    John Arthur you truly are a bloody star! This latest video blogg whatever, is just great. You have the kind of pleasure sessions we all have proving that if you just think and change tactics even when the chips are down you still can get a result. The fireman proof in the pudding....
    For heaven sake don't upset the missus cause if you stop blogging your videos I'm sure the likes of us near mortal anglers will go into melt down.
    Looking forward to seeing you on the banks of the acres in the spring...k

    That's an expensive lure, I have one!! Around £12+. Well worth cleaning up! We visited there on holiday last summer and it was incredibly busy round there!! An eventful session but Qaulity fish Jon. Well done. My holiday around there together with yours and others videos has encouraged me to try match fishing again after not fishing one since the 70's so thanks. It certainly is a beautiful river, I saw a match at Evesham and other places too. It made a nice change as fishing down south is dominated by carp fishing.

    • @JonArthur
      @JonArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I saw them in the shops the other day and thought chiffon' heck they're not cheap! Not sure why anyone would choose a trout lure of all species though for the River Avon! Hardly matching the hatch! 😂

    Just had another two nights on theThames and a bloody Egyptian goose flew through the line and dragged the whole lot straight off the rests and into the river. I can assure you that stripping off and wading out to my never regions to retrieve my rod confirmed that the water was freezing. But on the plus side i did have a 6.14 chub on a prawn. More river stuff please mate before the season ends.

    Great video Jon have you ever tried saxon mill it's on the Warwick District angling association water they've got Myton road by the castle hopyards by the sewage works but they get busy with rowers and tourists but saxon mill is lovely and you get left alone and the pub isn't too bad either 👍

    • @JonArthur
      @JonArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Walked Saxon Mill several times and ate at the pub there plenty, but never fished that bit. I know it’s great for big roach on hemp and caster. And big pike! My club used to have the water opposite Myton/Tesco’s and fished there hundreds of times and where it joins the Leam. 👍

    This winter I've noted that areas with lots of human activity have been the best areas to fish. I've convinced myself that this is due to the huge numbers of cormorants about, which seem to be more bothered by the disturbance than the fish, and don't seem to like feeding in busy places?

    • @gee3883
      @gee3883 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ive always found places where people feed the ducks to be great particularly in the winter, hence his bait choice.

    • @JonArthur
      @JonArthur  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      The rural bits have all been hit hard by cormorants, especially as the canals and lakes have all been frozen. No wonder the roach have moved into the busier areas.
