I got SO PSYCHED when I saw a new MA video was up. These videos are so inspiring and well made. Im a park ranger/EMT and i do what most people consider to be adventurous stuff on a daily basis but even I get jaded. This channel helps me appreciate what I get to experience. It also opened a whole new world of oppurtunities up to me in fast packing. I would never even attempt a 20 mile trail cuz that would mean an overnight camp and who has time for that with a 9-5 and kids. Now i just get up on 3 hours sleep, run/powerhike a 20 in the Catskills and BOOM, dine. Thanks guys
Nice to see you in "my" backyard. Looking forward to the next installments! Before I saw your video I wasn't even aware that there is also a "Walkers Haute Route" in addition to the classical (ski) mountaineering one.
The Virtual Sherpa there’s a hut every couple miles with beds and food on the “haute” and towns all the way around on the “low” path. Too bad it was cloudy for him - the mountains in my pic are on top of the massif he is traveling around.
I think your channel is working . . . I was watching this video for the 2nd time and needed to pause it while I went and did a 6 mile trail run. Thanks for the inspiration.
So refreshing not to be bombarded with 'don't forget to hit like and subsribe' like I seem to encounter in every other video on youtube.. Great channel.
Awesome Danny, I knew a video would be coming soon but France and Switzerland!! WOW!!! That is a great “seasonal” job you have going for yourself. Nice!!
Impressible trip, especially given that you added all the video back/forth scenes that must add miles to the length. I hiked this route several times over the years, so appreciate the running of it.
I have watched nearly all of your videos and am amazed at how poorly you and your compatriots are at bringing/carrying extra emergency gear. I used to do what you guys do but not as extreme, but I always carried extra clothing, water or a filter, emergency bivy gear, ropes to rapel with instead of down climbing. Don't get me wrong, you guys are amazing and i love to watch your adventures. They bring me back to the good old days. Climb on!!!! but be safe so I can continue to watch the adventures. ja
Wrong hotel .. bonus fitness😂....this is so Sick! You and your crew are BEASTS. I wanna reach this level of fitness. Also wanna do some of the cool stuff u guys do.. like WURL, that was one of my favorite YT videos ever!
I was noticing the same thing. Big increase in subscribers. I remember when the number used to be just a few thousand. Selfishly, I liked it better when not as many people knew about this channel. :) But congrats to Danny and Co. for putting together awesome stuff!
Five days is awesome! Especially in those conditions! I did it in 8 with wild camping. Insanely great experience. I look forward to seeing your next vids on this track!
Best of luck! I ran this in 2.5 days in 2017... I think 5 days is a much smarter and more enjoyable plan! It’s a beautiful route, and the euro style of staying at hotels is 👌.
Having done that trip at a more leisurely pace, we found the guide book and painted route markers along with the 2 Swiss maps made route finding quite easy. It's a fabulous trip and worth taking your time. Cheers.
Man, i love your Hiking Vlogs. I can only do hiking locally here in my country. As a fellow outdoor enthusiast, your vlogs are my out of country experience. 😁
So so interesting to see you navigate France and Switzerland, having done much of it myself and you being the pro that you are... Very interesting and entertaining indeed. Keep up the great work and continue having kick-ass adventures sir 🙏🏻
Yeah the Tour du Mont Blanc (which we also started at Chamonix) was a lot of steep up and down every mountain instead of wrapping around the mountains at elevation. The evil but handsome and interesting twin of the Bonneville shoreline trail.
Bravo, I have done haute route twice, in summer and winter. Probably not as fast as you! I experienced heat and big storms during my summer hike but it was fun. Great huts in Switzerland. I really recommend you to come back in march or April. Fantastic scenery, great ski experience. Love your videos
I want to thank you guys for your superb content, videography, and editing. Nothing else on TH-cam compares. A possible suggestion, come to our small mountains in Montana. If you can avoid the crowds in Fall, there are a few traverses in Glacier Park.
Yes! I just started following you on Strava and noticed these jaunts way out in the Alps. Looking forward to the rest of the videos and hoping you got to experience some sun at some point.
I look forward to these videos so much! They have inspired me to start traveling around North Eastern USA finding the hardest scrambles and routes I can find. I haven't been in such good shape since high school. I dream about living my life just like you guys, until ski season of course. 🤘🤘🗻
Hi there! I recently discovered your videos, they're cool. So funny to see you in Paris, where I live, and on the path of the TMB, which I have done recently. Fenêtre d'Arpette is defenitely a good hike! Anyways, I think I'll do the haute route this year, thanks for sharing and inspiring. Ps: hope the drone doesn't bother anyone ;) Cheers from France
Out of curiosity, what is it that you like about doing these insane distances all at once? Is it the challenge? Lack of time? Me personally, I would be in too much discomfort to enjoy the hike and take in the scenery?! I'm curious to hear your take?! It's absolutely amazing how fit you are!
You guys should come to Southern California and attempt Cactus To Clouds. It’s an 11 mile one way hike up at 10,834 foot peak called Mount San Jacinto. Total elevation gain is 10,400 feet. Just 160 feet short of 2 verticle miles
By the looks of the weather I think I was on this part of the route at the same time as you (did you start out on Saturday 7-Sep-19?). Couldn't see a thing for most of the morning. Looking forward to the rest of the route.
I’m trying to tell what time of the year you did this. Snowfields are gone, but trees aren’t turning. Late summer? Total lack of tourists tells me mid September or so.
Though he needs to do the full trip from Interlaken to Brünigpass to make it worthwhile (then it's close to 4.000m of climb and about 36km distance). For me, just doing the part from Interlaken to Rothorn was more than enough in a single day (still close to 3.000m climb and about 25km distance)
From a native French speaker: in "Haute Route" the H and E silent, and the "au" is pronounced O as in Omega or in "Oh say can you see". Route is actually pronounced like "root" but with the French R which no French person ever will blame you for not getting right as it's a pain to pronounce even for French speakers. :P
Fantastic, was just high up in the Aosta Valley this summer, this is bringing back fond memories. So civilized that one can just grab a sandwich and a drink at a refuge, isn't it? Sorry I know you get peppered with a lot of gear questions, but... what in the heck are those shoes you're wearing, I cannot identify them at all?
I'm a grown man for crying out loud! Just pure coincidence so thought 'why not?' y'know!? Lol. The "Yeah" is genuine though, love this channel, kinda surprised it hasn't blown up (but also kinda glad in a selfish secret club kinda way!)
Great vid as usual except it was way to short for where you are. It'd be brilliant if one time you could do a 'gear you use vid, shoes, packs, etc' when you've got a rainy day inside maybe. Love your productions keep it up! Oh and I couldn't help but notice your hair seems to be getting longer... sort it out chief lol. All the best ;)
Did the timing of your trip, allow you to enjoy/watch in person the UTMB race? Great video as always....Your video’s always motivate me to Embrace The Suck and do my own local adventures. 👍🏽👣👣🏔🥵😉
1st: i have watched all the videos since finding the channel 5 weeks ago. 2nd: your pronunciation is wrong but fine and you should not change it. 3rd: I like all of your adventure buddies but miss Blake. 4th: Where the hell is the Alaska footage? Matt didn’t pull some “my chopper, my video rights” bs on you did he? 😉
My favorite outdoor channel. Good guys, amazing shooting and scenary, oh and Danny's dry sense of humor.
You’re an amazing athlete to say the least. Videos are top notch 👍👍

Simply amazing that you film this all yourself. Beautiful job!
Nice to see you in "my" backyard. Looking forward to the next installments!
Before I saw your video I wasn't even aware that there is also a "Walkers Haute Route" in addition to the classical (ski) mountaineering one.
Awesome video - crazy that you will sacrifice warm clothing weight but are okay bringing the drone weight haha - #anythingforthetube
The Virtual Sherpa there’s a hut every couple miles with beds and food on the “haute” and towns all the way around on the “low” path. Too bad it was cloudy for him - the mountains in my pic are on top of the massif he is traveling around.

So refreshing not to be bombarded with 'don't forget to hit like and subsribe' like I seem to encounter in every other video on youtube.. Great channel.
Danny, you kill me. No warm clothes but you have the drone!
I would love to hike in France! Nice work. Inspiring
Blahblah 2.0 you should totally go and hike in the Pyrenees
Awesome Danny, I knew a video would be coming soon but France and Switzerland!! WOW!!! That is a great “seasonal” job you have going for yourself. Nice!!
Impressible trip, especially given that you added all the video back/forth scenes that must add miles to the length. I hiked this route several times over the years, so appreciate the running of it.
So killer bro. One of the best channels I've found in a long time
I have nothing to say other than you’re an inspiration and a stud. Merci!

congrats 3 months ago u had 7k subs now u got 15k nice job man! maybe you will have a career in youtube
I was noticing the same thing. Big increase in subscribers. I remember when the number used to be just a few thousand. Selfishly, I liked it better when not as many people knew about this channel. :) But congrats to Danny and Co. for putting together awesome stuff!
Michael Kniephof I know what you mean, but I hope this channel blows up. Such high quality, inspiring content.
Maybe growing a European or certainly international audience by covering major spots such as this ain't no bad thing eh? 👌🏻
Thanks so much for taking the time to put this footage out there. Amazing adventure. Definitely inspirational
Really looking forward to the next videos for this route! I love the honesty of your channel
Your videos just keep getting better and better. Great work and amazing shots as always!
Five days is awesome! Especially in those conditions! I did it in 8 with wild camping. Insanely great experience. I look forward to seeing your next vids on this track!
So excited to see a new video post!!!
Best of luck! I ran this in 2.5 days in 2017... I think 5 days is a much smarter and more enjoyable plan! It’s a beautiful route, and the euro style of staying at hotels is 👌.
Man this is awesome to watch. We were in this same area Sept 2018 doing a hike around Mont Blanc. Fantastic video! Thanks for the great memories.
Amazing miles! Your channel should have more subscribers. Did this route 8 years ago. In many more days than 5, but what a joy to see.
Having done that trip at a more leisurely pace, we found the guide book and painted route markers along with the 2 Swiss maps made route finding quite easy. It's a fabulous trip and worth taking your time. Cheers.
Hey Danny!
La haute route = The high path or the high road.
Cheers and thanks for the great content!

So glad to see another vid!!!
very cool!!!! cant wait for the other ones. very beautiful country there

hell yeah Danny! this is why I subscribe to this channel. Looks like a blast!
Epic! Especially considering all of the miles, elevation, route finding and camera work you put into it. Looking forward to the next video!
Missed you guys. Glad you're back at out and sharing.
Bravo, I have done haute route twice, in summer and winter. Probably not as fast as you! I experienced heat and big storms during my summer hike but it was fun. Great huts in Switzerland. I really recommend you to come back in march or April. Fantastic scenery, great ski experience. Love your videos
Can't wait for the next installment of this trip...
If you had to pick the most beautiful place you've ran/hiked/climbed where would you pick?
I want to thank you guys for your superb content, videography, and editing. Nothing else on TH-cam compares. A possible suggestion, come to our small mountains in Montana. If you can avoid the crowds in Fall, there are a few traverses in Glacier Park.

Stunning!! What a pretty place. I could actually hear my IT band screaming as you hurried down that harsh descent!
Sorry to hear about Matt. Wishing him a speedy recovery.
Outstanding video. Best of luck with the rest of the trek!
Great job filming along the way!
Hi there! I recently discovered your videos, they're cool.

That's a hard walking trip for day one and best wishes on the trip.
Quality as always
absolutely prime content as always
Hope you'll be able to see Mount Blanc amazingly beautiful
I was recently in the Bernese Oberland, Switzerland. The alps are incredible great choice.
Out of curiosity, what is it that you like about doing these insane distances all at once? Is it the challenge? Lack of time? Me personally, I would be in too much discomfort to enjoy the hike and take in the scenery?! I'm curious to hear your take?! It's absolutely amazing how fit you are!
SurfingKook it’s really fun to run you feel like you are making a ton of progress and you get used to it overtime
Beautiful video. I'd love to know the logistics of the trip.
Bad ass buddy!! Amazing place & must be an amazing experience
Amazing adventure! You guys are awesome! Looking forward to more😍👍
Inspiration much appreciated, Danny.

Deserves many more views/likes ! Subscribed
Looks like you are having a lotta fun.
EPIC ADVENTURE... what camera did you use. great video.
Have you tried CalTopo to plan your outings? Pretty accurate mileage and elevation gain every time. I use it a lot for the Sierra in California.
They have used it but it depends on the Route and i am not sure how it is for europe.
👍💯❤️ have been waiting for the next "Type 1 Day"😉
By the looks of the weather I think I was on this part of the route at the same time as you (did you start out on Saturday 7-Sep-19?). Couldn't see a thing for most of the morning. Looking forward to the rest of the route.
Top notch video as always! Just curious, what is your workout routine like at home to prepare for these hikes/climbs you do?
Sits on his couch playing video games and eating Doritos all day
What camera did you use to film this trip?
Seek Out The Adventure The cameras he used are listed in the description. I have both. Awesome cameras.
When, as in, dates did you do this trip? If you don't mind my asking...
Now this is epic!!!!!
Great video. Which main camera are you using. Shots look really crispy.
Just if you are bored, you can also do a similar route by ski in winter
Sweet!!! Classic adventure
Hike the gr10 in the Pyrenees it’s so beautiful
I’m trying to tell what time of the year you did this. Snowfields are gone, but trees aren’t turning. Late summer? Total lack of tourists tells me mid September or so.
you should do the Hardergrat route from Interlaken to Brienz in Switzerland (Jungfrau Region)!
Though he needs to do the full trip from Interlaken to Brünigpass to make it worthwhile (then it's close to 4.000m of climb and about 36km distance). For me, just doing the part from Interlaken to Rothorn was more than enough in a single day (still close to 3.000m climb and about 25km distance)
good stuff, love the channel. motivates me.
Just you? Holy crap.. you need to be a DIRECTOR. Your camera instincts are top notch!!
So good!
Dude I would have totally joined you. Bored as hell here in Paris!:)
You should try climbing the spearhead in Rocky Mountain national park it’s a 1000 foot rock spire behind Longs Peak

Always wondered how to pronounce it myself. You nailed the description. Thanks.

Sorry I know you get peppered with a lot of gear questions, but... what in the heck are those shoes you're wearing, I cannot identify them at all?
A Number One!
You guys are badasses.
I know it probably not worth a lot of camera use but I have always been curious of what you eat on the trail?
great vid- try 'out root' - for haute route
anyway- good to see you over here
Hi do you have a video on what camera /drone you use?
Yeah!
Also, FIRST!
@@duncanbell315 if danny had a trophy he would give it to you!!!~
I'm a grown man for crying out loud! Just pure coincidence so thought 'why not?' y'know!? Lol.
The "Yeah" is genuine though, love this channel, kinda surprised it hasn't blown up (but also kinda glad in a selfish secret club kinda way!)
@@duncanbell315 lol i called first once and he said if he had a trophy he would give it to me lol. Thats why i responded hahaha
Not so mediocre hike! You can also go there in a half year or so, when there is plenty of fresh pow ⛷
Great vid as usual except it was way to short for where you are. It'd be brilliant if one time you could do a 'gear you use vid, shoes, packs, etc' when you've got a rainy day inside maybe. “I had a baguette and a coke” 😂
real amateur here, but in most of your videos, what shoes are you guys using and what is a recommended all purpose trail/hiking shoe.
Wait are these the guys for 100 miles from nowhere?!?!
What is that on your shoes? A special sock covering the top portion of the shoe?
Gaiters. Keeps dirt, mud, off the shoes.
Sharon Slocum, thanks! I need those in my life
Love it
It’s pronounced something like “oat root”, actually. Little help for the upcoming videos.
... although I suppose the footage is already done, so too late.
awesome!
Heck yes mister
1st: i have watched all the videos since finding the channel 5 weeks ago.
2nd: your pronunciation is wrong but fine and you should not change it.
3rd: I like all of your adventure buddies but miss Blake.
4th: Where the hell is the Alaska footage? Matt didn’t pull some “my chopper, my video rights” bs on you did he? 😉
Yea i was wondering where the alska footage is too. Did he say something about not filming a lot on the trip?
New music :ooo
why no Blake?
