I WILL NEVER BUY ADOBE, fudge them. If you want a good quality digital art program that is one time payment and doesnt feel like a bloody highway robbery (i'm talking to you adobe!!!) then buy Clipstudio Paint, you can do a monthly/annual sub for it if you want their cloud servers (also available on android and ios) which is useful if you wanna draw on the go with an android/apple phone and continue on your laptop in the cafe or on your pc at home. or you can just pay once to get a lifetime program, its freaking amazing. i use Clipstudio Paint EX along with Procreate (Ipad pro) for all of my digital art needs, i dont need anything else, especially nothing from adobe.
Being a graphic designer myself, I'll add three more things that changed a lot for me. A good calibrated monitor, a good keyboard and last but very very important a comfortable mouse! I have 20 years under my belt, and being comfortable for long hours is very important. Just recently I've got myself an ergonomic chair. Absolutely a game changer. I actually have a two monitor setup, on a monitor stand. One is actually a 24 inch drawing tablet. Love it. And actually one more thing 😅 a good set of noise cancelling headphones, or some type of plugs. Mine are Loop earplugs, lowering noice, but you can still hear important conversations and be productive. For the time I listen to music, or edit videos, the Sony WH-1000WX3 are just perfect. ❤
Hey Ren bro I have discovered a pen which works for my iPad 6th gen WiFi variant, actually its not a pen but more likely as a pen. In my State we use it in curry which is lady's finger or okra vegetable. that vegetable is working fine on my iPad. hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaa
I just must add two important things, a color correct monitor when you are more oriented to a print design and a really but really good ergonomic mice!
I am personally very disenchanted with adobe products. I only pay for it because it’s the “industry standard.” There are so many open source options and pay once alternatives (like the affinity suite) that are very competitive if not just as good imo. On another note, I recommend buying the ssd and external enclosure separately. You’ll save money and you can easily swap out drives or enclosures if anything is ever damaged. A NAS would be another good addition for long term storage and backups.

Great video. That table looks super cool btw 😊😊. I probably can't afford to get tons of these stuffs but I know with time i will 😊. I think one important thing to own also is a "blue lens glass"(I'm not entirely sure that's what they're called but it's the best description of it I could give😊). It helps with the eye strain that comes from looking at the screen for a long period of time. Sounds pretty basic but it really helps.

Like i can only buy ipad pro or mackbook air m1 which one i can go for first....... For my graphic designer journey???? Plzzzz let me know its really helpful for me I’m bit confused 🥺
As an inexperienced graphic designer this is the exact kind of content I expect from TH-cam. Subscribed immediately. Also, I have done some commissions here and there using my pc and Wacom intuos (my only tools rn) and I am learning that you really need to focus on building up skills and popularity first, but it's good to have an upgrade plan like this in mind.
I agree about the phone. It's like a portable mini-computer for me...since you can download practically anything from google store. Even though you don't have the latest models, as long as you got enough RAM and storage space to download and run the apps you need. And If I can add something to that list it would be either a good pair of earphone/noise cancelling headphones/ or a speaker - to listen to music or some audiobook while you work. helps me focus... oh...and coffee (not a Gadget, but very important 😁)
In my country we have a community called I hate graphic design created by graphic designers 🤣 I love it I used to be part of it but I quit design so I don't enter there anymore. So funny . Respect for the warriors working as graphic designers, not being ironic here is very stressful job. Love design but not working as one.
Cheap if you're gonna earn because of it.. expensive if it is just a liability and doesn't give you return.. all of the gudgets are like that.. if it doesn't help you earn it is really expensive but if it makes your business/work easier it is an investment..
This is great! I will definitely show my students. I'm experiencing mouse / mousepad issues. I've tried quite a few things, but I'm still lacking precision. I found lots of info on gaming mouse pads, but not much for graphic designers. Any ideas?
I think ultimately a mouse will only give you a certain amount of accuracy. If you need more, I would suggest a Wacom Cintiq. As far as mouses go, I've tried roller balls, track pads, and tradidional mouses and they are all about the same for me so I just went the traditional router with my apple mouse. Sometime I only use the trackpad and have become really use to that after 5 years.
Hey I'm a high school graphic and communication student , I need to buy a laptop for school , but I don't have any idea of what laptop take , could you recommend me some that don't cost more than 1500 €? ( I'm italian sorry for my english)
@@adrianboysel waw thanks for the reply. But unfortunately i am a freelancer so need more flexibility. Does procreate can edit photos like adobe photoshop? Or should i use laptop instead? Thank you 🙏
The pro is definitely worth it. If you are going to Sacrafice anything it should be size not performance. It's honeslty one of the greatest devices my wife uses her as if it's her laptop.
Been using Adobe softwares like more than ten years and earlier with MacBook pro and nowadays on 27” iMac and iPad. Wouldn’t go back to Windows based PC for any price. Also wouldn’t change the electric desk neighter, it’s awesome that you can lift it up and stand for awhile!

ok.. so I'll start my first year as a visual communication "illustration" student.. so I'm confused should i buy a 2 in 1 laptop so i can either draw on it and everything else or should i buy ipad and a good laptop.. so confused 👁👄👁💔 p.s: ive always wanted to have an ipad with the apple pen. especially that I'm done with drawing on note 10+ with the s pen
this is a very good question, just depends on what type of budget you have. I personally love the iPad Pro with the pen. A 2 in 1 is a more affordable option and you get both in one device (less the carry), it comes down to budget and yes it will be much better than the 10+ either way you go. Thanks for sharing your question!
Adobe softwares are the best no doubt in that. But it’s not a must have. You can do your job with affinity suite. I know I can, but I agree that Adobe has more features that make your work easier. But their iPad apps are terrible . Also phone is not necessary at all in my opinion. Even best phones are too small ? Im not say you don’t need gadgets tho. They make your work more enjoyable
Got a Lenovo flex 15 with touch with a graphic pen display tablet so I can pinch, zoom rotate with my laptop and draw on my tablet. Amazon refurbished laptop hunts can be very productive if you're patient. BTW would you recommend the tab s7 by samsung?
Nice insight into technology gadgets to consider for the graphic design field. While it would be great to have the latest technology for your graphic design profession, for those that may be on a budget such as students, you may want to consider purchasing an older model used/refurbished fully working MacBook Pro. My older model MacBook and MacBook Pro still thankfully work just fine with Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and Flash. I don't use any other Adobe programs so I wouldn't know how they would respond being used on a older MacBook/Macbook Pro. As long as the files are not too large and data intensive, the computer should be adequate enough to operate the above listed Adobe programs especially if you update the RAM which is fairly inexpensive. The computer may not be the fastest but it should suffice to get you by. You can always upgrade to something newer and more powerful in the future when/if your finances permit it. Just thought Id share what has worked well for me. All the best to everyone. Thanks for sharing.
@@adrianboysel Not a problem at all, glad I could help. I would also recommend purchasing an external hard drive enclosure so you can swap in/out hard drives that can also be installed internally into your laptop. I find the enclosure to be more flexible than a standard sealed external hard drive since you can choose exactly what specifications you want out of your hard drive and it can fulfill a duel role purpose as an external/internal hard drive. As long as you frequent Time Machine updates, if ever your hard drive crashes, you can easily swap out the hard drive from the enclosure and use that as an internal hard drive with your Time Machine update in tact.

What iPad is the best for designing
I personally love the ipad pro 12.9"
Thank you ❤️
Like i can only buy ipad pro or mackbook air m1 which one i can go for first....... For my graphic designer journey???? Plzzzz let me know its really helpful for me I’m bit confused 🥺
Macbook air will coat about thebsme as the ipad and give you more functionality.
@@adrianboysel yaa i will go for mackbook air m1 actually i have mackbook air 2017 so I’m going to upgrade it to new m1 😇
Very insightful and straight to the point.. I'm a big fan
Thanks brother, pretty funny video.
I agree the products don’t make the designer. HOWEVER, they can make life easier and only further your skills. Great video
Thanks so much Tyler!!!!
This is so cool, thank you Helder!!!
Yeah, Took me less than 30 secs to subscribe him. So great he is. 😂😅
Same here, fantastic content!
I wanna be a graphic designer and work for insomniac
The desk got me😂
Haha me being silly
Where did you get your graphic design tablet not the ipad?
Hi. This is really very helpful. Thanks for sharing your gear ideas with us. What is the cover you have on your smartphone? I'd like to get one too.
You’re welcome, I bought it on Amazon I’ll have to look it up for you.
@@adrianboysel thanks, Adrian.
Thanks bro, they are all worth purchasing.
Thanks for watching Amadu!!! I agree they pay for themselves.
Hello and thanks really loved this video 🙌🏻
I'm so happy to hear that. Thanks for commenting.
How about a mice? Btw can I ask which mouse you are using?
I just use a regular mouse from Bestbuy.
@@adrianboysel thank you but does the mice affect the daily job as a graphic designer? I intend to buy Logitech MX anywhere 3s!
You deserve an applaud... More grace
❤🙏
Great video man!
Thanks so much
Holy moly 🤣🤣🤣🤣best graphic design video on TH-cam
That is the nicest comment ever!!! 🙏 thank you and nice name!
Haha, I used to drink Coffee now I drink Yerba Mate tea instead and no crash. Thanks so much for saying high and sharing your insights!!!
@@adrianboysel Glad to share 😁. We don't make art with magic, so we need to get ourselves the right tools and make a proper work space.
Amen, that's great advice and mindset.
In my country we have a community called I hate graphic design created by graphic designers 🤣 I love it I used to be part of it but I quit design so I don't enter there anymore. So funny . Respect for the warriors working as graphic designers, not being ironic here is very stressful job. Love design but not working as one.
Hi. Been thinking of getting a MacBook myself. I wanted to ask if I can just go with any recent model or look for ones with dedicated graphic cards.
The most recent one's will do the job easily. If you edit video and iMac would he a faster option.
I love graphic designing not because I love drawing but actually I love using this this gadgets😍 😂😅
🤣 love it, you be you🙏
It's astounding to me that there isn't a single comment that you didn't liked. Guess you really love your audience.
I LOVE them, wouldn't be here without you.
Your face when the desk was moving down😂
I couldn't replicate the hilariousness of this if I tried.
@@adrianboysel 😂
Thanks,! Much helpful
Glad it was helpful! 🙏🏼
'Apple pencil is really cheap'
Really huh!?
haha, no it's actually not. Nothing they have it cheap but it is awesome.
Cheap if you're gonna earn because of it.. expensive if it is just a liability and doesn't give you return.. all of the gudgets are like that.. if it doesn't help you earn it is really expensive but if it makes your business/work easier it is an investment..
This is gold Faith!!!
@@mtnk096 yeah that's true
Thank you for sharing!
thank you for commenting!!!! Super cool name btw!
You inspired me to invest man keep it up
That means a lot to me, thank you Kabelo!
Hey I'm a high school graphic and communication student , I need to buy a laptop for school , but I don't have any idea of what laptop take , could you recommend me some that don't cost more than 1500 €? ( I'm italian sorry for my english)
I have a video for that.
Thank you! it helps
Thanks for stopping by :)
Hi! Wanna ask, I used photoshop often for design. I interested to change laptop into tablet. Should I use ipad or mac if I use photoshop? Thanks
if you are a full-time designer and getting paid, I recommend using a computer.
@@adrianboysel waw thanks for the reply. But unfortunately i am a freelancer so need more flexibility. Does procreate can edit photos like adobe photoshop? Or should i use laptop instead? Thank you 🙏
Hey im planning on buying an ipad, does it really matter if its the ipad pro or air, and also the 11’ or the 12,9’?
The pro is definitely worth it. If you are going to Sacrafice anything it should be size not performance. It's honeslty one of the greatest devices my wife uses her as if it's her laptop.
Been using Adobe softwares like more than ten years and earlier with MacBook pro and nowadays on 27” iMac and iPad. Wouldn’t go back to Windows based PC for any price. Also wouldn’t change the electric desk neighter, it’s awesome that you can lift it up and stand for awhile!
Thank you Lauri! :) I appreciate that very much, I just bought one of those 27" iMac's for my video editor Ian. Crazy how faster it renders. Going to check out your channel :)
@@adrianboysel There ain’t nothing much at my channel because haven’t had time to create, but now that I have more time, there will be coming videos soon.
That's awesome do you have a website?

BRO!!!! Your work is amazing, I have only seen one person in all my life that does compositing as well as you do. Phenomenal work bro, so impressed. I might throw you a project very soon, I have some ideas flowing through my mind. Would love to collaborate with you, so pumped you found my videos. Are you on Facebook?
Great stuff, so proud of you!
Thank you so much brother, not slowing down! 😁
I wonder how long it takes to become a designer from 0 to Self sustainable
ok.. so I'll start my first year as a visual communication "illustration" student.. so I'm confused should i buy a 2 in 1 laptop so i can either draw on it and everything else or should i buy ipad and a good laptop.. so confused 👁👄👁💔
p.s: ive always wanted to have an ipad with the apple pen.
especially that I'm done with drawing on note 10+ with the s pen
this is a very good question, just depends on what type of budget you have.
Thanks for the feedback!
Let me first pause this video and laugh i remembered how i lost my pen yet i had it in my pocket
Really appreciated your video. I learned alot
This brings joy to my heart, thank you.
"If you want to be a great graphic designer, **PRACTICE A LOT**"
Solid solid advice Aaron!!!
Indians just need a good laptop and phone other things we Indians don't necessarily need to buy, we use 'jugaad' Hindi word meaning work it out.
You didn’t mention brain, paper and pencil
Haha, that's definitely a NEED!!! Those are also not gadgets.
@@adrianboysel 😄 definitely not gadgets
@@adrianboysel I think Paper and pencil are gadgets, if they aren't then table and chairs aren't.
@@popeprich6777 they're "machine" but definitely not a gadget (Insert the scene in 3 idiots)
Got a Lenovo flex 15 with touch with a graphic pen display tablet so I can pinch, zoom rotate with my laptop and draw on my tablet. Amazon refurbished laptop hunts can be very productive if you're patient. BTW would you recommend the tab s7 by samsung?
I have the tab as well bit it's very limited, not recommended for doing design.
@@adrianboysel ty, how is it limited, too small? Maybe go for tab s7 plus?
Just not ideal for design and drawing. The programs and processing power is not there
Nice insight into technology gadgets to consider for the graphic design field.
Wow, incredible advice. Very grateful for your insights!!!!
Your intro is amazing
Wow bro, so are you.
👉👈 i'm starting college soon and I wanna be a graphic designer but I don't think I can afford that stuff😅 idk imma have to collect money or something.
I think I cant buy any device over 500 USD🥺🤐 would an apple ipad 8th gen 128 gb do? Or maybe something else you could probably recommend please help me out I have no idea what to do😩
Patience, mind reading powers to use on clients, patience .
Hmm.. I m still using pens and papers. Is that old school model? Haha BTW ur laptop skin is awesome guy
Thanks!!!
Great 👍
Great information bro
Thank you so much!
want to start learning graphic design but don't know where or when to begin especially that I can't afford buying or enroll an online courses. Sad.
You can watch videos like mine and Terry White. Lot's of free content, you can be a wild success if you truly believe in it and yourself. I came from nothing on the streets and i'm here today to help support you.
Dude your are basically saying you need pay to play to make it. If you have the passion and keep growing, you guys can make it with hard work.
Not what I'm basically saying, what I'm saying is better tool save time and time is worth way more than money.
@@adrianboysel Thank you for responding. You are absolutely right in saving time. Sad part is especially right now, people don't have thousands of dollars to spend. Great content, I would just recommend adding that art is about passion. Is is slower but not impossible.
I'm sure some younger people who watched that were discouraged right away.
Anywho, to each their own.
Thank you for the amazing feedback, I hear you and will take that into consideration in my future videos. One thing I do want to note is there is no shortage of people spending money right contrary to popular belief. Some people are cutting back but many are doubling down, I've never been busier in my life. It's all about mindset, that's what I want people to remember the most. Today will be the best day of my life, and tomorrow will be even better
Nice work. Keep it up
Thank you 🙏
thank bro im going to start my own
These gadgets all together makes a designer's creativity and workflow way better
Amen my friend! Thanks for saying hi
Hey can you please leave a link for the wacom tablet?
Indeed, all this comes with time when you grow up with business. Invest in money makers first like a good computer and phone then on other stuff.
That's right, great tools, books, and training has been the key to my success.

haha right, nothing is cheap with apple.
I lost all my data because my external hard drive crashed. Did you use a data recovery service? Any recommendations?
I cut my losses, there is no guarantee with those data loss companies and it's insanely expensive, usually in the $2000 range.

I'm all about collaboration.
