My guy, this is the hard way to speed flip. I just taught my friend with the easy way and he learned in like 30 mins. 1. Bind your air roll to something you can hold while still jumping (LB, RB, or if you play claw). Mine are bound to X and B but I have paddles I use on the back. 2. Hold air roll, then flip cancel a front flip (like showm at the beginning). 3. Keep holding air roll until your car fully rotates. 4. Hold power slide so that you can land well. Thats literally it. It's just a front flip cancel. No need to worry about the 11 or 1 to the 5 or 7. No need to start holding air roll halfway through to adjust fully. Just front flip cancel while holding air roll. You can easily learn both directions too.
@kaydenberrett2873 just practice boosting through the whole thing to get it down. Then eventually you only want to boost until your about halfway through the flip. At that point you'll hit super sonic and boosting is pointless/wasteful since you're already full speed. If you watch pros you'll notice they still have approx 20 boost when the hit the ball because they didn't boost all the way through

Something that takes way less time and practice is being able to recognize when your opponent is speed flipping by seeing their nameplate doing ballet then just adjust your kickoff to go a little slower. Jump right before they hit and you’ll get the advantage 90% of the time.
If you look closely you can see that he is moving it to 5 and then quickly goes to 7. I have noticed that i do that too without having noticed earlier…I think you do that automatically after playing rl for much time in order to recover in a better way. You will notice that you do that too unintentionally if you learn how to speed flip.
1:50 should make it clear to people that you're angling up before you do the flip and cancel. otherwise, people will think they're not doing it right and wonder why their car just goes upside down.

FOR PEOPLE PLAYING ON PC; I quickly noticed going by this tutorial is almost impossible if you play on PC like me, so the way to flip forwards and to the side slightly is to use air roll, if thats confusing, Lsy5 has a good tutorial.
you just do it at almost the same time, literally like its one motion. you will start to adjust the timing unconsciously. i thought i was too slow as well but when i just started doing them at dang near the same time without really trying to time it i got way way WAY faster cancels. from over 120ms to like 40ms

Need some clarification. On the flip cancel instructions you say to flip forward and then pull back immediately, but it looks like you are also tilting back before the flip. Important or Not?
It helps a little bit. It's not a make-or-break type thing, but can give you a slightly better angle on the flip and can help avoid scraping the ground (and losing a little speed as a result). Regarding the loss of speed - make sure you tap the jump button long enough to really clear the ground. Dragging your nose can really mess things up. Good luck!

Does it really just not matter? It seems more consistent to me with 11 o'clock into 7 o'clock compared to 5.

I always have trouble linking the jump to flip to cancel quick enough. Not sure if that's a controller/settings issue or my hands just suck.

its also a settings issue. i think, but i am not 100% sure, that you need to adjust your deadzone.
