The all-new Jaguar XF leaves behind the billowy styling cues of the S-Type for a sleeker, sexier design that matches its sporty driving dynamics. Dont let this car fool you the XF appears refined and luxurious, from its Bond-grain leather to its blue-halo mood lighting. Lying beneath its sophisticated façade, however, is a primal need for fast, fun driving. This car wants to be driven on windy canyon roads and youll have a hard time denying the urge to. I test drove all of the above and bought the jag---it was a no brainer--so amazing drive and feel
I had one of these and love that car. I now have a 2016 model
Hello Hilton i have a question is the 2010 jaguar xf reliable ???
@@endritthaqi8828 Hey Endrit - it really all depends what mileage it has on the clock now and whether the previous owner took really good care of it. Some people suck everything out of a car and then dump it - not the car's fault, it's the previous owner's fault, you then buy it and call it trash because it breaks often due to not having been maintained. What you want is one with low mileage, 100% full service history with a Jaguar dealer (don't buy one if it was serviced by the owner or independent - they both cut corners to save money and shows the previous owner was cheap). Mine was owned by an old man who took meticulous care of it at a Jaguar dealer. Sure, a couple of things went wrong with it while it was in my hands, but I had them all taken care of at the Jaguar dealer. The water pumps tend to fail, so check if it's had a replacement done yet. Also, check the front lower control arms as the bushes leak oil out and they will start to make a noise - you can see if they are clean or if they are greasy around the bushings. Driver's window winder tends to fail after 8 years or so and some coolant hoses might need replacing. Other than that, I had no issues. It was the most reliable car I've had compared to all my other cars. I had no electrical gremlins like some people say Jaguars tend to give. Jaguar was owned by Ford when that car was designed, they didn't skimp on design or quality. It's a good car if taken care of. Neglect it and it will neglect you, just like any other car out there. Brakes are expensive to change, so make sure it has good discs as they cost an arm and a leg. You can replace them with non-OEM one's though, that wouldn't cause an issue. But don't buy non-OEM parts for the engine or drivetrain. The tranny needs a service every 100,000 miles which means new oil, new oil pan. It's a ZF 6HP26 transmission also used in Audi A6 and BMW 5 series and the oil pan is plastic with a built-in filter. It's not cheap, so ensure this service has been done before buying.
Thank you very much now i know what to look out for.
Emm i forgot to tell you so i live in Germany and the car is from 2010 it has 155000 on the clock i dont know if it is worth it man.
doesn't the back look like a Maserati ?
lol I like how she dressed up to drive the Jag.... It really is a classy car.
This car is superbly beautiful.
Beautiful!!!
Looks like an aston martin from the back!
Its direct competitor is the Acura RL.
Slightly downscale alternatives to the Jaguar XF include the Audi A6, Lexus GS350, and BMW 528i.
A slightly alternative to the Jaguar XF include the Mercedes-Benz E350.
THIS IS SOOO COOOL
@sidekick2025 was designed by the same team and at that time Ford owned both Jaguar and Aston Martin so it was okay back then
you can see the difference in the new XJ
She sure bashed the S Type. I had an 03 drove it 154k trouble free well loved miles. It had a 4.2 V8 drove like a luxury SPORTS car should. Put it in sport mode and ran her up to 135 mph. An excellent car. I sold that car to buy my 2012 XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio edition. Again another trouble free car with the exception of I did have to replace the battery at 6 years old. My 80 year old Mother drove it up to 116 mph. Drove like you were riding on glass. And I hadn't even put it in Dynamic Mode. Put it in Sport mode turn off the Dynamic Stability Control use the paddle shifters and your going to know your driving a beast if a sports car. The XF is 2 cars in one, a luxury cruiser or a great sports car that grip's the road and takes corners you won't believe. I drove through the mountains in Colorado. You want to talk about fun. Wow.
Nothing beats a Jaaaaaaag
these are my opinions, not just ones i have read or heard. i also happen to dislike the look of the veyron and weismann for the same reason. yes, vents are gimmicks, but they help the XF design work, they add presence and agression. as i recall, the s-type that the majority of people say looked best, the R, had many extra vents and other extra styling tweaks that you would class as gimmicks. the XF is a strong design, the s-type never did anything different, so jag didn't lose their older fans
If you want a Jag, just buy a used one. You can get a fully loaded XJ for $16-22 with 20k that's a couple years old with not so much as a ding on it and man... that is a nice car.
i do agree that they need mroe sporty models, but the s-type was not the trend setter, it simply evolved from previous jags that never changed their design - i also agree they may be copying from lexus and other brands, but what many european reviews have been urging jag to do was revolutionise their models, not simply evolve them. now they have they have caused a split of opinions, but now the car appeals to more people, and has a first class interior and handling
I like how they got Jessica Rabbit to demo the car
who is she?
Jessica Rabbit
Was mama bear's bed the one that was just right, or was it too soft...? :-)
its a james bond kinda car..nice!
why did you sell it?
I came here for 1.52, now I feel good
the power of the JAGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!! lol
Not exactly. You are forgetting where the basic design of the S-Type came from, and that look was far from critisised.
I recentley drove the XF and a new XJ8 back to back, and for me, the aluminium body XJ is the better car. All it needed was the XF's paddle shifters to be just about perfect.
this is nice... but I still like the S type better. it's just pure Jag
jwatwater vary true
Competitors include the Audi A6, BMW 5 Series, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Infiniti M, Acura RL, Cadillac STS, and Lexus GS.
@LukeNAESA10 That's what I was referring to. Sorry if I wasn't clear. I imagine myself going to a party with a new car with everybody thinking I bought it, yet if I leased it, it's just borrowing it sort to speak and just trying to falsely show off..
I vote for Jag. Seems more cool... Did I just killed my argument using that word?
nice
But... I though its was baby bears bed that was just right :(, my childhoods a lie? Lml anyway, gotta love the xf
16-way power seat?? i didnt know one's ass could contort with such a range.
It's fitting that's raining when testing a British car, isn't it?
i have this car its fast but bad on gas... no problem yet
Andre Varn how long have you had it and how many miles. I was considering getting a 09 or 10 due to how cheap they now are but don't want to spend a fortune on repairs. thanks
Any V8 taking premium ⛽️ is bad on gas.
i want one!! too bad i can only afford like a used volvo hahah
you may feel that the XF isn't classy, but in comparison to the pig-ugly s-type, it is understated, and understated is cool. that is something the s-type never pulled off. and you cannot disagree that it has helped sales vastly. the xf is in demand, the s-type never was. and back to the design, the xf has road presence, the s-type with its comedy grill never did. the R was a little better, but is still no where close to the xf
the thing is,u'd rather b last n follow then be first n lead. The S-type was a trend setter, all those minis,fiat500's mustangs, camaros, challengers, mclaren slr's all those retro styling was started by the Stype. When it came out topgear said it would sell like viagra,it was featured in songs, videos, movies,go to any city in the world n watch wht jag u c the most n it wd b the stype.even the germans copied some styling in the weismann, but the s didnt hav the interior, tech to match.
i like eveything but the grill.
i cant wait until the shifter can no longer pop up because its broken.
@LukeNAESA10 Maybe not alot of people may not buy new cars. But if you''re gonna buy a luxury vehicle to show off to your family and friends, I might as well "earn" my luxury and buy it instead of lease.
oh shit nevermind I got the XF confused with the XK
nevermind people
@youmils03 to which in omy opinion the lexus gs beats this.
those chrome inserts in the lower bumper make it look like its wearing braces. the front light the rear lights r not working at all, they look like they dont belong on the car, the hood has got too many defined lines, makes the styling confusing. The interior is kool, but i hate the popping shifter n vents. If u consider jaguars r well known 4 bad failing electronics, goodluck driving whn ur shifter wont popup.
I'd rather have a Cadillac XLR.
comedy grill,it wd b an interesting discussion if u had some taste or opinion of ur own rather then whtever u heard on tv shows,Anyways yea the stype has a comedy grill thts why u find the same design on the veyron n weismann some of the most exotic cars, the xf grill is so exclusive n hot u can find it on any fan heater,& have it made in mesh frm any customizer.lolz. a jag is suppose to b pure, possing gear n vents, sorry thts a gimmick.u wdnt know.
that is because all americans hold on to the "bowler hat" image of britain, thats why you go to london and would prefer to take pictures of red phone boxes to something truley modern, and besides, jaguar has been in a deep financial crisis for a while, and since they moderned their cars up, they are making less of a loss, and ok the basic and original design was not critisised, 50 odd years ago, and jaguar admit that that design was outdated as soon as the s-type was launched
the car looks like a buick to me but still good interior an fetures but out side looks shity couldve been better
Jagwah
its jagUar not jagwar
by used volvo, i meant like an 2002 s60 hahaa
vv mat hahahahahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahahhahahahahahaha u should be a comedian jajajajajajajajajajjajajajajajajajajajjajajajjaja
I like the XF and all, it's very sexy but it's so... boring compared to the S type. The S type looked expensive and classy, the XF just kind of... blends in, you know?
@BlastDance somebody cant afford a jag....
its very hard to buy this car when its competition are the Audi, BMW 5 series, Lexus GS, and E class. Why would I pay for this over the others? its good, but not better than the others
i have two things to ask aswell, why do british ppl always end a sentence with a question? they always this is so ..isnt it? i think this..wht do u reckon? whenever anyone from the UK visits me,i get sick of all the questions in every line n sentence.
& i wd gladly take a S type R over the XF,its disticntly european, the XF loks like a mix of toyota n hyundai n it badly needs foglights in the lower bumper where those silly chrome inserts r.
sexehh!!!
what "traditional look"? the s type was a disgrace to the jaguar name...what kind of criritiscm is that? they just couldnt find any points of this amazing car.
ktonlai same style for more than 50 years they killed the good style
Ive read how this car is a nightmare. Anyone can tell me anything?
Total bullshit. Not sure where you heard that. I had a 2009 4.2 and it was definitely reliable.
Freddy Medina it is a nightmere it killed the old jaguar style
I have the XF Supercharged V8 Portfolio edition. It's been a fantastic car. So was my S Type that I sold to buy my XF. Keep in mind that the 2012 was the last year ilif the V8'S. If you can buy one and want one all Jaguars are excellent car's without the worry if reliability of the 70s. Nothing beats a Jaaaaaaag
@YourTextEre Americans can never pronounce it correctly :P
Wtf? How about a real shifter, people? Christ.
just a few things...jagwar? no jag-you-are...british invented it, say it right. and another thing is, why would anyone want a car that looks like an s-type. in britain, that look has been critisised always.
@mememe84 yeah only a british patriotic would buy this car overa germans
"You may not like the Jaguar" if you want a reliable car!!! LOL
Never buy a Jag as a new car, the XF loses over 50% of its value in 2 years, so if you look in the used car ads, you can find a fully equipped XF for around $35,000, which is chump change for a luxury car. And then, of course, there's the terrible, shoddy British build quality of which Jaguars are notorious for. A Jag is all about looks, and it doesn't have much more than that. Heck, even the patriotic Brits of "Top Gear" agrees that Jags are built poorly compared to the German competition.
S-type = Most hideous car ever made
Daniel Hansen have you ever herd of the I pace
Dont care for the exterior styling...too damn dull for a Jag
At least the old Jags looked distinctive. This car looks far too mundane and conservative, too much like an Audi. It lacks that sophistic yet sporty look of the XK. Plus, it's built by Britons, which means it will have extremely shoddy build quality and poor reliability, and your lawn mower will probably last longer than the engine under the bonnet. Only a patriotic Briton, or an idiot (which is kind of the same really), would choose this car over the obvious superior German models
