@@lileeper I disagree. Google's DeepMind has learned how to play Go (a game that's more than 2,500 years old), and it consistently beat the best Go player in the world. Not only that, but it beat him in a completely unconventional way that no one expected. They thought it was just making a stupid mistake until it ended up winning. It literally changed the meta on a game that has been around for thousands of years. Then it learned how to play Starcraft 2. Again, it did things that professional players would consider to be a mistake. Still, it could consistently win by just being incredibly fast and efficient. Same story with Elon Musk's OpenAI and Dota 2.
@@jnevercast Wasn't the main issue they were running into that they had to train it on replays played in real time, nonconcurrently? im grand champ, basically what you do is you flip diagonally to the left ( A + W ) and then you cancel it as quickly as possible by doing A + S. I recommend you use your index finger to press S because its faster than moving your middle* finger from the W key. good luck

try practicing it without boost first, it makes it wayyy easier, then once you have that down, put boost into the equation (allowed me to master it in 2 days and im a plat 3)
2 years after this vid, i found a slightly slower, but somewhat effective way to do it if you can't get the cancel in bronze, you just need to understand WHY it works for the best results
New title idea, "How to beat Jonsandman" or "How to beat Mertzy" But for real, can you test this out against Mertzy, he is good at the game, but is flamed for his kickoff, can you see if this works against him?
Musty thank you so much for this tutorial!!! This helped me a lot to get through plat and move to diamond. I love the vids and keep up the good work. You're my fav TH-camr in the whole world!!!! Can't wait for the next video
to be fair you can master a mechanic like this at bronze if it's all you focus on. Like the worst CS:GO players in the world can hit crazy flashes or smokes because if you practice them it's just a matter of mastering a behavior rather than being good at the game itself
@E Hip here we go... I highly doubt that you've been doing a speed kickoff, you've probably just been doing a forward diagonal considering almost nobody knew about this flip for a long time
rocket science made a vid on these flips a long time ago. I have been practicing these ever since (on and off). check out his vid bcs it explains it in much more detail Edit: nice to see someone like musty to show it off tho
@@luzid3272 He may have made a vid on diagonal flips, but did he make one explaining how to use them precisely to win kickoffs? Bc I watch multiple pros on YT and on stream and I've never heard of this before
I've been training myself to do the speed flip and all I've been doing is a 2 flip kick off on the diagonal kickoffs and it is so easy to win at my rank because of the standard kickoff I use. I'm in S3 and 60% of the time I get a 50 to an open net on kickoff.
lol the moment you realize you have pretty much done this kickoff flip already the whole time in a variation except holding the slide/air roll button to get a better landing and wondering why u won so many kick offs before. that kinda makes sense now :D
A little tip is that when you reset the shot you spawn a little bit in the air. This causes you to slow down. You should wait a couple seconds when you have reset the shot then you can try the flip. All you need to practice is flip canceling really fast, try this tip out and see if it works.
yeah you have to cancel the flip then let the stick return to the middle. So it's flip diagonal top left, cancel diagonal bottom right, then immediately release the stick to allow it to return to the middle
So, I learned to do mine with one small difference that seems to possibly make the speed flip even faster. I end up beating most people to the ball who are doing proper speedflips... maybe it's just my positioning but try holding air roll for the entire flip, and holding the stick straight forward on the diagonal flip before the cancel, as opposed to the usual 11 o'clock. It eliminates the need to air roll at the very end, and I rarely need to sweep the stick to correct my angle. It works on your training pack.

I wonder if cloud computing services like Amazon Web Services or Google Cloud could help you to train faster by spinning up multiple instances of the game concurrently.
@@lileeper openAi managed to beat a pro team in dota 2, neural networks function similar to the human brain, but with better learning and with enough training it develops a game sense and learns to react to a large variety of situations. an advanced rocket league ai would most likely be able to compete with high level players
So I was playing 1s and the guy was doing the fast kick off. The score was 0-14
Big oof
You got bodied

Half flips part 2: electric boogaloo
Could you explain how to do it, I've only ever played kbm and I didn't really understand him explaining it with a controller
what rank are you?
im grand champ, basically what you do is you flip diagonally to the left ( A + W ) and then you cancel it as quickly as possible by doing A + S. I recommend you use your index finger to press S because its faster than moving your middle* finger from the W key. good luck

so you have found that "one or two undiscovered mechanics"
well done musty!
All the mechanics in this were already known. It's just a new purpose. Similar to how there is the ceiling shuffle or the two wheel drift mechanics. Are they useful yet? This is taking known mechanics and making it VERY useful
Jesus loves you. God bless, share the gospel
at 400 hours and FINALLY have managed to get the hang of this, got three touches in the training pack. Spent like 3 hours straight, hands cramping, before i got it. feels good man.
All the dislikes are the people who got scored on by musty while he was using this kickoff.
oh my god i’ve been attempting that custom trading pack for almost 4 months and yet i still can’t do it.
Yeah bro, this shit is impossible lol. I hit it one time in the past couple of months.
Important tip: Wait half a second befor you go for the ball until your car is touching the ground. Otherwise the clock will start ticking when your car is still in the air, because it is spawning a little bit above ground. It took me hours until i figured this out!

Musty changed the ranked player-base so much that rocket league added gc 2, gc 3, and ssl
Lmao that one dude that hadn't played in a while literally thought he forgot how to play the game and make regular kickoffs 😂
I learned this in Champion 1. It's so useful. Hard to Learn, but so Rewarding!
try practicing it without boost first, it makes it wayyy easier, then once you have that down, put boost into the equation (allowed me to master it in 2 days and im a plat 3)
fatunicornsniper not a bad idea, though, it wont be a problem. I broke my boost button in the training pack xD
2 years after this vid, i found a slightly slower, but somewhat effective way to do it if you can't get the cancel in bronze, you just need to understand WHY it works for the best results
New title idea, "How to beat Jonsandman" or "How to beat Mertzy"
But for real, can you test this out against Mertzy, he is good at the game, but is flamed for his kickoff, can you see if this works against him?

to be fair you can master a mechanic like this at bronze if it's all you focus on. Like the worst CS:GO players in the world can hit crazy flashes or smokes because if you practice them it's just a matter of mastering a behavior rather than being good at the game itself

**Tries to do with 60 hours**
That analogy at the beginning was spot on and honestly pretty genius
Comments definitely gonna be filled of plat 3s saying they’ve been doing it for years
@E Hip here we go... I highly doubt that you've been doing a speed kickoff, you've probably just been doing a forward diagonal considering almost nobody knew about this flip for a long time
E Hip ok ehip
@E Hip which is exactly why you're a pro now because I don't see any of them doing this 3+ years ago, you must have won every tournament!
rocket science made a vid on these flips a long time ago. I have been practicing these ever since (on and off). check out his vid bcs it explains it in much more detail
Edit: nice to see someone like musty to show it off tho
@@luzid3272 He may have made a vid on diagonal flips, but did he make one explaining how to use them precisely to win kickoffs? Bc I watch multiple pros on YT and on stream and I've never heard of this before
I've been training myself to do the speed flip and all I've been doing is a 2 flip kick off on the diagonal kickoffs and it is so easy to win at my rank because of the standard kickoff I use. I'm in S3 and 60% of the time I get a 50 to an open net on kickoff.

After 2 days of practice, still cant hit. This almost feels like a near-impossible troll pack lol
A little tip is that when you reset the shot you spawn a little bit in the air. This causes you to slow down. You should wait a couple seconds when you have reset the shot then you can try the flip. All you need to practice is flip canceling really fast, try this tip out and see if it works.

musty: just ranked
also musty: does it for a vid
Every time I try to cancel the flip and land the wheels, the left stick going bottom right turns my car to the right
yeah you have to cancel the flip then let the stick return to the middle. So it's flip diagonal top left, cancel diagonal bottom right, then immediately release the stick to allow it to return to the middle
Team make sure you power slide and air roll as well
Imagine he wouldve kept the way to do this a secret, and just destroyed everybody with it
I wish I could just quit this game because it's embarrassing how shit I am at it.
Oh well time to smack the ball in a general direction for awhile
So, I learned to do mine with one small difference that seems to possibly make the speed flip even faster. I end up beating most people to the ball who are doing proper speedflips... maybe it's just my positioning but try holding air roll for the entire flip, and holding the stick straight forward on the diagonal flip before the cancel, as opposed to the usual 11 o'clock. It eliminates the need to air roll at the very end, and I rarely need to sweep the stick to correct my angle. It works on your training pack.
Not only did he invent the musty flick, he discovered the speed flip. Basically, musty invented rocket league
Except that Linkuru did it way before him and even had the famous shot #30 about it...
