      The more the channel grows the more different manufacturers realize they’re missing out by not sending a Silencers for testing. So we have lots and we have many more coming.

    Like your content Rob! You've already saved me from making a few mistakes. Commenting in relation to the wait time question. My form 4 approval times have averaged between 36 and 48 hours so far and that's across a sample size of four cans purchased in the span of the last month and a half. Two were directly from my FFL (already sitting in his shop) and two were purchased online and had to be form 3'd to his shop. Form 3 approval times were 2-3 days. According to him, as long as you're not one of those unlucky individuals that always gets delayed on a NICS check, form 4 approvals are coming back in a week or less. I am 100% one of "those people" that didn't want to pay the government $200 and then wait 9 months to a year for them to say "yes you can have that." As soon as my FFL told me wait times had consistently dropped to a week or less it was game on for me to start lighting money on fire 😂😂😂

    Another informative and well done video, lean and mean without any fat. I too have tinnitus and loss of hearing from years of range time. On the subject of hearing protection, I have always preferred ear plugs as they seal out more of the noise vs muffs which can leak noise from the eye pro temples. My former agency rangemasters mandated muffs on the basis of potential bone conduction hearing damage, which I challenged them to show me the studies, which they could not. They were simply parroting info passed to them. My argument was if there was such a thing, the entire skull would be conductive. The studies I researched did not show any conclusive proof of bone conduction hearing loss. Do you have any insight on this issue?

      I have quite a lot of opinions on the information you put forth. I agree with you on many fronts. But as is many things, it’s not a short statement. I think it would be a great idea for us to make a video specifically on this topic. Thank you for the suggestion and look forward to a video on our recommendations for hearing protection. Thank you for your positive feedback support and your experiences. They are valuable to us and they help the algorithm.

    The second reason is a big reason I love bullpups. I can have a suppressed 16” barrel that still handles like an SBR.

    • @Ertactical
      @Ertactical 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Totally! The beauty of Bullpup Rifles is there overall shortness. And their balance point. The problem is very few of them are truly ambidextrous. And in the end, their manual of arms are usually a little bit weird. So you really have to commit to the understanding of the weapon. I have a few myself and I like them, but I don’t think they’ll ever replace my love for my AR 15. Thank you for sharing and your positive feedback.

      @@Ertactical I honestly think that the weight distribution is a way bigger boon than the length. You being a lefty, I get it the discomfort with them. But hot damn does my suppressed AUG feel slick. I actually don't own an AR in 5.56 right now because of it. It does everything I would need a 5.56 AR to do 😅

  • @ShadetreeArmorer

    The heat is the thing people expect the least because they're used to how gun barrels or pistol slides get hot, not understanding that a suppressor heats up four times faster.

    @SilencerSyndicate Hey Rob, any update on the sound testing equipment? I am really looking forward to the decibel comparison videos!

    • @Ertactical
      @Ertactical 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      We made an attempt to get decal readings on several Suppressors and the equipment did not meet the standard. We looked into renting the equipment and it cost around $7000 to hold onto it for one week for testing. To buy the equipment somewhere around $60,000. We did however find All of the decibel readings all compiled by the same people in the same location with a three day span. We’re going to be sharing all of that information very soon as it is probably the best decibel data. We have found so far. Likely you will find what I have found. The data is very similar and disappointing. Decibel readings is a single data point. It tells you the volume, but not the tone. There are many other ways to measure sound and we’re working on a video that will make that, very clear to understand.

    Always a great day when I see another great video with lots of good info. One thing I would have liked to see added to the backpressure section is how much dirtier your firearm gets with more backpressure. Shooting my Tavor with an HXQD vs a Nomad L really shows how much dirtier high backpressure cans are.

      I know the materials are not cheap, and the design costs are a factor, but the precision manufacturing shouldn't be huge with modern machining. I sure hope the prices come WAY down soon. I don't want a cheesey supressor, but it sure seems like they cost too much for what they are.

      Flow through is the cleanest for the user end but might be louder and a bit flashy at the muzzle end. PIP from PTR is good but metal foam gets dirty pretty fast and it's a bit long.
      Surge bypass might be the best overall, as it is as quiet as Hux for the user, but also as quiet as a baffled can on the muzzle end. It mitigates flash excellently(Inconel), doesn't dirty nearly as fast as PIP and isn't so long. For those that don't require Inconel, the Ti version cuts the weight in half, which is crazy light.

      We actually have been working hard to get our hands on some of those Suppressors. The interesting thing is we asked some of our viewers when they asked us. To reach out to the manufacturers of Suppressors that we don’t have and send them an email requesting that they get one of their Suppressors on our channel. Because of this CAT did reach out to us. The other ones still have not. So if there’s any Suppressors, we we have not tested. Please feel free to send them an email telling them to put their money with their mouth is lol we love testing and will continue to test any suppressors that come our way.I think we have a suppressor coming soon. It is the votes of our viewers that is making the channel successful and getting our hands on more Suppressors so feel free to submit your vote to those manufacturers so we can test more things. Thank you for your support in advance.

    • @Hondatech26
      @Hondatech26 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Agreed, but consider this. A tax stamp was $200 in 1934 when the NFA was passed, and today, in 2024, it's still the same $200, we're coming out on the better end of the deal. $200 in 1934 would be almost $4700 in today's money when adjusted for inflation/devaluation of the dollar 😬 I don't want to pay the government $200 for them to say "yes you can have that" but it is what it is 🤷‍♂

    In your opinion, do suppressors increase or decrease recoil?

    • @jasonmorris159
      @jasonmorris159 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Decrease

    • @Ertactical
      @Ertactical 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Interesting question. And a fair question. However the answer is kind of complicated. When adding a suppressor to a bolt action rifle, you will feel reduced recoil. When adding a suppressor to a gas operated weapon, it should reduce recoil, however, it increases back pressure which term increases bolt speed. This can make the gun feel like it has more recoil when you add suppressor. When you turn the gas system so that it decreases the bolt speed you’ll find the suppressor will do its job and reduce felt recoil once your rifle is tuned appropriately.
