You nailed it with developers trying to make games too big- this was definitely the case with Starfield- whereas I actually played through it and readily enjoyed it, it was so large that it was actually annoying. I would have much rather it be a 3rd of it's size but with more detail on each planet than 400 planets with basically nothing on it.
Now I understand why peolpe like indie games some much. These triple A delopers be taking years or a whole decade to release their game. And on top of that, they really expensive. And some of us just can't afford to invest $60-$70 and more in todays climate to play a triple a blockbuster.
a really unfortunate side effect of these large intervals is that we see less trial and error in AAA space, it used to be that in 10 yrs Rockstar could put out a bunch of games with various flavors and concepts and then learn what worked and what didn't, and we got to play all these interesting varied attempts
@@JacobCruise in a way this company is very japanese. Yamaha makes really good bikes, Toyota makes really good Trucks and Fromsoft make really good Dark Souls games. Theyre just sticking to what theyre good at.
Elder Scrolls are my favorite games, but at this point I don't even want to play the next elder scrolls game, especially after being disappointed with Starfield. It just taken so long and I feel like i need to move onto a different franchise.
Plus the watered down, less choice driven experiences betwn ES3 ES4 and ES5. Sure Skyrim is iconic and a full world, but is it as unique and interesting as oblivion and morrowind? To me, not at all. And starfield was basically just a more combat heavy version of no mans sky, a game that came out 5 years before it did. So i definitely get your point
I think they put too much emphasis on Amazing Graphics, then they just end up looking extremely generic, this year I played The Remastered version of Tomb Raider 2013 and thought it looked Amazing.
would really like to learn why so many developers and qa is needed to make a game, and what theyre doing exactly. music is not really any factor to this prolonged developement.
Why games take long to make? They want to add more details, perfect game play, and harder stage to make worth more dollar than you work. No body wants to give you shitty games. No body wants TH-cam make rants about this game is garbage shit. laughing on TH-cam. it's hurts game dev. it feels like cyberbullying.
The Modern Game Paradox:
Games take too long to make, yet there’s too many games available to play.
One must imagine gamers happy
