Great documentation of a great hike! Thanks for having let the pictures speak for themselves and for avoiding unneccessary comments which are provided in so many other videos from other people!
@@marlonxxi1 you could probably plan your own trip using the Haute Route cicerone guidebook as a reference for cheaper, but I did not have time to plan and make all the bookings at the accommodation on my own so I hired Trailwise Travel to do it for me. They did a nice job
@@cescmail Col de Riedmatten was steep and the path was pretty crappy but there were some chains here and there to help you out if you need it. Regarding the ladder, that was not an option for me because Pas de Chèvres was closed when I did it due to rockfall from the previous winter
Great video! When did you do this hike? It's I'm surprised there was so much snow. Also, did you ever have a hard time finding the trail in the rocky high mountains? I'm thinking about doing this next year solo and that's my only concern
@@SolarSailor hi there. I started doing this hike in mid-July and was also surprised that there was still so much snow out there on the passes. There were parts where the trail was not the easiest to navigate with the fog, the snow, and the glacier melt between col de louvie until col de riedmatten, but I was able to figure it out by looking for cairns while consulting my gps to see that I was heading in the right general direction, even if a bit off track on the gps

Great video!
From your experience, is it hard to climb Col de Riedmatten? I’ve watch many videos, and most of them prefer the ladder. Thanks.
