What is CodeNames?
Let me be the first to say that I think this game is better live so chat can also guess and lose their mind. But I still wanted to post it. Youll like it!
Two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words while avoiding the words of the other team. In a variant with 2-3 players, one spymaster gives clues to the other player or players.
So the Spy Master of each time will say a word and a number. The word given is the connecting word that relates to OTHER words on the board. The Number given is how many OTHER words on the board it relates to.
First team to guess all of the words without hitting a bomb wins. If you guess an opponent words or a free spot your turn ends and the other team goes
You'll pick it up fast!

I mean Junk accidentally clicked on bean instead of taking off his name so they were between Choking & Jam for which one they liked the most so it really didnt prove Chilled right especially when for the first minute Kara basically said what it was 5+ times and that two of words that it would of got first (Brazil and Sword) had already been got meaning they would of just been between Choking and Jam (which most likely the might of said they jam the meat on the sword as part of getting sword), just like the other team were gonna be and not jam and Genghis Khan which getting the wrong answer gives a much easier end game for the other team

2, let's go through the hypothetical and say Chilled would have used Fogo instead of Skewer, both for 3. Brazil would have been gotten even easier. Then they have to get sword and Jam, both before any other words: bean, choking, and Gengis (much easier avoided this time though). Based on the decision to click both Bean and Choking before Jam (bean, while accidentally early, was definitely going to be picked sooner), by a party that did not know, it's safe to say that Jam would definitely be left. Sword is much more of a toss up, one that I believe is much less in favor of getting picked compared to skewer. Fogo is much less tied to sword than the generalities of restaurants: choking and Bean.
Likely board positions afterwards: Gengis, Jam, Sword, and either bean or choking. Most gengis clues are going to be unmistakable so I'd say that platy would have an easy time tying Gengis to Bean or Choking, and even if he hadn't, play returning to Chilled: Chilled now has to tie Jam to Sword instead of have them figure out just Jam (like he would have here if play returned to him), so Skewer now brings up the Gengis issue if that was a problem before, one that was not addressed before so he'd fall for the same trappings as before. I suppose it works out if they get Gengis but not the tie, but that entirely relies on Platy's theoretical word.
Ultimately, at best, I feel like he'd be in a similar situation, but be more likely worse off.

The best part about Codenames is watching the spymaster put a simple word down that should be easy to match with words and then it devolves into choas and madness as they try to decipher the mind of the spymaster.

You probably pissed off a lot of teachers misspelling words that were in the question.. And if you aren't a kid, it's probably impacting your job prospects pretty severely. Especially considering auto correct is a fucking thing that has existed for decades

Ravin really messed up with Master Po. Pan actually makes sense, not just for panda, but Po worked in a noodle shop and used pans in his legendary battle at the end of the first movie. Then Po wore a pan as a hat in an iconic scene. The opening battle of the 2nd movie the enemy is stealing metal to smelt mostly consisting of pots and pans. Po's step father is a goose, who also uses a pan in the 3rd movie as a weapon. Every Kung Fu Panda movie features literal pans, there might even be more scenes with pans than scenes with Po's step father. Using Po (Voiced by Jack Black) as a clue when Pan is an enemy card is really dumb, there are like 4 ways Po is associated with Pans so even if you know the movies it's a bad clue. The master of Po is a little red panda named Master Shifu (Voiced by Dustin Hoffman) who used his flute as a weapon and flute sounds played even when Shifu fought without a flute. And yes he did fight a buffalo villain which could be considered a minotaur. Also you should watch the trilogy Chilled, I think you would like it a lot. They are actually great movies.
edit: I rewatched the final fight scene to check, and I counted roughly 42 pans in the fight. lmao, he literally stumbles in front of a pan store.

Will admit, given the Kung Fu bit with Master Po, I was thinking more the old Shaolin monk from David Carradine show Kung Fu where Carradine's character was wandering around America helping people. Po would appear in flashbacks and was a blind master who would teach some key piece of wisdom to Carradine's character in the flashback which would then be used in the show. Also, that gives flute as in his travels he would stop and play the flute he carried everywhere with him.
I didn't even initially go to Kung Fu Panda until they started talking about it.

When I saw the words "Jam", "Sword" and "Brazil" and Chilled asked if there was a brazilian sword fighting technique, I immediately thought about "Jetstream Sam" from Metal Gear Rising. It would have been the perfect clue. :)

Our politics here in the states currently aren’t any better. It started with Trump accusing Obama of having a fake birth certificate, to politicians on the right burning books, putting bounties on women’s heads for getting abortions, trying to overthrow the government with BS conspiracy theories about the election being stolen and on and on. Our country is getting crazier everyday.

There are some eco systems in which mosquitoes are one of the only or predominate source of food for the animals. Take the Arctic tundra, for example, where several mosquito species are particularly abundant and provide food for migratory birds. If mosquitoes were eliminated, the number of birds in the area could drop by more than half. If we removed mosquitoes from the planet it would ripple through the food chain causing catastrophic starvation and devastating entire eco systems. This has been talked about by scientists for hundreds of years. So Kara as intelligent as she might be is 100% completely off base on this one. Mosquitoes are not only annoying but the deadliest thing on this planet to humans being carriers of malaria which kills approximately 1 mil people every year and infects another 240 million annually. But mosquitoes feed fish,frogs,birds,bats and countless other species around the globe. Removing them would slow malaria but would also kill off so many species of animals it could potentially ripple through to major wide spread famine and death. Food for thought.

Mosquitos are also pollinators.
Most species of mosquitos don’t bite humans, but the species that does bite humans is relatively insignificant all things considered. So I do know that they are thinking about exterminating that species specifically.

Mosquitos do have a purpose in an ecosystem, parasites are useful to control the population of species with few predators. If a percentage of a population dies to parasitic infection or virus/bacteria spread by mosquitoes and leeches then it prevents overpopulation and provides a useful food source for scavengers and decomposers!
Not to mention the males drink nectar and juices from a lot of plants, making them the main pollinators. They aren’t plants we necessarily need or consume, but if mosquitoes are wiped out, then we would probably lose thousands of species of plants.

Of course mosquitoes have a purpose. There are entire food chains dependent on mosquitoes and their larvae. An ACTUAL evolutionary biologist would know that. A streamer with a degree she doesn’t use wouldn’t know that
Yeah I rejected that idea straight away. I have a background in biology and as far as I know the only animal that can be removed from ecosystems without harm is the tapeworm.

I believe the main arguments regarding mosquitoes isn't that they can't serve any purpose at all, rather it's that there are a number of other creatures that can serve their various purposes better than them without harming humans.

Mosquitoes form an important source of biomass in the food chain-serving as food for fish as larvae and for birds, bats and frogs as adult flies-and some species are important pollinators.
And, as undesirable as it is to our own perspective as a species, pestilence and disease are an important part of an ecology... and mosquitos are amazing at carrying and spreading those things. :/

I'm with you an estimated 110 trillion mosquitoes across nearly all of the planet, weighing 2.5-10 milligrams each that's 250 million to 1 billion kg of mosquito.
there are thousands of species of mosquitoes, but only around a hundred that spread human diseases. I believe they would try to find methodologies to target those specific species that spread human disease rather than all kinds, but a practical way to do so has not been discovered yet. if they did succeed in wiping those specific ones out, the other species of mosquitoes and other similar types of insects would gradually take over the niches left behind given enough time.
@@maysee2515 there would still be negatives to such an action. Disease carrying mosquitoes are some of the largest populations and they also help to keep the populations of other animals in check by their spreading of diseases.

Mosquitoes are actually very important for the environment. The males are actually huge pollinators, and without them thousands of plant species would become threatened. And, even though they are tiny and animals eat other things, their sheer numbers actually make up for a rather large portion of the food chain. So the old "If Mosquitoes went extinct, nothing bad would happen" is just a fake fact that angry people made up to justify the eradication of what they consider a pest.

For Brazil, Jam, and Sword, I was thinking along the lines of "waxing" since there's something called Brazilian wax, sword can be considered a sharp object to shave, and jam could be used in terms of wax, but I would also try shaving or a sword? I dunno, just my two cents!

Kung Fu Panda is arguable one of the best series of animated films ever created. It seems like a stupid premise, but it has a surprising level of depth and has some excellent characters and performances.
