      Playstation has already stated that they aren't stupid enough to compete in the handheld market. They'll only compete if they know they can dominate the market and not merely place 5th or 6th place. Besides, I would bet that most Playstation gamers won't be able to afford both a gaming console and a handheld gaming device considering many of them are children and college students. Nintendo has solved that problem by making their console both portable and dock-able.

    steamdeck is an ecosystem, an OS. Sony is optimizing their games for Steamdeck. Under Asus, no one will set up their games, because the point is in the approach. Asus made a portable PC with a gamepad, and Valve made their console, which has been in development for several generations, they have already talked about steamdeck 2, which will be better, but not more powerful, so as not to upset gamers and interfere with developers. It seems to me that this is the main thing. Sorry, this is google translate, I don't know English, Thank you for the video! =)

    • @mhinkle82
      @mhinkle82 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The only reason Steam Deck needs games to be optimized is because of Steam OS itself. PC games are made for Windows and need Proton and sometimes additional optimization to run on Steam OS. I have a Steam Deck and GPD Win 4 and games run better on the Win 4 without the special optimization.

    • @wiltisdabest
      @wiltisdabest ปีที่แล้ว +2

      the steamdeck 2 will definitely be more powerful. it isn't coming anytime soon, of course it will be more powerful. this thing is already more powerful, so it can run all things the deck does but better.

    • @MrValgard
      @MrValgard ปีที่แล้ว +1

      On other hand if something isn't optimized/verify for proton can run worse. Here u have more power and more option for emulation (win on steamdec eat half resources). Overall X2 more performance for X2 the price+better screan. Fair priced considering velve subsidised hardware

    • @munamahmed291
      @munamahmed291 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can just use steam os on this. If developers are prioritizing the steam deck that just means they are optimizing for band held devices so they will all benefit.

    By the way SF6 runs at 1080p60 with Internal resolution at 5 (max) with no issues today. I’m guessing that charging the battery while playing on day 1 was causing some thermal throttling or something. Anyway, will continue to test!

      awesome news bro. literally the only reason i have no steamdeck yet, is the fact it struggles to run games like sf6 as smooth and without that dealbreaking input lag. but the asus rog will not have a dock, like steam deck has, right? i just wanted to have a mobile pc, that is capable of running fighting games with no downsides and also is a replacement for my desktop pc + 20 m hdmi cable across 3 rooms, to connect it with the tv in the living room... seems like i have to wait a little bit longer, but future is promising.
      edit: i'm surprised you didn't mention the build quality of the face buttons. they seem to get stuck easily, like x-box buttons. linus also mentioned it in his review (he said, he jammed them multiple times... i think he meant they are stuck, possible without even triggering, since this exact issue i have with xbox controllers and those buttons seem very similar to me.). those buttons are another dealbreaker for me, sadly.
      EDIT 2: well, i figured out you seem to have the option to even connect it with an external graphics card and of course to somewhat easy connect it with a monitor as well... so really, the only downside to me would be my issue with the face buttons, lol. would be nice, if you could test this awesome piece of hardware a little more indepth and in a real setup for competetive gaming :D

      @@LXIVGOLD "This is not a threat to nintendo" ..... okieee dokie.... As a Software and Network engineer myself who works in gaming. PLEASE BELIEVE, Handheld PC gaming isa HUGE threat to nintendo...... HUGE... First thing to consider, Nintendo has always had Handheld and Table top consoles simultaneously and even when they had TableTop console failures like the WiiU, Gamecube(was kinda not that successful ! Check the numbers) and the Nintendo 64 (Also wasn't that successful, Check the numbers ), they've ALWAYS dominated the handheld market because they didn't have much competition there....... Now they only have 1 sku that i don't believe they can leave i.e Hybrid Handheld..... unlike before, they are now DIRECTLY in the line of fire of Handheld devices like this one...... don't fool yourself into the false narrative that "Nintendos Software and IP is why people go to nintendo".... because the WIIU had Nintendo IP, FAILED! the DS initially wasn't much of a success either. What did the "Strongest Global IP" do for the WiiU? which was released RIGHT AFTER one of the MOST POPULAR consoles in the history of humanity i.e The Wii? aka right after one of Nintendos MOST POPULAR eras ?
      Nintendo's next move is their MOST IMPORTANT move....... Don't fool yourself one bit.... Nintendo is FULLY AWARE of what's transpired since the steamdeeck came in at a $399 pricepoint
      does this mean that nintendo fails immediately? absolutely not because they have a big enough base to find success in their next project.... BUT, this DEFINTELY MEANS that a LARGE ENOUGH amount of people who got a switch because it was the only handheld option at a $399 price point will ABSOLUTELY chose more powerful options that play the games they ACTUALLY want to play...which cuts DIRECTLY into nintendos pockets.. ps a "More Powerful Switch 2" is not going to change that fact either because all these devices have power....

    ROG Ally is not perfect, when playing 3A games, the battery life is only 90~120 minutes ( Steam Deck also has the same battery life), but under the same operating conditions, ROG Ally has a stable and acceptable at least 36~40 FPS (Frame Per Second) , and the Steam Deck only has an embarrassing 25~30FPS
    I expect AMD to update the new APU driver in the future, let ROG Ally can have lower power consumption and longer battery life under the premise of unchanged Frame Per Second
