My favourite rolling donut is on O'Connell St, there is this tiny little stall they do only about 3 flavours and they are mini-donuts but they cook them fresh right there in front of you. You leave with a piping hot bag of mini-donuts for dirt cheap and it doesn't get much better on a chilly night.

We had our work Christmas party in Dublin, and before I got the bus back west I went, hungover as shit to that rolling donut and got a bag of half sugar, half sugar and cinnamon donuts. It was the best cure. And bonus, kept me warm waiting for the bus 🤣

Got back from Ireland a month ago. we did the ice cream shop. They will give you lots of tastes and will do combo servings. Excellent highly recommend.
As a Dub, I still don't get why the Leo Burdocks in Temple Bar - and any of the other Burdocks' they tried opening throughout the city in the past - have always been so much worse than the original near Christchurch.
Looks like a huge portion of delicious looking stew.

Great review on the good places in Dublin. Good combination of restaurants and cafe's. I have say one thing though, Leo's fish n chips are a little over-rated for what they are. I was there in 95 with 15 Dutch tourists. Not one of them said, perfect, great stuff or anything similar to that. However, the reviews were pretty excellant and a good variety and not the usual, ' great Irish food thing etc'

I prefer Beshoffs Bros for fish and chips..they use rape seed oil so lighter..one on dame street or baggot street or howth..

My sister lives in Howth so coming from city center, 'be smart, take the dart' to Howth and try Beshoffs. Not to mention, sea air, nice walking options and fisn n chips....a good day out.

I reckon the reason Leo Burdocks is famous is that the one in Rathmines, which is a relatively fancy part of Dublin was visited by so many celebs that were staying in the area in the fancy hotels. McDonaghs in Galway for the win!!

No. The one the celebs go to is not in Rathmines but the original one opposite Christchurch on Werburgh Street. It’s the original location and take away only. However it is also completely overrated, overpriced and should be avoided.
Good video. Just so people know the pub down the road from The Dublin Pizza Company is The Swan Bar and not The Black Swan as mentioned in the video.

Beshoff is a better chipper
All looked well chosen, apart from the mistake with Temple Bar for Burdocks.
Chimac is going to get a visit next time I'm in the area.
The thing with the pizza to that pub is pretty cool, but far from the norm.

@@jimmyandbabstravels I've had Dublin Pizza a few times, it's decent, but at best a 8/10 rating.
My point was regarding getting food from any place, and then going to a pub to eat it.
The vast majority of places like a pub, are not going to happy about people bringing in food to eat. That the Black Swan is, is not the normal... you wouldn't expect that elsewhere. You do not want to try bring in pizza boxes into O'Niells, for an example.
We understand that, it was recommended and many others were doing the same. We wouldn’t do that at any pub in general ☺️
