Fully loaded for 9 day camping trip. From Louisiana to North Carolina and back. Approx. 2,300 miles (with mountain riding). Averaged 65.5 mpg. Ran 70 - 75 mph coming home on the interstate in a head wind or the mileage would have been better. Did 660 miles one day. This is an all-around GREAT bike!
I just bought a new old stock 2012. 6 feet tall and I'm flat footed on it. It's got a really low center of gravity, it's very easy to ride. The trunk in the front is handy. I keep my helmet and gloves in it and I've picked up things at the store and dropped them in it. I got an 8 pack of Bud tall boys on the way home today and it fit in there nicely... It's not an SS bike by any means, but it has grunt, it's torquey, it revs low, but you can ride it all day at 3000 rpm(redline is 7000). You can coast to 2000 before you need to downshift. Riding position is comfortable, it's agile, it's easy to ride. It makes a great starter bike or a commuter, or just a sensible yet fun bike.
Not many motorcycle salesman like this guy. You can tell he loves all motorcycles and it comes across his words. I share the same enthusiasm. I'm wasting my time working in restaurants
I was just thinking that it's to bad the bike has a 5 spd trans but Mic here says it's a 6 spd, that's good. Other things is the gas tank is a little to small it should hold a gallon more. Put exhaust & some mods on it to get the power up for better performance & this would be a good choice for commuting & day trips with your girl. Needs a rack too.
that bike's a lot taller than I thought it was from just seeing pics of it. First one I've seen in red too....looks better to me than the gray/silver ones.
The model is a NC700x but the engine is a 670cc. Honda is now selling a NC750X in Europe; however, the engine is 730cc-not sold in the US for 2014 and may not be in 2015
I have this bike. 0-60mph in 5.2 secs but top out is about 110-115mph. We actually call it a frunk (front trunk)-it has 21L of storage. I get approx. 70mpg doing 65-70mph on the interstate. LCOG. Not really light weight-430+lbs but it is low. Traded in my 2009 BMW G650gs for my 2013 NC700x, the Honda is a better deal!!!
55 to 60mpg...not My NC700X has done no worse than 62.4 mpg and averages 66 in the stop and go traffic where I live. I have gotten a best of 69.1. It does get the MPGs claimed!
Yeah, but you seldom have to fill up. I have one and found on weekend trips that front trunk and my backpack carry everything that I need, no gear gets stowed on back.
+denmikseb Well that makes sense... Hey great video though, you have a lot of excitement and you don't cuss. This bike was my first choice for quite a while... Thanks
Ok bike. But do you know what you're selling ? fyi it has a 6 speed transmission, and the motor size is 670cc, not 700 cc as honda says, that is misleading on honda's part. The mpg is not that great if they only get 50 to 60 mpg, a 2 gen sv650 will get that, and it has 72+hp, well at least mine would, so would my vulcan en500 ltd, more like 70+ mpg, they make about the same power too. A decent bike it would make, just takes some getting use to, with redline in the 6 K range. With a honda spec seat height of 32.7 inches, it's a little on the tall side for some, that can fixed too, let the air out of the tires. Would not recommending riding like that though.
Conservative riders report up to 70 mpg. That might be a Canadian gallon though. It's bigger...sorry my Yankee Doodler Friends but some things are bigger in Canada. My ST1300 routinely returns up to 50 mpg on an easy throttle. Just sayin'...
stevest1300 When I want to know the average fuel use of a bike, I use Fuelly.com for mpg, and it shows the country's they are from. I went off what he & other magazine reviewers have said in the past, that it was common to get around 50 to 60 mpg, I think he said 65 mpg ? witch is lower on average, for the most, than what Honda says it's rated @ 64 mpg EPA. Fuelly says the US bikes get as good as the rest of the world, if they are averaged out, and yes I know there is a Imperial gallon used by many, like Canada and it is larger than a US gallon, and usually cost more too. The other times I was talking about my 2 current bikes mpg, yes I know it's confusing. lol BTW 50 mpg is great on your ST1300. Yes your winter is much larger then mine, so I agree with you, that some things are bigger / larger / longer, mostly winter time. Ride safe when you can. lol yl
TOO MUCH PLASTIC! This bike is probably expensive to drop. If you go down at 25 mph, the whole speedometer- headlight assembly will shatter! I went down once on SV650, and once on Shadow VLX -- some cosmetic damage and the bikes were ridable. I think I'll buy a GLADIUS!!

last week, I picked up a 2013 RED HONDA NC700x with DCT / ABS. Its a nice bike. All around performer.

I like when he stuck his head in the storage.
Hi Dennis. Enjoyed your introduction. How tall are you please?
I was just thinking that it's to bad the bike has a 5 spd trans but Mic here says it's a 6 spd, that's good. Other things is the gas tank is a little to small it should hold a gallon more. Is it possible to export one of these to Australia? How much?
I heard echo when Dennis was yepping in the storage!

I just bought a barely used one my first tank was 73.4 mpg , I've never had a bike that got in the 60,s .
I'm looking for a lightly used Yamaha Super Tenere...Do you guys have any available?
How tall are you exactly?
They can be lowered a few inches.
Look at ctx700n better yet try one nice. Stock with forward controls.
5 speed ?
Shot of Harley at the end was so funny!

Isnt there a Ca. version?

Anybody know what the seat hight is on this bike?
Myself and three others get 70++ all the way up to 80+ mpg on regular 87.
How tall are you ,im 5' 9" and I wonder if I reach ?
Sorry it took so long for me to see your comment. Dennis is about 5'10.
***** where can I find this bike?
he doesn't look like 5'10, if he is then his legs are short... Maybe better start talking about inseam instead.
There is a S version of it that it's lower... check the nc700s
What are you wanting for this??
can u ship bike to india
That gas cap location sucks... If you want to use that space for gear, it means everything has to be taken off every time you fill it.
Yeah, but you seldom have to fill up. I have one and found on weekend trips that front trunk and my backpack carry everything that I need, no gear gets stowed on back.

Tweaking..??
adventure bike on and off (lightly path) riding for for multi surface rugged touring.
how tall are you?
Dennis is about 5'10.
*****
hmmm that would be a bit to much for me being 5'4 i guess. will see if i can find a lowering kit for it
thanks

actually it's 6-speed. 2:44. :)

Its a Honda with a 5 speed, not six (though there is an auto-transmision option)
Chris Melochick Yep that is true.

Six speed transmission!
GM WOW I LIKE THAT HONDA CTX 700 I LIKE I LIV N CLEVELAND OHIO BUCKEYE STATE USA I WISH I COULD AFFORD TO BUY ONE FOR MY OWN TRANSPORTATION NICE BIKE
Head in the storage = thumbs up from me !!
I own a 2012 black on black. Sell it quicker by throwing a sweet exhaust on it.
What es la traducción es mala, no es lo que escribo.
6 speed, 60 mpg, so the smaller gas tank is okay.
Cool very nice
ho ho ho 1:32 its pretty damn deep in here :-D
5 speed? Try 6.
God that bike is tall. With a 29 inch inseam that looks too tall for me.
I don't feel I could do a deal with you as you seem incapable of standing still
lol
Single disc brake in the front? Are you kidding me on a 2013 bike. Honda wake up and get with the times.
Six speed
Riding with NO gear!
Someone needed only 400 miles to figure out this bike sucks?
TOO MUCH PLASTIC! This bike is probably expensive to drop. If you go down at 25 mph, the whole speedometer- headlight assembly will shatter! I went down once on SV650, and once on Shadow VLX -- some cosmetic damage and the bikes were ridable.

I totalled mine. Bought it back from the ins. co. and fixed it. $3.600 in front end parts. No plastic was broken. Lucky...maybe.
that is a lame sales pitch, stop fidgeting dude.
What a tweaker
