Building on fire can spread rather quickly if it is not fire resistance or insulated properly. Please don't place your burning candle or hot electrical devices so near to curtain, book or clothing, they can catch fire easily. Be thoughtful of your safety and neighbors, just 1 fire can kill many at once. 👋👋
Good documentary! 👍 Always good to know what are the potential fire hazards in the home. Best to have a fire extinguisher at home and install smoke detector in the kitchen.
Great informative production. I hope CNA will consider dubbing it into Mandarin, Malay and Tamil too so that the elderly can watch and learn how to prevent fire at home too.
There could be 6 or 8 or 10 devices plugged into a wall outlet with the help of power strips. But it’s not how many things are plugged into it but the total power draw.
I see the other problem in the 5 room condominium. There are two schuko/european plugs connected to the power strip but it is not grounded because of the lack of a proper adapter.
Two approach to counter increasing HDB flats on fire: - one is to bring about awareness on many possible indoor fire hazards towards all different races and cultural backgrounds with no way to ensure anything as it is up to individual behaviour. - next option is for town councils to enforce strictly to ensure fire escape path(corridors, stairs, voiducts,etc) cleared as SCDF guidelines stated… this, imho, is much more workable n efficiency as time is running out waiting for the next fire to endanger more lives n destroy more homes.
Photoelectric Smoke Alarms, Heat Detectors, CO Detectors, Beam Detectors, Duct Smoke Detectors, Tamper Switches, Water Flow Switches, Sprinkler Systems, are all components of detection systems. In the US, apartment homes, buildings, etc., will have a direct line by telephone or radio to the Fire Department, who will be directly informed if a fire situation occurs. The main Fire Alarm Control Panel will serve as the focal point for the firemen when they arrive. This video was a good intro, but as a Fire Alarm professional, they barely scratched the surface of fire detection, annunciation, notifiers, and so on. Public safety programs can also be instituted, with appropriate inducements to motivate people to join in and learn safe practices.
