    Great video! When did you do this hike? It's I'm surprised there was so much snow. Also, did you ever have a hard time finding the trail in the rocky high mountains? I'm thinking about doing this next year solo and that's my only concern

      @@SolarSailor hi there. I started doing this hike in mid-July and was also surprised that there was still so much snow out there on the passes. There were parts where the trail was not the easiest to navigate with the fog, the snow, and the glacier melt between col de louvie until col de riedmatten, but I was able to figure it out by looking for cairns while consulting my gps to see that I was heading in the right general direction, even if a bit off track on the gps

      Hey man. I’m actually from Edison Park but went to Loyola (also class of 06) and met a buddy there from Park Ridge who told me about this song. Think I must’ve downloaded it from Limewire or somethin like that back in the day and it’s been on my iPod nano ever since then. Recently thought it was time to resurrect it n make it publicly available again. I just reached out to that same buddy who introduced me to the song hoping he could shed some light on its origin, but he unfortunately told me he has no idea who made the song.

    I went last year and enjoy watching videos of other people’s trips - this is one of the very best I’ve seen - why? Because you haven’t added music or a commentary, just audio straight out of the camera - a much better feeling for what it’s like to visit this place - great stuff, well done.

    • @timlally6316
      @timlally6316 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks for saying so. Whereas I have added music to some of my videos in the past, I’ve come to prefer a more raw and less over-produced feel when showing the places I’ve been. And as far as commentary goes - who really cares what I have to say about the penguins and the icebergs? The beautiful surroundings speak for themselves

    Great video Tim! I'm looking into doing this hike in 2 weeks. I saw that parts of the hike follow some kind of (dirt) road. Did cars pass you by? I'm worried that the addition of roads makes this less of a "untouched" experience. Thoughts? Thanks again for the video!

    • @timlally6316
      @timlally6316 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Karl, how’s it goin? I think I saw like 2 cars on that road the whole time except near Cocoyo where you see them more often because the people were driving between the town and the fields where they were planting seeds for the upcoming spring. It is definitely less “untouched” since the introduction of the road 5-10 years ago. People now make their houses out of bricks from the city instead of stone and thatched roofs from local plants. The road has also facilitated the construction of cell towers in the area where no one had a phone five years ago. The road can be ugly at times but was less upsetting for me than for my guide who’d been hiking in the area for more than 30 years and would get really sad reminiscing about how many groups of tourists from all over the world that he’d taken through these mountains when they remained untouched. For a more detailed account I did of the hike, you can check out this link… americasfinestambassador.com/the-world-in-photos/circuito-illampu/
