feedback and support.
I can’t get enough thanks for all of it
