Ryan, not everyone wants an EV or a plug in. Your gripe should be more of a 'you should know that...'. And from what I've read, the GV60 is not replacing the Gv70. Just complimenting it like...the Mustang Mach-E to the petrol Mustang. One more thing.... I like your reviews. :-)

Genesis is rivaling Mercedes, BMW, Audi. Lexus is barely even in the game anymore. It's just a sales channel now mostly. The GV70 and G80 Sport are my favorite Genesis models so far. I can see Genesis showing Infiniti the door in the next 18-24 months. There is no point for Nissan to go on with it.

Depends on what you want. Given that I work on my own cars, I love the Lexus and Toyota SUVs / Trucks. We are working on placing a factory order for a 2022 GX 460 Luxury with the off road package. Once it gets older, I'll replace the suspension for appropriate off roading. If I want a sporty car, I prefer actual sports sedans or proper sports car like a vette or viper.

    • @MercOne
      @MercOne 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

@@elvinlee7592 They aren't. Genesis has nothing to compare to a dinosaur like the GX. In the meat of the market Lexus is not even remotely competitive anymore, they're selling on sheer reliability and dealer service only at this point with most of their products. They don't have a single cutting edge vehicle in their showroom. There aren't "many" buyers looking to modify a GX for off serious off road work. That's a tiny niche at best.

A suggestion to do a follow up and or a comparison test with a Sport Advanced GV70 with metallic paint (19” wheels w/ scratch-able paint;) so we can see how it does on the tougher portions of your off road course. Everyone seems to miss addressing the elephant in the room .... service after the purchase ... I went to purchase one to only find out the Genesis GV80 can ONLY be serviced by a Genesis dealer wether in warranty or out of warranty. I was told if you break down and there is no dealer near where you are the GV80 MUST be towed to the nearest dealer (too few servicing dealers to make this a viable choice)... at your expense. After the warranty you still have to go a Genesis dealer as they are the only ones that have the diagnostic tools ... I was told point blank .... no Hyundai dealer can service the GV80. So if you buy one from a dealer don't even think about traveling any distance, unless your destination has a Genesis dealer, with it as you could get stuck with no way to get service.

    Hey Ryan & team,
The GV70 offers a wide variety of modes for the driver to enjoy.
As I approach 60 yrs old (and I'm a bit of a car guy) I totally love the luxury & comfort side of vehicles BUT also what to turn it up when I can. This GV70 3.5TT should really be about $20-$50K higher priced. It simply does everything really well and is 2nd to none is this segment when it comes to ride quality, comfortness, quietness all while surrounding the occupants with massive luxury features.
It is called the baby Bentayga for many reasons. It is so quiet & refined when you want it to be - When you're stuck in traffic or going no where fast. My wife asked me if it was an EV as it was so quiet. Those double paned windows really make a huge difference. Plus the massaging seat is nice!!
When you want to drive spiritedly switch it into Sports + mode and you easily hear the roar of the engine and the sweet exhaust notes while enjoying the rear wheel driving bias sporty experience.
In comparison, the RDX A Spec it an excellent top rated vehicle but that engine is super noisy vs the GV70 and its a much more stiffer ride. Plus I wasn't impressed with the 0-60 time of 6.4 seconds to the GV 70's of 5.7 (4.9 seconds in the V-6). And the RDX weighs 450 lbs less.
Its the luxury components/options, higher tech, standard features & options, the ride quality (can be extremely quiet & smooth AND aggressive and sweet exhaust notes) that makes this GV 70 THE clear winner in segment.
Overall the CLEAR winner for me the is the GV70 3.5TT in Sport trim level. I'll take it in that Gorgeous Mauna Red exterior colour with 2 tone interior combination please:-)
In Canada that full load price is $76,500 plus taxes. The F&PDI is included in that price. No discounts from that at all.
The electrified version is coming out in 2023 but in Canada the top trim level will be about $25K-$35K higher cost to the ICE version. Besides its NO Gas requirement the EV version is a littler quicker with 0-60 times 4.3 to 4.6 seconds. For me I'd put down my deposit yesterday if the EV version had a time in the 3.5 second range. It will have a 500 kms range on a full charge.
PS - Lots of dealer problems with Genesis in the States. Here in Vancouver No problems at all. I have 3 dealers within 40 minutes and the nearest is 15 mins away.
    Cheers all!!

My parents also like the Infinity QX-55. I think that this Genesis is a much better car in almost every respect. Am I right? The 2022 Lexus NX is way better than this

As a Lexus owner, I just can’t get behind the cheapness of the Hyundai. It’s already dated. $65k for a Hyundai is insanity.

This thing blows away the new NX in every measurable luxury metric. The only thing in NX favor is perceived reliability and dealer network.

As someone who just traded in a Lexus for this very vehicle, there is absolutely nothing cheap about it. Every surface, stalk, and button produce nothing but a luxurious feel. I thoroughly enjoyed my Lexus, but this car, thus far, has Lexus products beat. I would have strongly considered a sporty option from Lexus, but there was nothing to be found. Both brands are good. Two things can be true at the same time. However, Genesis is eating Lexus' lunch right now...

Some car washes have 100% hand wash..is that safe for this? I’ve seen this model with real massaging seats. Beautiful new Genesis product..I’d lease it
