What is CodeNames?
Let me be the first to say that I think this game is better live so chat can also guess and lose their mind. But I still wanted to post it. Youll like it!
Two teams compete by each having a "spymaster" give one-word clues that can point to multiple words on the board. The other players on the team attempt to guess their team's words while avoiding the words of the other team. In a variant with 2-3 players, one spymaster gives clues to the other player or players.
So the Spy Master of each time will say a word and a number. The word given is the connecting word that relates to OTHER words on the board. The Number given is how many OTHER words on the board it relates to.
First team to guess all of the words without hitting a bomb wins. If you guess an opponent words or a free spot your turn ends and the other team goes
You'll pick it up fast!

I love any video that has Courtilly in it. She's either cracked, or 100% smooth brained. There is no in between.
Just gotta get everybody on the same wavelength in a lot of these team games, and with this game in particular, it really is 50-50 whether you get brilliancy or an absolute dumpster fire. Both make for chaos and content for sure.
I love how Chilled freaks out when they pull clues out of their asses when he's spymaster, but he also does the same shit for them as a guesser.
Anytime Courtilly is guessing on Chilled's terms is A+ content.
They are hilariously incompatible.
At 13:15 and the most prominent thought in my head, "Courtilly is always wrong."
This video makes me believe Courtilly would be absolutely cracked as a solo guesser for anyone except for Chilled in this game, considering their track record as teammates here.

To be fair to her, so does Chilled. And Ze. Actually, theirs tend to be.... more wild.
One of these days Chilled is going to be the Spymaster and he's just going to give the clue "I give up these guys are the worst so its all on the three stooges I have" for infinite. Then he just sits back and watches as his operatives freak out at being abandoned by their Spymaster before setting off the bomb.

@@derockgonecrazy I mean, in some instances, yeah I can see that. But more often than not, that isn't going to happen. The most that streaming can do negatively is probably create a parasocial relationship between the audience and the streamer, but thats a topic I'm not getting into.

I love the freak outs when they start overthinking an amazing clue and thinking random words that have nothing to do with the clue. Especially when they had all the right words clicked at one point and then veering off.

If Chilled had gotten one more chance with the Valentine/Boom/Turkey words, holiday would have been perfect. Boom = Independence Day and Turkey = Thanksgiving Day
Courtilly only knowing half the reason for kegels and not exactly what it is is hilarious
(It doesn't work the bladder muscle lmao, it works the pelvic floor. It can help women (and men) stop pee midstream, or help inconsistent urination. The more widely know use for it is improving sexual functions. Aka make it tighter (women) or last longer (men)

The moment Platy mentioned 'that one group where there's like a bee and a chameleon' for the Sonic part, I instantly cheered out "Team Chaotix!". Still a Sonic fan even after all these years of having grown up with it all, even back as far as Sonic Underground where Sonic had siblings, Sonya and Manic.

But I do agree with you about DumbDog and Courtilly being probably the best Spymaster duo as far as logic goes. Chilled and Platy is pure content. I need to see if Speedy has the round with him and Sidearms as Spymasters, that’s gotta be content.

kegels are a female-only 'kegel exercise' involving holding something (usually attached to a light weight maybe one to five lbs/ 0.5 to 2.5 kilograms for beginners) with the vaginal muscles alone. Kegel exercises, of which kegels are a part despite only being for women, are designed to workout the floor muscles of the abdomen. This includes things like situps, planks, standing waist twists, and so fourth. (Basically, a ton of different yoga exercises are technically considered a kegel exercise but there is a lot more to it than just yoga)

Magneto isn’t just magnetic, he controls all metals🥹
Incorrect: Magneto can only control magnetic fields, yet has great reach. If an object is non-magnetic he cannot touch them. Both the comics and movies state this. While many metals can be conteoled this way, there are some that he could NOT stop. Like nickle cased bullets I think are non-magnetic. Or copper. I forgot what kind of casing he could not stop within fire arms that he would be susceptable to.

I think for Courtilly the problem when she’s spymaster is that chilled is and will always be a wild card, so instead of learning the wild card she prefers to play with the other 2 common cards. I think she needs to start learning how chill plays, yes she has a 50/50 of getting things right but it’s better than 0/0
It's a shame I don't think any of them know metal gear solid 3. Because at 1:12:58 would have been a fantastic time to drop either the virtuous mission or Big Boss as a clue. It would've covered Snake, and fence definitely. You could definitely stretch it for hairy piles, and avocado as you can eat a lot in that game.

there are two teams - red and blue. each of these are divided into two types of players, that can have a variable number of players - operative(s) and spymaster(s) - with the number of players in each category raging between 1 to i think 4? the spymaster(s) has/have to give a clue, which is one word or a proper noun, combining words of their assigned colour (and avoiding neutral cards and especially the black card, that tapping instantly ends the game giving the victory to the team that didn't tap the card) by meaning (and meaning only, spelling or placement clues etc. are not allowed) and their operative(s) has/have to figure out which are their words. the team that taps all of their words first wins

As Chilled said - “at which level of wealth are people eating out of marble bowls?” Or have marble toilet bowls? Or marble statues in their garden (Ze). Bowl was a damn good clue. And they had to go for it, it was either bowl for the 4 they needed or die trying. As it happened, the other team got duel and Speedy was right, you can indeed duel with marbles. Definitely picking marble over fiddle (I didn’t know DWDTG was a fiddle song, I only know it from Guitar Hero 🤷🏻♂️) and certainly over Steve Buscemi. Big gamble from DumbDog and Courtilly.

That’s what they were trying to avoid. If you have guacamole but not avocado, how do you avoid avocado being clicked? They had carrot as well, if they have all three then the best clue would be “food”, as there were no other food associated words. But carrots and guacamole can be linked together while being separated from avocado with “dip”, as avocado is the main ingredient in guacamole but isn’t a dip itself, and you can eat carrot sticks with a dip.

It’s word association. You kind of pick it up as the video goes on, as you get to see their thought processes. But a great example in this one is the middle game where the red team had guacamole and carrot as a seer tiles, but not avocado - the key here is to link carrot and guacamole, but not avocado. The clue given was “dip” - guacamole is a dip, and you can eat carrots sticks with a dip, but avocado isn’t specific to “dip”, even though it’s the main ingredient in guacamole. If they had all three words, you would give the clue “food” as there are no other words associated with food, so no risk of it being wrong. Linking two specific foods separate from the third takes a bit more thinking.
I hope that gives you a bit more understanding on top of Ashley Allen’s explanation.
It’s not an easy game to get into straight away (I tried teaching my family at Xmas and they gave up on it 😢), but when you do get the hang of it, it can be a lot of fun.
