    I wondered for the past 25 years why nobody made something exactly like this.

      My person! Check out the new Böker Plus Micro USB OTF! Emphasis on Micro! It is a fully functioning, but very small (!), automatic OTF that will be legal to own and probably even carry in Germany! Finally I will get to taste it again! I preordered it already of course.

    Because the blade is double edged you don’t need the clip to be reversible I’d just use the other edge for normal cutting than you would. The knife is already ambidextrous without needing a reversible clip.

    This is a great review and a great knife. I recently received mine and for the size it's a great blade, I have larger hands and for me the best fitting knives are 7.5-8.2 inches but for a utility knife this was perfect. I had alot more blade play than expected and would have alot of rattle but I just tighten down the screws all around and now it has very minimal blade play. Would recommend this knife to anyone interested.

    I felt the same way about the KERSHAW Kapsule. I would love a medium and a larger model, maybe even a wharncliffe or other blade shapes and color ways. Might order the Böker and purposely blunt the top edge for legality where I live

    A lot of things done right in this design. In my opinion a design similar to this would be the best design to mass produce for an army. Like I said before, even if the lock fail it goes inside instead of closing on your fingers so it's very safe for the user but also it's much harder to break than an automatic OTF due to the fact that it's very simple. There is very few things that can break. Where I live we have a lot of cowboys and small towns and all over the country men use slipjoints working at hardware stores. I think that something like this Boker Slike would be much better for their safety. Also I train Filipino Martial Arts more than 10 years now and I don't think that speed of deployment is so important as people think. If there is no time to deploy you should kick and punch. The knife should only come out of the pocket if you have enough time to make a controlled opening.

    Thanks for posting! Excellent review. Its an elegant design, really grabs you. I too ordered this as soon as I saw it for sale… I was kinda like “Wow, am I finally seeing this design? AND at a budget price?” I could easily see this as a very pricey semi-custom job, so I was pleased to see it at around $60. I’d like to see a Boker Matic style done with good QC and more premium materials but I have to wonder if there may have been some legal issues with it.

  • @HollywoodTacticool
    @HollywoodTacticool 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    not that it matters but it's pronounced with two syllables, "zlick-uh" and is cognate with English "slick" describing it's action. How old is that boker? is it still around. i'd love to get that reverse otf! also check out the camillus manual otf

    Does a 2” blade make the knife California legal?

    • @CoyoteEDC

      That limit only applies to automatic knives. On a knife that manually opens like this one, it does not matter the blade length.

  • @ecumenicalheretic

    Here where I live one can carry anything on rural areas, but double edged blades or any blade longer than 10cm are restricted on urban and residential areas. None of that no autos, no gravity, not longer than a micropenis bs tho

  • @Leftyotism
    @Leftyotism 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Well, you can't legally a locking one-hand-opening knife without any special exception in Germany anyways, so why not give it a dagger blade like so many other OTF's characteristically have 😅
    I always liked double edged blades so I can have one "good" edge which I hold very sharp, and one "bad edge" which is usually always used, but when it needs sharpening, and I dont't got time to sharpen, I can just use the "good side". Other people think ima stabber tho lol 😂
