Now this is a good designed car, as a S-type owner the XF will be the next step. A Jag is pure luxury with plenty of bhp to make you smile. Its so rare to find a car with such a well layed-out interiour.

Exterior of the Jaguar XF is most Luxurious in its class. Interior is not complicated. It's clean, simple, and elegant. I think the Electronic opening/closing vents and the Automatic shift knob will be a winner. Push Button Start. Smooth Blue LED Lighting.

You mean the leaper hood ordament, in europe they haven't seen it in a long while. Last seen on the previous S-type and X-type now gone forever. This new FX looks very fordish to me. What I like about the S-Type is it is a clasic Jaguar style like the old XK-140 and the MKII. No accounting for taste. Seems like they are touting the toy stuff like the start button, the rotating air vents, and the popup gear changer, stuff that seems overly complex and will just break.

Friend's dad has this car and the actuator that raises the gear selector failed. Car was totally immobilized and had to be flat bed towed to the dealer. All that hassle over the silly gear selector.

A friend of mind had a similar problem and did repair it at a general mechanic for 120$, I mean 1500$ vs. 120$ ? I learned that stealership is only if you are still under warranty meaning it’s not you who will pay for the repairs. I wonder what would be the most reliable brand in the world ?
Auto Express said the XFR 5 litre supercharge just being released was much better to drive than the BMW 5 Series, I have driven Jaguar and BMW, much prefer the Jaguar. Still looking forward to the 5 litre supercharge engine being fitted to the Range Rover during 2009
May I suggest you are overlooking the fact the car had completed development before TATA took the business over. They are merely bankers in the overall picture. The creativity and engineering comes out of COVENTRY
I have one of these, happens to be exactly like the one in the video - even the same color. This car runs with the M5, which is $20K more money. I have had the car over a year, and had never had a significant problem with it. Acceleration, handling, and the sound system are spectatular. This is not your father's Jaguar.
@DroidNoid All dealerships rip us off. I never go to the dealership for a repair inless it is warrantied. Most Service stations do the job just fine for 3 x less.

I was examining the new XJ in Coventry yesterday, also designed and built by British engineers, believe me, this car rivals Bentley for road presence! it looks 10 times better in reality than pictures and is a reincarnation of Jaguars 60s logo, grace, space, pace.
Jags have an air of coolness that ze Germans can only wish for. German cars look like an expensive suitcase (very good one at that) but who wants to drive a suitcase when you can drive a Savile Row suit with a sawed-off shot gun in your jacket. That's what Jags are about; British coolness that can kill you. XF has been voted the car of the Year and the XKR-S is even better than a SL 65, 55 and Aston DBS. Just read the reviews!
4.2L V8 being supercharged only gets 420hp? An Audi RS4 is exactly the same specs although naturally aspirated with 420 and 1 whole sec faster from 0-60 with a base price only 3k more

I've had jags for 25 years but this interior has finished me. I usually buy 2 or 3 years old but I will not buy one of these. We have both a 2003 jag and a 2003 5 series BMW. No idea what we'll replace either with because the new BMWs are pig ugly and I don't like this much better. Ugly dashboards seem to be in fashion. The dash doesn't look any different to the average mass produced car.
How can you say it is not developed by TATA? They are investing millions of euros! They have made a loss this year after who knows how many profit making years because of jag. So yes Tata deserves the credit. It's their money, it's their car.
