Just received my mrcc. It is absolutely fantastic! I have two user setups, one offlline (no daw) with one midi-in from squarp pyramid to 8 external hardware synths. The other one is with studio one as central hub: Keystep through pyramid into midi-in at mrcc, routed to pc-usb-out into my daw. This allows to play and record midi notes there. At the same time pc-usb-in at mrcc is routed to my 8 external hardware synths through 8 midi din outs. So i can send midi notes to my synths either by keystep, pyramid or my daw at the same time. The last open task is to find out how to synchronize/start/stop StudioOne with my pyramid through mrcc.
Ah Now I see where I was missing the functionality of setting up virtual wires before setting up source destinations. Thanks again for these very informative instructional videos. Cheers!
Greetings, Does/will the MRCC support the use of an external multiport USB Powered Hub as a "fan out" to any ONE of Host Ports A-D? The Devices plugged into the Powered Hub would be "auito learned" by the MRCC on USB PORT "A" and assigned to MRCC as virtual ports (A1....AN) which then could be displayed / mapped using the OLED. Use case: USB Power Hub attached to PORT A with the following USB ports populated: Powered HUB A ports: 1. AKAI Advance25 (A1) 2. Novation Circuit (A2) 3. Novation Launch Control XL (A3) 4. Touche Expressive E (A4) Powered HUB B 1. Novation Launch Pad (B1) 2. Arturia Keystep (B2) 3. FaderFox EC4 (B3) 4. Open (NC) Could any of the auto learned devices on PORT A then be "routed" to the 12 Midi Destination ports? Would it then be possible to route any of the USB Devices on PORT A to another device Port A/B as destinations? Can more than one Powered USB HUB be supported on the MRCC? Gratefully. Dan
Hi Dan, MRCC will support a hub on a host port. Currently, it can support 1 hub. The ports on the hub are not individually routed, but that may change. Steve is working on that part now.
I know this is an older post, but just in case CL monitors it. I'm currently using an older Yamaha MJC8 that I want to replace. It has 8 midi in's and 8 midi thru's. My current set up consists of some old midi only synths and some newer midi/usb synths/modules and such.I have quite a few of them combines, so would this allow my older midi synth to control the new ones and back and forth? Also, I have an Ableton Push 2, Akai Force and a Polyend Tracker that I want to throw into the mix so to speak. In total I have 14 units I will call them. Lastly, I've got an 11 channel powered USB hub, that is not one of the cheap ones that is currently in use, can I run USB "units" to that and into your hub? I know this is a lot, but I want to make sure This or maybe two of these will be the solution before I invest the money. Thanks
Sorry for the late reply. We've released a new MRCC tutorial series which might help to answer your questions. Here's the play list: th-cam.com/play/PLVL26OPxckm72I-DPvmQMzfNv7PsfqboI.html&feature=shares
Since the MRCC has 6 DIN inputs, you might need more than that, so we have the MRCC XpandR 4x1, which uses an MRCC USB host port to add 4 DIN inputs and 1 DIN output per USB port. The MRCC does not currently support a USB hub on the host ports.
Yes, that is what is happening at 3:35 in the video. You can select any input and route it to any output, physical or USB virtual. You just have to be careful when making MIDI loops, such as if you route PC input 1 to PC output 1, you could end up with a MIDI feedback loop.
Its something that's on the list to investigate, but the list is fairly long. This feature could potentially add latency and jitter to MIDI, so we have to tread carefully.
Forgot to set the Downmix to mono setting in OBS. We recently did our first livestream where we got to learn all about this... our videos will improve.
Thank you! We recently did a TH-cam live stream and finally got the audio stuff figured out. We needed to setup OBS to mix the output channels, as it wasn't doing it in the Zoom mixer when connected via USB.
Does the USB MIDI mode work for Virus TI, Korg M3 and Motif XF USB-MIDI in standalone mode? I’m currently using Midiman 8x8/s and it’s starting to bug out. I’m looking for tabletop midi rough tee to put behind my mixing board. This looks solid. Does USB midi require a PC to work? I’d like to work standalone.
The MRCC USB MIDI host ports work without a PC. Regarding your specific devices, I don't think any of them are USB MIDI class compliant, but they all have MIDI DIN ports so they don't need a USB host.

Thank you! MRCC will pass the Start/Stop messages to wherever MIDI is routed.
I am very excited about this amazing piece of gear. :)
Thank you Haze. Its taking us longer than planned to finish it, but its getting there!
my personal wish for a future revision would be rack mountability
It is rack mountable. About half of all MRCC users opted for rack ears, so a lot of folks are racking them.
Ah Now I see where I was missing the functionality of setting up virtual wires before setting up source destinations. Thanks again for these very informative instructional videos. Cheers!
It's our pleasure!

love this...when are you expecting this to be retail? congrats on the kickstarter
We should have inventory shortly after fulfilling Kickstarter and pre-orders, which we expect to complete in March.
MRCC's are in-stock on conductivelabs.com/shop
Can you map a virtual input of a MIDI IN/OUT (USB) to the output of another MIDI IN/OUT (USB)?

Any possibility of running audio over usb with any machines that have that functionality?

audio only on one channel? why?
Forgot to set the Downmix to mono setting in OBS. We recently did our first livestream where we got to learn all about this... our videos will improve.
looks great, FYI your audio is only coming of L

can the MRCC send MIDI Sound Select commands (System Common messages)?
Are you referring to MIDI Program Change? In any case, MRCC will pass all MIDI messages including SysEx.
@@ConductiveLabs no, i am referring to "MIDI Sound Select" commands (those are "System Common" messages)
@@kisho2679 Yes, it will pass Sound Select, but we don't have any filters for it. Do you have any examples of instruments that implement it?
e.g. e-mu orbit requires this for beat mode. Morningstar controllers or retrokits rk-002 shall send Sound Select. do you know others?
I am just trying how to get it to save my settings, can you help?
