Thank you John, I really enjoyed that!. It’s funny you mentioned sarkandas reed wagglers, I had a post pop up on Facebook last week from a tackle company advertising it’s new range of Sarkandas reed wagglers. During the mid to late 1970’s BP (Before Poles) when we made all our own floats, there was a shortage of Peacock quills in the tackle shops. Instead Sarkandas reed was introduced as a better alternative. It was a horror to work with, no matter how you prepared the reed paint would not stick to it, and because the glues and varnish of the time wouldn’t stick to it the reed took on water and settled lower and lower in the water as the day went on. I was lucky that I had a cousin who worked for a local council that owned an ex stately home with a private zoo complete with many peacocks so I had an endless supply of quills. Happy Days🤓
brilliant video again Jon, a stunning looking venue as well, and i've said it before mate loved that you put more of that violin music in that makes it yours, very well explained on how to fish the waggler properly, 👏👍
Hi Jon, Really enjoyed watching the video of your session. Thanks for sharing your Waggler methods and tips… very useful, as I love fishing with Corn. Best regards, Wayne 😊👍
Great video Jon love catching them naturalized goldfish. They come to splashing the pole tip well. Great fine sport on the wag or pole. Slimy buggers here in Canada good fishing
Brilliant. I took a waggler rod on a Cornwall holiday in the summer so didn't need all the pole gear. Fishing corn on the waggler for a rudd a chuck took me back 30+ years to a kid and pre-pole days. Loved the simplicity of it.
Another great video Jon, interesting how you fish the waggler compared to how I would ref shorting, I’ve always fished a tapered style pattern but will try just droppers when using a heavier bait in the future.
I carry a bottle of black nail varnish with me to give a quick repair to any chips on my floats whilst in use, (smart arse) Great video again thanks Jon.
Another great video Jon. A pond I fish in South Yorkshire holds some proper goldfish up to 2.1/2 lbs. Apparently someone cleared their garden pond out a few years ago and they've grown on.
The wind will be off the leading edge of the rain cloud. We always watched out for it dinghy racing to give us a bit of extra speed or a lift toward the wind if sailing upwind.
It's great watching someone really enjoy something that they're passionate about. I think I may have to book a coaching session with u one day Jon. Keep up the great work 👍🏻
Hi Jon, a while ago you did a video on the bank explaining which pole tubes you normally discard which I thought I had saved but I can’t find it again. Are you able to post a link to it. Thanks and love all your videos.
Great session Jon. I have an old 13ft Normark Titan 2000 which I still use for waggler fishing. Good fun catching F1's Roach and crucians. I mainly use it this time of year to go after silvers. Good video.Cheers
I’ve still got the 12ft Titan Peter ,it’s won me loads of matches on Trent catching roach on waggler I would say it’s best rod I ever had actually I used to have two but sold one when I stopped matching ,not used it commercials scared of it breaking if I latch onto a lump ,but I’m going to try it just fish a little bit finer with a .10 or .07 hook length, tight lines
I find plumbing the depth and putting on split shot a difficult task , that's why I use the feeder rod . As I get older I find split shot real fiddley job .
Loaded wagglers are a good idea and cube-style shot should help. In summer you rarely need to plumb the depth on the wag, just set it 3ft and work from there. All the best
Another really nice video, Jon - thanks for sharing! Could the „carassios” might be Prussian Carp, Carassius gibelio? Interesting species, all of them are females, they breed with the „help” of other species if I'm not mistaken. Kind regards and tight lines!
Thanks Georg, I've done a bit of research in the past and I think gibel carp and carassio are different species but related. The gibel carp can grow surprisingly big! It all gets confusing as the latin name for crucian carp is carassio carassio, but they are not the carassio we know! 😂
Thankyou , I've learned something new today. I've never seen any of these Carassio's before. Are they mostly a southern UK species? I'm in Notts & I've caught all kinds of Brown Goldfish & Different species of Goldfish. loads of the hybrids crossed with carp. Also I have caught F1s of course. I've never seen one of these Carrasio's up here in the Midlands though or even heard of them.
They are only in a handful of venues I know. There are some in the fisho final venue, Hayfield in Yorkshire. Decoy has a few in one lake. There’s one in the West Midlands I cannot think of and then Stafford moor and all the lakes down whiteacres. Great species to stock.
French guest stars, wow 👍 I loved fishing this peg on Tuesday too 😊Great job Jon as usual 👌Any seagull during the practice mate? 😂😂😂See you next year 😉
Yes I have but you need to use a heavy enough waggler that doesn't need to be punched too hard on the cast, plus a firm expander. You could gelatine some up if struggling. I also find they stay on a size 16 medium gauge hook best, or even a 14.
What is the maximum casting distance for waggler fishing?Pls advice from your own long distance angling experience. P. S. I am gonna feeding with spomb, cobra or other carp fishing tackles)). For fish bite- binocular fishing glasses. 20 gramms cralusso rocket float and 17 ft rod with 10-35 grams test.
Another great video Jon. If only I could get my shot to slide on the line like that! Is it a specific type you are using or am I doing something wrong?
Could someone tell me if the carassio is a suitable alternative to stocking F1's, do they breed well on their own and do they have a good appetite for hard pellets.
@@JonArthur haven't been there for over a year but always done ok on pollawyn pleasure fishing with waggler or feeder on there some big perch in there. you may have different view as you fish it for matches. but if I was there for a week and they said you can only fish one lake for the week I would probably pick Jenny's up the far end away from tackle shop fishing up to the last island.

Nice video Jon, nice to see a different method used, we all have pole or feeder fever.
Looked great when day went on and sun came out.

Thanks Wayne 👍
Great video Jon I’m going down in may can’t wait hope you do more videos from there keep up the great work
Another great video from Titanic A.C.
Cheers 👍🍺🍌
Great video Jon. Yet again, something new and interesting. You're putting out some great content at the moment.
That was different JON,enjoyed that cheers.

Mega. Thanks Jon. One of my all time favourite methods the waggler. Thanks for sharing.
Also hope you don't mind if I use the term lathering in the corn here aswell lol great stuff look forward to sharing with buddy's thanks again.
Good luck in the festival Jon👍
An enviable technique! Here in Spain carassio abound in most scenarios ... we call them carpines. A greeting from Spain!
Another great video Jon, interesting how you fish the waggler compared to how I would ref shorting, I’ve always fished a tapered style pattern but will try just droppers when using a heavier bait in the future.
Good stuff. I tend to have no more than 10% of the floats capacity down the line as it attracts a lot of fish on the drop
Brilliant video Jon all the best in the festival. Perhaps have a waggler session when your free 👍
I carry a bottle of black nail varnish with me to give a quick repair to any chips on my floats whilst in use, (smart arse) Great video again thanks Jon.
A couple of coats of black nail varnish will sort out the areas of paint loss and it's waterproof. I get mine from Poundland.
Good tip 👍👍
Jon I always wet the line like that before sliding my rubber stops not seen anyone else do it ,great video Jon thanks, best wishes
Sounds like a nice festival format that, good luck jon hope you do well and a nice little tip with the bait band plummet thx
Another great video Jon. A pond I fish in South Yorkshire holds some proper goldfish up to 2.1/2 lbs. Apparently someone cleared their garden pond out a few years ago and they've grown on.
I’m eyeing up a venue with a few koi in it for a future session… 👍
Might give that a try this weekend, cheers mate btw the Rolf's film was brilliant

I’ll bring my dinghy next time 💨

You make it look easy
Great video thank you.
I like that float with the threaded bottom. What is it please?
Another great video Jon. 👍🏻
Could you explain when you would use different size wagglers, (3g, 4g, 5g etc ) is it to do with depth or distance??
Brilliant video Jon I do like white acres bet you'd still catch them little carp 1 a chuck on python behind you it's full of um

Waggled best method ever ,I’ve still got some I used on the Trent in the 1970s all made from peacock sarcanda was rubbish
I seriously need to head back to White Acres! (not been in about 15 years now)

Jon do you use expander ever with waggler if so how do you cast without it coming off ?

nice video and who can stop when it's atand you still have bait ??? Thanks for that
Great video Jon, out of interest what catapult elastic were you using?
Great vid yet again Jon. What sort of action are those Horizon 4m waggler rods, stiff like match rod or soft through action ? Thanks 👏👍
Hi Jon,
Could you tell me the best way to tell the difference between carp, f1’s and carassio?
Thanks
Hello John. You can tell me what size of jacket you are using and what height you are.
Thanks Jon, do Carrasio have a protruding mouth like Carp or is it more like a Chubbs mouth?
Nice video Jonny great session. Do you always use loaded Wagglers doing this
hi J. Do you always leave the plastic on your rod handles
Another great video Jon. If only I could get my shot to slide on the line like that! Is it a specific type you are using or am I doing something wrong?
I think he is using stotz, a barrel shaped weight, that tend to move easier on the line.?
Could someone tell me if the carassio is a suitable alternative to stocking F1's, do they breed well on their own and do they have a good appetite for hard pellets.
Not sure about anything else but they love hard pellets
jenny's and pollawyn are best two lakes on that site in my opinion
Pollawyn is nice but can be hard going these days.
@@JonArthur haven't been there for over a year but always done ok on pollawyn pleasure fishing with waggler or feeder on there some big perch in there. you may have different view as you fish it for matches. but if I was there for a week and they said you can only fish one lake for the week I would probably pick Jenny's up the far end away from tackle shop fishing up to the last island.
are you allowed keepnets their m8 ? also what time of the year is it m8 ?
That was late November I think. You have to be stopping on site to fish and don't think keep nets are allowed
