That being said, the one crazy helpful thing I actually learned from you is the importance of using power slide while landing, and using it with the speedflip is so crucial for movement and quick recoveries even when you mess one up. Just saying though. Again, appreciate you!
One important part most people neglect is also the initial "starting angle correction" if you want to go in a straight line. For example if you speedflip to the left: initiate your 1st jump with a slight direction to the right. That way the momentum of the flip does not "shove" you off course.
I can consistently speed flip from the left diagonal kickoff, I learned it in about a day. But when I’m in the other kickoff spots, I do the classic drive no flip kickoff and probably confuses my opponents who think I have a good kickoff
So glad you acknowledged how people are speedflipping even in diamonds. Saw many creators and even pros saying people should only learn speedflips in champs or gc. The thing is, players get better all the time. Nowadays its more common to meet champs that can hit double taps and flip resets consistently, at least in my lobbies. I personally think this is because many mechanical players from lower ranks are starting to work on gamesense now.
I think it's mainly because there's a whole bunch of washed up rusty old farts who used to be really good but don't play much anymore also there are a lot of people who learn how to do complex things, and like to go for them because they're fun, but can't be consistent because they don't have the time to put in for training

Brooooooo! Point two makes slot of sense. I’m diamond and I’ve been trying to learn how to speed flip. I always thought I was supposed to cancel the flip straight down or to the opposite corner. Makes way much more sense now. 😊
The drag method works primarily when the method of flip cancel is a bit different than yours. This alternative way has you pull the joystick to the complete opposite side of the stick circle as opposed the adjacent quadrant, then drag back under to the initial joystick position of the flip as opposed to dragging the opposite way as stated in the video. This pretty much requires air roll, though it may just be how I tend to do it, but yeah, the drag method won't work unless done correctly.
Yeah I'm pretty sure this is how it is supposed to be. The drag is how you finish the roll using joystick air roll and not directional. Sort of important imo if you don't have both DAR inputs bound.
Also one thing that is not mentioned and can prevent people from doing it is your aerial sensitivity settings. It can be really difficult to hit the slightly forward diagonal flip when ur settings are to low, therefore , it won't allow you to be that precise with your joystick. At least that's what helped me improv my speedflips
For people who have air roll assigned to the bumpers or L1/R1 just hold one of your bumpers while holding the analog stick forward, then cancel by moving the stick down. Easy speed flip.
I was doing the speed flip differently but I can still do all these training packs. Basically hold air roll left or right from the beginnen and then do a normal front flip and cancel by holding the stick straight back. I always thought this was the normal way lol didn’t know people are doing it differently
The way I do it consistently is by using directional air roll while front flip canceling (obviously while using boost), so you don't have to worry about barrel rolling at all.

What would help me is a video where we talk about how to hold the controller in your hands, kinda like a golf swing tutorial. I have understood these steps and have practiced a lot, but I find it hard to get my thumbs going in these directions consistently and I'm wondering if a different way to hold my controller would help me. Topics like: do you have your hand more to the left of the thumbstick or behind it? Does the controller rest in your palm or on your fingers? Where are the pressure points on your hands? Do you hold it close to your body in your lap or far away? I feel like these are things most people don't consider, but just like a golf swing (or any physical motion), there are ways to position yourself physically to make success more statistically likely. Also many pros likely have different thoughts on this, so it could be cool to have a video where you ask pros to go over how they hold their controller. I know some players (Yanxnz and Beastmode maybe) have some divergent styles.
I feel like my right thumb boosting and double jumping was awkward at first, I turn my right hand slightly inward to line my thumb up so my first knuckle is boosting and the tip of my thumb is jumping

took me some weeks to work on my speedflips , but now i use it all the time, been canceling my airshots for some years now it really helps with power and accuracy as well. now i usually get's back faster than a "normal" guy roating back xD
the earlier you learn this, the faster you will rank up. a good kickoff in gold or plat carries games. also, quic tutorial for pc. this is for a left speed flip. diagonal flip with w+a then move your finger down to s while still holding a. at the same time, hold air roll left and boost.
Really helpful vid. I've been watching RL tutorial vids for a couple of years and this is one of the clearest - good job. However, I can tell you the one vid approach that would be SO USEFUL no-one does, is to take a video top down of real hands on the controller so the viewer can see the SPEED of some of the actions and co-ordination. I feel like on aerial control and speed flips this would be incredibly helpful. Whoever does that is going to clean up on views. The controller overlay views really don't give the same level of insight at all.

All the other Tutorials teach to flip-cancel on the exact oppositie side. So, when I flip to diagonally left, I should flip-cancel to the diagonally right (back, though). I guess that's also the reason for the left/right-correction that all those tutorials suggest for the end. I'll try your method later, and that could probably make me finally land a GOOD speed flip. I've tried this so many times over the years. To begin with when i try to flip cancel the front flip when i flip forward then pull back immediately and hold it my nose of my car starts to come back up as if to land on its wheels. When I try to cancel a diagonal flip and I've been so careful to try to do it just like you said when I speed up left and then down left my car starts to slip left and then I'd end up facing me. So idk. I suck anyways so maybe that's why.
Great, now I know what I was missing. When speed flipping, say left, I'll place my stick. Up and slightly left, and then throw it diagonally down to the right. This was the mistake that costs my speed. Got it.
i followed the tutorial to a T but i noticed one thing you should mention, when to actually start the speed flip, if you start it too late or early it won't work, its kinda obvious but im not good at picking up on those subtle things, it's worth mentioning it in future videos doesn't hurt

@@Fives179 Does not cancelling fast enough make your nose point towards the ground in a weird way? Not quite as severe as what he showed but I can't quite get my car to stay perpendicular to the ground the whole way through
Very helpful and the drag at the end makes a big difference for me to correct my car.. i was always ending up with my nose down or sideways for some reason and that seems to have made the difference. Thanks!
I find it easier to drag to joystick to the other side of the controller when not using an dedicated Air roll button. It make just que little tweak at the end to adjust landing.
A year late but you don't want to cancel to the direction you do the speedflip, you want to do it straight down. The angle isn't what makes you nosedive, it's just how fast you cancel. Whichever way you flip you always want as straight down as possible and you may have to move it slightly to one side to angle your car straight as you land, but that only effects the directions you drive after, not the actual flip itself. If anyone sees this I hope that helps!

Is speedflipping possible with KBM? Since you can´t flip only slightly diagonal like you showed it but only fully go to the left or right
It is possible but way harder to do go check some tutorials on yt
Also hold powerslide when landing so your momentum wont get lost
