Hero XPulse 200T First Ride Review | What’s different with the T? | ZigWheels.com

  • Hero is pitching the XPulse 200T as a road-biased tourer based on their existing 200cc platform. It is one of the four bikes currently available sporting the 200cc engine and it is derived from the hardcore off-roader the XPulse 200. The main focus of this bike is to clock endless number of miles without ever tackling the dirty stuff.
Hero has got the pricing bang on with the 200T, which retails for Rs 94,000, ex-showroom Delhi. At that price, it is a mere Rs 3,000 more than the Xtreme 200R with which it shares its engine and a few other parts.
It sports the same chassis as the XPulse 200 and while it might seem that the suspension components are shared too, it is not the case. The forward-offset axle forks look similar to the XPulse 200 but they run different internals with a dedicated tuning. The suspension travel in fact is the same as the Xtreme 200R. You get disc brakes at both ends with single-channel ABS as standard.

Reviewers these days post reviews with the preconception that India has suddenly become one of the first world countries...on highways here in India you cannot safely hold 100kmph at a stretch, something will come in the way, so a 70-80kmph cruising capability is not a deal breaker at all...then there is the price factor...how many can actually afford the so-called perfect highway cruisers? How many have rich dads to buy them the fancy man-toys? Hardly few...and styling you say? This bike has an old world simplistic charm which outshines the snazzy contemporary designs easily...so your review is imperfect...ask the common man for his views

I rode a 410 km with this bike last week. Took just 8 hours. Wow an amazing drive. Highly comfortable seating position and riding was so smooth. I maintained 80kmh speed, No vibrations. I stopped for 10 minutes for each 100 km, No engine heavy heating. A superb vehicle for long ride. Highly satisfied and recommended. 💖

Hi. I've got a few questions:
Can a tube be placed inside the tires?
What about stability? Do the feet touch the ground properly or tiptoe?
      And how is the milage?
What does the average maintenance cost?

    1) Reliable and time tested engine (Its based on Honda's 150 CC engine. Its an bored out version)
    2) Around 14.5 Nm of torque sets in early as 2400 RPM. In other 160's CC bike, this torque comes in only above 6000 RPM..So this torque is usable torque in city rides..Would leave other 160's way behind during zero to 60 Kmph..
    3) Low service costs and also low maintenance..
    3) Lot better in comfort
    4) Practicality and Hero's reliability..
    5) After 3rd or 4th service, this can ensure continuity of service as its an simple engine to maintain..In any long drive and if in no authorized hero service land, you can expect for any road side mechanic's to fix issues for you.
    6) As its carborated, no problems with FI failures or FI pump failures..Carburetors are literally failure free when compared to FI. FI pump life depends on purity of the fuel.
    7) Less complex engine to maintain...Image what would be the state if external air or liquid cooler fails...bike does not move an inch (because cooling system siege to work as liquid or oil coolant would not circulate and thus engine head can go for a toss in such scenario's )...no hassle in this regard with this bike.
Pls note - I am not hero's fan boy or neither do i hate /offend any other brands...
Just my thoughts on some of the advantages this bike has to offer.. Meanwhile its individual's selections..

I disagree with most of the negative remarks about the bike i.e. suspension , engine stress , vibrations , looks etc. It's a sheer joy to ride the bike. A sheer pleasure. Got the bike just 3 days ago. Rode it on offroads yesterday , the way it handled speed breakers , potholes rough roads , brought smile on my face. One thing that I feel lacking though , is the oil cooling instead of air cooling.

One more thing worth sharing. Yesterday evening while cruising at 80kmph suddenly spotted a cattle right in front at about 10 meters. Since it was a Buffalo the LED lamps didn't help much spotting it in time. But with brilliant grip of the tires and duel discs coupled with abs in front, I managed EASILY to break and avoid the collision. It's superb bike. SUPERB bike. Go for it.

    7. Vibration: beyond 115 kmph slightly on foot pegs
8 . Speed: solid mid range ....&.... satisfying top range too .... I dont know why in every review they are negative....... I drove this machine upto 120 comfortably.
    Cons

    Tank : t .... when u say .... need bigger belly
Fuel distribution: carb variant.... only..... why ?

    Speedo : worst bluetooth connectivity

What hero lacks is a good engine that could stack up figures of around 120kph...! I think they are on the right direction though given the excellent pricing... Also catering to the needs of different buyers is a good enough effort that needs to be mentioned... Good work Hero!! Nice review team ZIGWHEELS.

    vogas review..
if its launched in bs6 it will be priced max 1.10lacs ex shrwrm..
now in this price you will get a 200 cc motor which really make some better power than the hornet or palsar or fz155 cc.
you will get a 100sec front and 130 sec back radial tyre which is segment best. even ns 200 doesnt have radial and apache doesnt have 100 sec front and palsar 220 doesnt ahve both. so control will be best sure.
in bs6 hero launching oil cooler with 200cc engines with programme fi which has also a bike fall cut of sensor. so there will be a great heat management and sequre ride.
in this price segment you will get the best instrument cluster than ns 200 or palsar series(which is 20k expensive). you will get a additional charge point and trust me i myself do touring on bike it really helps to charge the gopro bataries.
talking about maintainace it doesnt need any maintainace its can be reapaied any where in india and so cheap price of s[pares.. so many service center in the country
i would like to say that in this price segment it will give the best ride quality in terms of ccomfort than the ns or rs or apache..i have ride it.
DISADVANTAGE: i have seen people says the engine is underpowered.. no its not.. even apache now produce 16nm torq. the only thing is not well engineered in this bike is its sproketing. if company fit a 14t front sproket instead of 13 it will be the best touring bikes in its segment. in stock u can cruise 85 to 90. but if u can to do some small mod in sproket you can cruise easily at 100kmph all day ;long.
    thank you

The Xpulse 200T is a very good 200cc offering in the market. Its high GC and long travel suspension (shared with the off-road biased Xpulse 200) make it ideally suited to the typically bad, pothole-filled roads of India.

Functionality wise okay, I see alot of people praising it but let's face it, looks wise it's only meh, as plain and simple as it can get. Nothing wrong with such a design, but not for everyone. Especially not for the younger generation. They call it a touring bike, but people who are into serious touring will obviously look for other options with more power, range & something which is better equipped.
What i don't understand is, which segment of the public are they targeting with this? with the youngsters & serious riders(tourers) out of the equation, they are left with a very small portion of the public which may include people who genuinely like retro & minimalistic looks and daily office going middle aged men who don't care about looks anymore and just want to do point A to point B...
