    Hi, I recently bought one in Brazil and it's amazing... I would suggest having a line in a midi channel with a more active bassline with nuances designed to spice up this wonderful hardware, that would allow for more types of usage in other styles, like techno, house and funky... This update could be interesting! Thanks and see you later !!!

      Here's one way to do that... create your first base line sequence and save it. Then edit that sequence and save it. Maybe a 3rd if needed. Then use the mod matrix to modulate the Motif pattern!
      To set it up, select a mod source like ramp or sample and hold. Set the target to Motif (1 or 2) Pattern. Set the destination value to the first saved pattern. Set the Mod Amount to about 5% for 2 patterns, or 6% for 3 patterns. The Mod Range will show the pattern range that will modulate. Now when you start that Motif it will cycle between your base lines!

    I really love this thing. I just have some struggle programming chord sequences in it. But I am using a daw, to overcome that.

      I also prefer to use an external sequencer, because I can make sequence changes on the fly that way.

    I've been super excited about getting this. I backed this through Indiegogo - and I've only just heard they're sending them out to the Kickstarter people - still no word on when I'll get mine. It is a shame that I'll have to wait, I was hoping to show it on my TH-cam channel (which has quite a solid following).

      We’re super excited too! Sorry for the long wait, we’re shipping The NDLRs as fast as we can assemble them. To honor our supporters, we’re shipping them out in the order that the pledges were made. The Kickstarter campaign was first and then Indiegogo. We wish The NDLRs could all be shipped too so we can get started on the second production run and started on the next product!

      We've recently released a firmware update that uses some of those "under construction" pages. Not sure we'll do much more there, but you never know! We're trying to keep the rev1 and rev2 at feature parity, but rev1 is totally out of space for saving any new parameters. So we're adding things that do not necessarily require parameter storage.

      The update is on the conductivelabs.com website, and there are a couple of videos describing them.

    I have one coming in the mail today. :) However based on this video "pretty simple to use" and "very little menu diving" don't seem like accurate statements. Still looking forward to jamming with it though.

      It's actually pretty intuitive in use and the manual is very well-written, it just takes a few days to really dig in.

  • @BurkhardusX
    @BurkhardusX 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    why couldn't you give the noodle maker a slightly larger display? In our day and age, I don't want to have to work on such a tiny one anymore.

    • @DarrylMcGee
      @DarrylMcGee 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once its sitting in front of you, you might find it easy enough to read. Its got decent resolution and its in color. Four years ago when we designed it, it was the right choice. A bigger display takes more space, make the whole device bigger and costs more. For what The NDLR offers functionally, it works great. That is, its not an MPC One DAW in a box, its a sequenced arpeggiator. My only real complaint is how much data is on the main screen, but since the screen changes with context, just by turning a knob, its pretty easy to see what's going on.

    • @BurkhardusX
      @BurkhardusX 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DarrylMcGee You don't need to compare it to the MPC series. There is much gear around in the size of the NDLR.
      Look at the blackbox from 1010 music, the polyend tracker, the Lab4Music Sipario, the new BlueArp DM, but of course it would make it 150$ more expensive.
      You could stay with the same form factor you had, just move the pots more to the left and right, spare the printed labels, move 4 buttons to the top and 4 buttons to the bottom of the screen.
      Anyway, that is just my personal opinion.
      And about the chord detection. That is not so complicated as you mentioned, all arranger keyboards have chord detection. You can play usual 3-note chords and an algorithm could detect what the root note is. It also works for 4 note seventh-chords.

    I am kind a sad that the bass is gone

    • @ConductiveLabs
      @ConductiveLabs  5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The “Bass” is gone only in name. We decided to have 2 full featured motifs. I like to think of one motif as the lead line and the second motif as the bass. In addition the drone can act as a simple bass too.

      Thanks for the comment. It’s always a struggle to keep the video short enough and still have enough information. TH-cam has a way to watch a Videos at different speeds. And they added a nice pitch shift for the voice so it sounds normal regardless of the speed.
