When I first used these I thought they were single use but I just got a scaling today and my dentist gave me one to use. I didn't know you could put flouride on it too for extra tartar control. Such a great little tool I can't wait to have healthier gums!!

I have been suffering from acid reflux with stomach pain and chest pain for the past 9 months! I go through pain every day! I do not know what else to do! I've been taking so many antibiotics and nothing... I wasn't going to work anymore, until I came across Dr. Emovon on TH-cam. Thank you for doing everything that you do and helping me during a hard time. I'll definitely spread this to the whole world, I'm totally free from acid reflux..😷😷😷
I am SO GLAD you mentioned the Pikster handles. The main reason I hate flossing/alternatives is because I hate the idea of my hands getting wet from my own spit.

This was a great video!! Thank you! I suffer from halitosis and it’s definitely bacteria I wasn’t reaching between my teeth. I was only introduced to this because I have braces. I think its time to switch dentist.
Thank you so much for this helpful video, we have two questions : 1- why is it that we are told to use a clean part of a floss for each tooth pair but we use the same interdental brush for all the teeth, 2- we can get under the qum witha floss but not with the interdental brushes, so is it really not needed to go under the gum line after all and maybe even not good for the gums. Thank you
@Anthony A. If you have large gaps between your teeth, they are much better than floss. But If you can't fit the smallest piksters brush in then you need to revert to flossing.
Kinda confused here when you said to use the interdental brush AFTER brushing, and not before. Other dentists recommend to first clean interdental, and then brush. Which one is the best?
Some dentists recommend using interdental brushes before brushing so you can rinse away the debris and bacteria before brushing so you can then leave remineralising toothpaste on your teeth without having it rinsed off. This enables you to get max benefit from it.
I have been using an Reach flosser for a couple of years and have loved it and thus recommended it . Recently a filling fell out which was on the edge of my tooth so it left my tooth too jagged to floss . So I picked up some brushpicks and got the hang of using them and liked them but notice I can't get in-between the crowns of the teeth just the lower in-between parts . Since it's tight in that area is it really that important to get into that area ? I'll watch video a few more times so if you covered this topic please don't worry about responding .
Your video is so helpful Doc. I've tried the brushing technic or how to brush teeh but it hurts a bit on the gum... or I'm doing it the wrong way? Thanka
You mentioned the rubber interdental piks cause damage between the teeth. I had not heard that anywhere else. Only the disposable rubber ones like you showed at 3 minutes into the video fit in between my teeth that have implants. Even the very tight gap brush pik doesn’t fit. What do you recommend?
If you're teeth are very tight then these brushes aren't for you. You need to use regular string floss. If you use these in very tight spaces, there's a very good possibility that the wire that hold the brush together will dig in to your enamel and that is a very bad thing.
@@laulisk5628 There's 2 things negative things that can happen when you use these interdental brushes in between tight teeth: 1. The wire that holds the bristles together can dig into your enamel and wear it away. 2. Depending on how tight the brush is against the gums, it can irritate your gums, and may cause your gum to recede. It's best to discuss it with your dentist. He or she will let you know if you're a good candidate for these brushes, and if you are, they'll tell you which size or sizes to use.

Dr. Supa, Is it best to use floss and interdental brushes, both; since between the upper sides of the teeth are not touched; not reachable with interdental brushing, even if there are spaces at the base of the teeth by the gumline; and in the video you present on flossing, you show that decay can happen on the upper portions of the tooth also.
This answer to this question by a DDS is as follows if you are also wondering about the same question as I did here. th-cam.com/video/j9l5CaXvsG0/w-d-xo.html
Do I need to be put on antibiotics before using this since I do have artificial joints which is what my surgeon requires of me prior to dentist visits for the rest of my life or is this something In particular that I need to ask my surgeon about ? Maybe we should use mouthwash until the burn goes away which could be 3-5 minutes then so be it before brushing and flossing to kill bacteria for those that have artificial joints and heart related implants ?
Geez! Only if the dentist that visited us in secondary school told me about this then, i won't have decayed teeth when i reached my thirties despite diligent brushing since young. They only kept talking about flossing when they don't understand it isn't easy to do flossing on your own teeth if you can't open your mouth wide enough
I was wondering about that too. My dentist gave me the soft picks and I use that mostly. I do have these brushes too, but sometimes, the metal part of it rubs against my tooth when I push it in and out and I am afraid it is going to cause damage.
They are not a waste of money. These are meant to be used in areas where there are gaps between the teeth. They are not meant to be used in tight spaces. Tight spaces require regular string floss
How is that the fault of the product... It turned out to be a waste of money for YOU. Although you now know more about what works for your teeth, so there's some worth there in a sense. Also if you do have gaps, then try the smaller sizes.
The best dentist so far. It is lucky for those who get to be his patients.

Very thorough video. Thank you!
When I had a broken tooth removed my dentist never told me about these. Thank you. This makes it so much easier to keep that gape clean.
I wish I had known this 50 years ago!!!!!! Thanks man

I also have the same questions. Are the bristles of interdental brush antibacterial?
Thank you. What about bleeding gums after interdental brushing, it is normal?
This helped me so much!

I like to dip my pixle in generic antiseptic mouthwash... it helps to freshen breath.
When I used it for the first time, I started bleeding, but no pain. It wasn't too lose or tight though. Is this normal at first?
yes, as your gums aren't used to it

The interdental flossers are good for dental work done on the teeth.
My dentist recommended me to use interdental flossers because I get food stuck between my teeth and cause a tooth cavities from it.

3:04 How exactly do softpicks "do damage in between your teeth"?
I was wondering about that too. My dentist gave me the soft picks and I use that mostly. I do have these brushes too, but sometimes, the metal part of it rubs against my tooth when I push it in and out and I am afraid it is going to cause damage.
I would also like to know how the softpicks cause damage because I like using both the brushes and softpicks.
@@007MJFan i think if the metal part rubs against your teeth, that you need to get a smaller size brush, because that's not supposed to happen
Should always start with the absolute SMALLEST size and work up to a larger size for the gaps that can accomodate it.
Don’t know what size I need in piksters
The smaller ones I’d say
Where do I buy the variety pack in australia? Can’t find it
Excellent!! thank you
Could I use interdental brushes instead of floss?
I want to know too
For teeth in very close contact it may be too small a gap to use an interdental brush so dental floss may be required.
Will this make my teeth have spaces/gapes idk what to call them 😅?
Спасибо!!
Thank you 👍
are gaps during braces normal?
