Thanks for the information. I was planning to this route (from Le Chabel to Zermatt) toward the end of August, but a bit worried to see that you were hit by the snow that time of year! Maybe I'll have to head to the Pyrenees or something instead haha
Haha, yeah, that was two years in a row that I ended up in snow in Switzerland. In 2022 it was around mid September. 2023 was end of August. Wherever you end up, hope you have favorable weather.
I rarely walk with water. I filter with a katadyn befree water filter, so I stop and drink at the water source. Sometimes water sources can be a little far apart and that’s when i’ll carry up to 1L.
