The Hero Xtreme 200S launch in India was a surprise affair given that the focus of expectations until then was reserved for the new XPulse 200 and the XPulse 200T. This meant Hero MotoCorp inflated its 200cc line-up from one motorcycle, the Xtreme 200R to four. Despite the four motorcycles sharing engine specifications and some features, each has its own unique character and appeal. The XPulse 200 review reveals it’s a delightful off-road machine with quite a few urban perks as well, and while the Xtreme 200S top speed may not fulfil all your full-faired fantasies, its old-school superbike looks and friendly ergonomics will definitely appeal to those looking at enthusiastic everyday city riding. But the thing that makes them all affordable is that all of them have the same engine cutting production costs.... All 4 bikes share a lot of parts and it makes spare parts cheaper to manufacture and they are always available to the customer
@@toxic9525 I don't think anyone has a problem with the bikes sharing an engine. The problem is the engine itself. It needed to get either the power or the mileage right. Now it just hangs in the middle. It's not bad, but they have ended up being the most OK bikes in India, inspite of such good designs.

I like xpulse 200t as a very good commuter segment bike with long touring capacity.
And in second xtreme 200s the most.
FI system + Liquid cooled engine in Xtreme 200s will complete the bike.

As expected hero has come in the competition and hugely dissapointed bike enthusiasts. A bigger 250 or 300cc liquid cooled engine atleast on the xpulse would have ripped the market.hero has once again proved that it is leader of only the 100cc commuter bikes which have borrowed engines from honda.Hero is far behind the tvs and bajaj in terms of state of the art engines.shame

Xpulse 200 with more power and a 6th gear would be a Himalayan killer. I'd be willing to pay 1.3Lacs ex showroom. One Question plz: will the xpulse 200 still be capable with luggage loaded on for touring. I'm a beginner and speeds of 80kmph are more than sufficient for me.
I have heard that a specific more powerful off-road tourer will be launched by hero later this year.. even then xpulse is most value for money
My friend did his khardung la trip on stock impulse except the tyres.. and i think this will do just fine

In Short If you love young looks then go for Xtreme 200R, if you like old vintage looks then Go for Xplus 200T.
If you wants hard off roading machine then go for Xplus 200.
Xtreme 200R... The engine is common. And, I dont feel paying 7k more just for the fairing and led headlamp. So, my choice would be xtreme 200R.

I'll give you a better idea..take the 4 bikes out for a road trip that includes both highway and off-road. Keep switching bikes and then discuss how each one of you feel!

Well..I'm buying xpulse 200
X Pulse 200 FI is the only bike that's better than the whole lot and makes a lot of sense. This is the perfect bike for our roads given the bad riding conditions which will make waves in the urban commuter segment as well as off roading...
I agree with your verdict - perfect advice for the masses.
Only minus about the X Pulse 200 FI (though not actually a minus ) is the saddle height which is more suitable for taller riders.

Why isn't 200T the best bike for professional men to go daily commuting? It has got that retro-decent look, excellent suspension for our bad Indian roads, navigation facility, powerful than 150cc engines, good mileage and comparitively lighter than other 200cc bikes.
Xpulse 200 suits for boys looking for some fun, but i believe xpulse 200T is for professional men for serious daily commute.
Currently owning it. I am sure this bike got a tough body building. It is heavy. It is great on highways, street. Loving my 200T.

There are 2 two red coloured xtreme 200r in my colony. They look beautiful except that front face.
Also that xtreme decal is just amazing.

My choice would be Xpulse 200T, if it had little more power of top speed 130km/h. If a 200cc bike can't go upto 130km/h what's the use??? Meanwhile other bikes with 160cc are reaching upto 120km/h easily. Hero should consider this. With Oil cool and 6 speed gear box. This would be best selling bike like splendor,shine, pulsar etc...

Why there is such a negativity about the engine ....inspite of that why hero is coming with 4 variants tourer / commuter /offroader /sports commuter ..... i was thinking of Himalayan to purchase which was the answer for my riding style until I came know about 200 xpluse this making me to think because of these points
1. Comapred with himalyan though it is 400cc bike it also comfortable on 80 -90KMPH & not comfortable on 3digits but feedbacks of that Was so positive in the begining regarding its capabilities by all reviews which were far from relaity or particality of the bike ....but if hero has taken 8 long years after brave attempt of introducing an entry level offroader impluse 150 .... with xpulse 200 now....
If acheving 80 -90KMPH all day long speeds by this bike is a problem then we need to think .... Because no one on offroad will go in 100kmph (beginner)or on road 100 KMPH all day long
2. Price of both compared ( I can get HXP 200 max by 1.15 -2.80himlayan oh... major differences)
3. Reliability on engine ( no hate on himlayan but got so much negative in this aspect / 5 years of warranty by hero and no mid engine failures )
4. Serviceing cost /network ( both are same on the graph different of service cost bzc cc )
5. Modern touches (modern touches like fully digital console /bluetooth /led head lamp which can upgrade if not upto the mark @less cost )
6. Dual performance ( intra /inter city commute)
7. Fuel efficiency ( I know this isn't a valid point while considering RE's )
8. Handling : both are ok in their designs I belive
9.Riding posture / comfort : RE hats off /HXP have to try
10. Indian bike : both are from Indian manufacture

Xtreme 200S definitely has more acceleration as it has far more engine output.
In case of top speed I don't know though...the new gixxer is a step down in power output from old gixxer.
The official figure of Xtreme 200S is 112 kmph but you can push it close to 120 kmph if you sit aerodynamically.

When we needed around 200 cc bike hero gave us mere 150cc engine now we need atleast around 250cc Or power figure near 20bhp but they give us the performance of 150 cc bike instead I think hero should improve their engine with dohc set up for bsvi variant to atleast churn out few more bhp and torque.. We deserve more power hero... Plz give us more power..

Hero should have given a oil cooler for 200S...Its looks super cool but lack oil cooling doesn't allow it take for long rides...In 2019 every bike should come with oil cooling atleast.

There should also have been fuel injected and/or oil/liquid cooled variants. Also the performance figures are not appealing. This is not at all a proper upgrade. 150cc to 200cc is not an upgrade hero should've done. Displacement must be minimum of 250cc.
200T is the better of the three only of it had FI model
I like xpulse 200 so much, but hero has to increase mileage or speed to it's bikes to increase sales

Am I the only one one who thinks it better to skip this whole hero range of bikes, there are very good bikes like Gixxer, Apache 160 4v, ns 160 right below this range and some great powerful ones right above like 2004v, NS and RS 200, fz 25, Duke 200.
This hero range is not doing much to bridge the gap properly.
That engine, needs more power. This is the main thing bugging all like me who were eagerly looking at hero for their 200' to come up.

Koi bhi dhang ki bike nahi hai .... add bulk, some weight like karizma zmr 2009 model ... its was best looking bike offered by hero ...the tail lamps were just eye catching !!! Its bulk and size and weight were enough to grab many eyeballs ....
