    Glad to see Jess back on the bike! I have the same rack and love it! super convenient and very easy to load and unload the bikes..works perfect for both my road and mountain bikes..not too heavy and easy to store when not in use...

    Great demonstration! This is the rack I think I’ll go for. George, I love the color of your bike, and those wheels are enormous! Thanks for sharing, and for the kindness and good vibes you share with each other.

      Hello Teddy my bike shop is located in San Marcos. This video was taken in Big Bear. Let me know when you are ready to place an order and I’ll ship the rack to you.

    The genius of that rack is in its ease of use👌

      I am enthralled with the “tilt” feature. My old rack, you had to unload the bikes to open the rear hatch. Tilt is a game changer!

    Yeah that’s a nice rack... I mean bike rack, that is. I have an F150… so the bike rides in the bed.
    Is it cold up there? Jess has sleeves and legwarmers.. or just for sun protection maybe?
    Good videos (the past few uploads).
    Man o man,, that Cinelli is a good looking bike

      The arm and knee coverings are for sun protection. Jess is fair skinned and can burn but skin cancer is something we don’t want!

      I wear a neck gaiter to keep sun off the back of my neck. I should probably wear sleeves too.

      @@dsonyay am 200% obsessed with sunblock, spf & such. Ask George my pre-ride prep regimen entails no less than 10 full minutes of SPF application 😂. Melanoma is the #1 killer out here in San Diego I’m trying to keep ahead of it and continue riding outside😸

    I loved my Sherpa 2, but had to replace it after buying an ebike. It was on my car 24/7/365 for 3 years in North East weather and looked new when replaced. It was replaced with a Kuat NV Base 2.0. I still love Kuat.
    Hint...with the bikes loaded, hold the folding arm when releasing the lever to tilt the rack down and it won't fall on you.

      It was our first weekend with the rack. Jess has become more comfortable with the rack -- opening/closing/dropping for tailgate access.

    Great demonstration of a nicely designed bike rack, very similar to my old 90s Sport Worx two bike rack which I am still using. Do you know if the strap that holds the rear wheel were to break is the unit replaceable? Thanks. Beautiful bikes btw!

      Thanks for watching! Yes everything is replaceable. But that strap is a high quality rubber. It might only break from misuse or abuse. Please consider subscribing

    Do the arms have locks? Is this a 2” or 1.5” hitch? Does it have anti wobble technology?

    Does the hook arm scratch the head tube on the bike with disc brakes?
    I guess you can brace it against the brake calipers but on a bike without rim brakes I imagine it will lock in against the head tube. If the bike is carbon fiber my fear is constant use will scuff up the gelcoat frame. Notice anything like that?

    • @SeeYouUpTheRoad
      @SeeYouUpTheRoad  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Timothy - I think I mostly see rubber scuff marks on the fork. I wouldn’t call them scratches. The ratcheting device is quite strong if you want to clamp it down on the tire it should hold.

      Simple solution, I carry a few pieces of old inner tube with me and if I detect a rub point on a bike frame -or even the car- I simply put a piece of the inner tube between to act as a buffer.

    is the an option for a strap for the front wheel?

    • @SeeYouUpTheRoad
      @SeeYouUpTheRoad  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I guess on a different rack. The hook is what does the majority of the work to secure the bike to the rack. You want a strap instead?

    • @salsalawyer
      @salsalawyer 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SeeYouUpTheRoad both. Belts and suspenders lol. Saris superclamp has them but is a less sturdy rack.

      ha ha that’s very funny. You won’t need a strap Reggie. The hook is extremely secure. This is not some cheap rack.

      Good idea to add a velcro strap to the front wheel, front wheel has a tendency to rotate en route.
