The movie relates the first ascent by Gêrome Pouvreau of "Ganesh" (8B+) in Badami, India.
Bolted by Alex Chabot two years before, this route is a "world class jewell".
Despite the tick bite in his back, an infected foot, and a tourista, Gérôme succeeded in his project...

Your editor is a music and syncopation genius. Real original! I see some people don't get it :)
First ascent means the first time someone is able to complete the route. Almost all first ascents are projects, meaning that a climber will work on sections of the route at a time, placing bolts and refining technique for sections individually then string all of them together in one run for the actual first ascent.

I've seriously never seen a better made climbing movie. Admittedly, they are usually not made by experienced theatrical professionals and, hence, usually not that good anyways, but still ...

I don't quite understand where you are missing it. This was the first time someone successfully went up the entire route, so it was the first ascent. It was bolted in 2011 by a different climber, who was apparently not able to complete it ... not much more info needed to see why FA applies.

Demonstrating some nice flags behind, looks a good climb. Yes I am a climbing noob.
So sad, and yet funny, to see people getting upset with each other something like this. Can you not even relax and enjoy the beauty of the climb? No one forced you to watch the video! At least have the decency to keep your mean spirited comments to yourselves, please for the sake of those who would try to enjoy this.

It's a joke. He says his ankle injury is starting to get worse and (exaggerating) in a week it will require amputating and he'll have no liver. Another way of saying that it was time to go home.
I know what a first ascent is (even though I've only been trad climbing for 5 years), but I don't see how this can be a first ascent. Just wondering. I do see how that slight overhang can be problematic though :D

It was cool but given the length of the intro (~10 minutes), I think the title is misleading. You end up losing a large portion of your audience. If you are editing to make the audience want to watch, that is not something you want to do! Just throwing that out there.
